Funnily enough, Dan Castellaneta (Homer Simpson among others) said in an interview that he had a crush on Julie when she was on Rhoda (he was 14 at the time). So it's ironic that they ended up being "TV" married for nearly 35 years
Yet she was treated like the fat, dumpy, awkward little sister on the show. And Rhoda, when on MTM, was also treated as if she was fat and dumpy, even though she was always very pretty. Pretty crappy '70s-era stuff.
I was a little worried for a minute there but you qualified that with no homo so all good mr not hank hill. I won’t need to call Peggy then, that’s a relief as that would be a very awkward conversation.
John Ritter appeared in 2 episodes as different characters, In one of them, Norman Fell also appears, but he shares no scene or story with John Ritter.
RIP John Ritter . . . This show had a pretty good run 5 years - A longer run then MTM's other spin off, Phyllis.(2 seasons).. Rhoda was the better of the two shows. It's hard to maintain a spin off - It is near impossible to beat or outdo the original - Especially when the orginal is such a classic like TMTMS. But this was a fun show with a great cast (although the Joe character seems a tad mean.)
@@MrPaulbyron You're technically right. However, Lou was the only connection between the two. No appearances by the "Mary Tyler Moore" characters or direct references to it were made in "Lou Grant."
