Wasn't sure about this one, and I had no idea where the name came from, but when you look at at in VR it's just brilliant. Forget there is a golf game, just the amount of work gone into this is pretty special. That's the beauty of their DLC, and really if you don't own them all your are going to miss out somewhere. The cost is so small it's just a game that keeps giving.
This time, they have completely outdone themselves!!! This is BY FAR THE BEST COURSE YET!!! I was blown away at the course where your ball is flat and you feel like you’re playing hockey! Not to mention the one where the ball is GIGANTIC in the easy course and then teeny tiny in the hard course. Just way too many cool things to mention but this really is the best!!
I'm lucky to have a regular group I play with, and we all agreed Meow Wolf was so much fun and quickly became our favourite course. Keep up the great vid's
I can tell you, the trailers do NOT show what makes this course so cool! Wasn't expecting much, but my wife and I just played through it, and there are PORTALS that take you to courses that alter the whole way you play golf! There's a retro world where your balls become hockey pucks with Duck Hunt sound effects, there's a course where you're hitting your ball through the belly of a caterpillar (that you have to go through too), and there's portals that alter the size of your ball, and portals that multiply your balls. Was truly the coolest thing I've experienced in VR with this game, and should not be missed! I should play it again and record it to show you guys! My only guess is that they didn't want to spoil this with trailers? Worth every penny though!
Correct, the joy you’ve described in discovering these things was exactly what I wanted to preserve, and try to ‘sell’ the course to everyone without giving specifics. So pleased you’ve enjoyed it though!
@InnerPrincessVR Well, neither words nor imagery can describe what this feels like in VR. I say this, because even though I'm more stoked about seeing a Meow Wolf museum in real life, I was about to miss out on this DLC because the trailer made it look "boring"... Glad I decided to try it out, nobody would regret it that gets it though!
My favorite way to describe this is as a very close approximation to doing acid for 7 hours straight. Condensed into about 30 minutes without actually doing acid. It feels beyond words.
On my first play through I was completely lost and after 2-3 holes I just let go and went on the ride, seeing where it took me. I didn't look for a single ball, care about the score or anything. When I got to the final holes I was excited to see what the next concept would be and I was disappointed when I came to the end. They did an amazing job on this course and I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with next.
The second hole on easy is my single favorite hole in the entire game - it asks a simple question that is so easily answered and yet so surprising that I would never have thought of it beforehand.
I played easy & hard earlier today about 9hrs ago & I loved everything about it. It just totally smashed it out of the park. I felt like a kid in the most beautiful, playful environment. Great job, guys. I wasn't happy at all with the previous new course but this new one makes me feel so excited about future courses 😊❤ I haven't purchased any new courses since I purchased journey in June ,because none of them interested me, BUT I had to buy this new course after trying it out. It's simply stunning and so much fun.
It looks trippy. I can’t wait to try it. Thanks for the background story on it. I probably wouldn’t have purchased it without knowing about what it is about and what it is trying to portray.
I absolutely LOVED this course, my absolute favorite. The idea that every hole has something different was just incredible that they had that many different concepts. I had so much fun with it. I wish I could just tell them directly how incredible of a job they did. I really liked the tron like video game hole, and the bubbles that gave you a lot of possibilities for best ball. I can go on and on about how amazing this was
Visually my favorite by far. On my Quest 3 a bit buggy, practice mode hole 13 the ball kept slowly rolling (at the start and/or after turning big, the game auto-reported it to the devs), and a high score didn't register back at the shack. But they'll suss those out, I'm sure. Fun course!
Hey InnerPrincess, thank you very much for your content. May I ask a question? I play this game on Quest 3 and I can't figure out how to use the instruments in the game, like the piano or the drum set. To only "touch" these instruments with my putter won't do anything. Do I need to press a certain button while mashing on it with my putter?
Thank you for your kind comments. Now I feel a bit guilty, but I should say that there’s a small chance those instrument sounds are a running joke on my channel. Maybe some time in the future they’ll turn them on in-game
@@InnerPrincessVR Haha, awesome!! 😂 Very good editing then!! I didn't notice it at all! I've already thought there's something wrong with my controllers.

Thanks for another great and informative video. Very looking forward to your videos with each new DLC. I will eventually get this one - since everything WMG puts out is worth experiencing, I do however very much dislike the cacophony of colors in the easy course...
So I have now played it. Some cool ideas. Nothing more. The main word that kept coming to my mind while playing this course was disharmony. Disharmony between the colors, the holes and their mechanics, and the music was frankly unpleasant and disharmonous as well. All of this disharmony is in stark contrast to all the other wmg courses, in which game play, visual design and music complement each other to create a complete and joyful experience. This is by far my least favorite course. And I can say to anybody that feels by the screenshots and videos that this one is not for them - your feeling is probably correct.
Absolutely far and away my favorite Walkabout course. They absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one! The closest I have felt to the awe of Walkabout since first booting into Tourist Trap years ago.

It's a beautiful course and the sheer detail that went into everything is incredible, but after going in with zero context (other than what previous videos had shown) and completing the Easy course, I have to say I have mixed feelings about it. First, the comparisons to Upside Town (which the video addresses). Like Upside Town, Meow Wolf is a visually amazing course; however, Upside Town quickly became my least favorite of the existing courses due to how far it strays from the rest of Walkabout Minigolf's core mechanics by forcing you to putt balls on the sides of walls or on ceilings. I'm not saying it was BAD or criticizing Mighty Coconut for trying something new; it simply didn't feel like true Minigolf the way most of WM's other courses do mechanically speaking, and playing with my friend (whom I introduced to WM and who's now an avid fan) quickly reinforced that fact as we both concluded afterward that it was less practical for serious competitive matches. And for all the experimentation and discovery that the initial single-player playthrough offers, that is where Meow Wolf's biggest potential turnoff is going to be, particularly for fans of multiplayer, with so many holes employing entirely new mechanics that you (or more specifically, the first player at each hole who must be the guinea pig) must figure out the "rules" of, typically with no explanation whatsoever. Balls that split into several, holes with multiple cups, holes where you must achieve something else to reveal the cup(s), random teleports of different sizes that can send your ball in random directions, and more; while the novelty of all these may be fresh the first time around, a lot of them can and no doubt absolutely will wreak havoc during multiplayer sessions. How players will react to all that randomness will likely vary, especially if they're really competitive. There's also the complete lack of context that probably the vast majority of players are going to have regarding Meow Wolf and Numina, as I had. Even having spent over two hours on both the Easy and Hard courses this afternoon, I honestly don't have any more insight into this "world" or whatever lore it may contain than I did before (something the complete lack of text in the Fox Hunt seems to confirm isn't coincidental). As a licensed course, it's an odd choice and my concern is that unfamiliarity might cause some folks to pass on even purchasing it. With that said, do I regret my purchase of Meow Wolf? Not one bit; I'm more than happy to snap up each and every amazing course that Mighty Coconut brings us, and I sincerely hope they'll keep doing so for a very long time to come. Not every course can be everyone's favorite, and not every experiment may end up being liked (as much) by every player, but I'm thankful for Meow Wolf (as I am for Upside Town) as gaming experiences regardless, and I don't ever wish to discourage Mighty Coconut from trying new ideas and approaches. Again, it's a beautiful course and Mighty Coconut have outdone themselves with the detail and sound work in this one. But mechanically speaking I don't know how often I'll be breaking it out for multiplayer in particular as its random elements seem too far from the core mechanics of WM's other courses, and as such can quickly make matches less about skill than blind luck.
