They are all a blast to play. I find myself going back to Tourist Trap just for the crazy backward shot off the tee in hole 18. I also love Laser Lair and can't wait for the next evil lair. Walkabout is easily my favorite VR game. Thanks for all the videos you put out about it!
I love the courses where the play meshes with the theme, Atlantis has those gentle rolling waves in the easy mode and the crashing torrents in the hard course, I love the weirdness of Widows and Upside down town, but meow wolf just blew me out of the water

Absolutely love these games. I’m 81 and my grandson gave me a Meta Quest 2 for Christmas. I have quite a few of the games such as golf, bowling, Beat Saber but the miniature golf is my favorite. I’ve been adding to my courses and have almost all the ones you mention. My favorites are Quixote, Alfheim, Shangri-La, and Atlantis. Next is Eldorado and Cherry blossom. I don’t own them all yet, but I’m planning too. I get a real kick out of the location of Quixote cause I’m from the Netherlands and it is flat as a pancake but lots of windmills. Love your explanations! Tell me why I can’t find the note on the door of Quioxote where Nan leaves a note on the door😅
It’s hard to find a good channel for a small game like Walkaboutminigolf. So Innerproncess is basically the best Walkaboutminigolf UA-camr! *besides me of course*

Am I the only one here that loves Upside Town? I've probably played that course the most, the novelty of the gravity mechanics have not worn off at all, and kts always a blast to play

Very enjoyable retrospective. I'll say that on concept alone, the two courses I have no interest in are Upside Town and Laser Lair (on any course, I never like timing shots). Among the rest, the factor that goes a long way towards how much I'll enjoy it is, do I feel like I'm playing the course, or is the course playing me? Journey is a course I instantly tired of because almost every shot feels like it's just putt and pray... just send it on its way and let the random bounces on the rocks determine the outcomes. It's like playing a slot machine; there's no sense that repeated plays will help you "get better" at it. And much as you said, a lot of this comes down to "how much do I want to be in this world?". For me, the places I want to be are Quixote, Zerzura, Cherry Blossom, Atlantis and Seagulls.
Yeah I know what you mean on Journey, but I like playing it just to reach that view at the end. Always take a moment to stand and admire that one. Pleased to see Seagull hitting the top of yours, that course gets a mixed reception

My 10s (the Courses I am always in the mood for): Meow Wolf, Altantis, Myst, Laser Lair, Alfheim 9.5: El Dorado, Quixote Valley 9: Cherry Blossom, 20,000 Leagues, Journey to the Center of the Earth, 8.5: Tourist Trap (it's the nostalgia), Temple of Zerzura, 8: Shangri-La (Stunning course, but those sand traps are the bane of my existence), Original Gothic, Tethys Station, Labyrinth, Widow's Walkabout, 7.5: UpsideTown, Gardens of Babylon, Arizona Modern, & Bogey's Bonanza (I feel hot, sticky, and dirty when I play those AM & BB- VR feels real sometimes) 7: Sweetopia (my stomach churns and my teeth rot each time I am in there, but the holes are fun) & Seagull Stacks (so much anxiety on that night course - heights + icy/snowy, rocky steps - it's an LNI claim waiting to happen)
You were brutal on the Jules Verne courses, man. I love them. As for Widow's Walkabout, I thought the grey scale was brilliant. For whatever reason I always have Young Frankenstein lines running through my head when playing the hard mode. And Tethys is my nemesis. I've got double digit negative scores pretty much everywhere but that damn thing. For some reason, I'm horrible on that one. Overall, a fair tier list. I hated Upside Town at first, but it's grown on me a bit. I agree with you, it's hard to rank these courses, because all of them bring something to the table. Visually, mechanically, viscerally - there isn't a wasted course in the game. For my part, I can play pretty much any course any time. Upside Town remains near the bottom, and similarly to what you're saying about Sweetopia, the Candy Land vibes, while artistically wonderful, aren't my first preference. Still, I'm down for Upside Town or Sweetopia any time. The rest of the courses I'd have a hell of a time ranking.
So far i like all courses except Arizona Modern. It is set in the Desert with no appealing graphic layout whatsoever. The shapes of the holes are hard, yet very vanilla in design. If there were a 6 rating, this course would get that from me.
I love the way this game is zen, social, and keeps on giving I would bump Bogeys Bonanza to an 8.5 (the back 9 is a solid 9) and drop Seagull stacks to a 7.5 (by the way, your videos are great!)
I really agree with only one of your ratings. Alfheim has also 10 Points on my side. But I respect your rating, because I think we look for different things in our ratings. Your content is great. Please keep up the your good work.
You're right, there really isn't a "bad" course in the game and I'd enjoy popping into a match most times with just about any course. I also agree with your top picks; love those courses!
Personally I found the upside downtown to be by far the worse. Good visually, but having to crane and twist your neck with the course on the ceiling was just a bad design choice. I think he's being very generous by making the scale only go as low as 7.5.
I think that as a set of logical puzzles it’s quite unique in its challenge and complexity. I like having to figure the angles out and it’s also a fun one to play with new people / family, so for me it’s defo still worth at least a 7.5
@@InnerPrincessVR Each to their own! You've obviously got a well earned relationship with the developers, but personally I'd have started the scale at 3 or 4. More than a few lacklustre courses. Never really disastrous (except maybe the crash laden Myst one) but we broadly agreed that up until the evil lair (brilliant return to form) it felt like they where phoning it in somewhat. Me and friends still buy them as a matter of course (pun intended!) as we think it's important to support the studio.
craning the neck is a skill issue. perpetual flying mode fixes a lot of physical awkwardness and the rest is about having the patience to learn the shots@@stuartburns8657
I feel that Alfheim blew it when they didn’t incorporate the forest elevators into the game. I think there were great opportunities to really expand the game play. Atlantis, for me, is an 11 with its tremendous amount of fish swimming around in so many different places. The whale and stingrays swimming gracefully makes it a great place to hang after completing the round.
As an environment Atlantis is among the top (though I'm not as keen on the night version), but I feel so engulfed in the environment, that I never end up paying much attention to the golf!
About mid-last year, I remember playing quixote valley with my friends, and we sat down looking at the view for like an hour to an hour and a half instead of actually playing the mini golf

But overall, it's a great variety of courses and I can't wait to see what comes out next. How about the putters? Which one is your favorite?
There are no Fs but I'd still rate Arizona as a 5. That, and Myst are the only 2 I only finished, because I wanted the balls, and I didn't even do the Hard on Arizona, just the Fox Hunt.Loved Laser Lair, Upside Town, and the Halloween Map.The 20,000 Leagues under the sea was also a blast.
I bought every dlc today and after going through upside town with a friend and we both loved it. I would personally give it a 10. I also played widows today and I found alright 8.5 at best. Finally I played laser lair and loved it. I like the hard better suprisingly. Worth it and I haven’t touched most of them, easy course is a 9 hard is a 10.
Just subbed to your channel and enjoying it a lot. This is a great video as well for us Walkabout Mini Golf enthusiasts. One positive and constructive criticism is the music choice. Extremely repetitive with the annoying voices every few seconds. I wanted to hear your thoughts on the courses and it was distracting. Just food for thought. Keep up the good work! 👍

The black and white on Widow’s was such a stupid idea. The developer should ask themselves, “If we make this feature optional, would anyone ever turn it on?” If the answer is “no,” it’s a bad idea.
Interesting to hear your thoughts. I'd have Sweetopia, Babylon, Arizona and Cherry Blossom higher, with Alfheim, Quixote Valley and Meow Wolf lower. Let's see what the next three years bring.
The main thing I don't like about Sweetopia is its easy course soundtrack. I love every other course's soundtrack but that looping bubblegum elevator music is just too much. Hard Sweetopia's soundtrack is fine though. Hard for me to rank the rest. I think yours is pretty spot on. I'd put Journey and Widows a few levels higher and maybe move Quixote down one level.
Would be great if i could play the dlc or night courses in game with others who have them. The only option to find people in game is quick play and it always seems to pick a standard easy course, even if both players have (and would prefer to play) night mode or a dlc course. Its a bizarre oversight that still hasnt been addressed, years on. I hate it because the new courses look awesome but ive decided to stop buying until they add options to play dlc courses online without needing to add quest friends or post on discord.
Great video, list, and explanations! I think the scores are within .5 of where mine would be except for maybe Bogey’s. Aesthetically the easy course is lacking, but the replay ability and variance of scores for each round moves it up to an 8.5 for me.
I can’t disagree with you there, I know that Bogeys is popular. On reflection it was released around a time I was getting a little burned out with the game, it is very well designed and the hole variety is huge
Nice video. Agree with almost all of them. I would put Laser Lair and Arizona Modern further down to 8.5, and instead pull up El Dorado, Myst and Journey to the Center of the Earth more up to 9 and have Labyrinth on 9.5.

On tethys station you can fly. Point the club up and hold the joystick in the up position, then fly fly away. Flying ability makes this way better than a 7.5
A really great list! I probably haven't played these courses as much as you, but for me my 10/10 courses are Quixote Valley, Labrynth, Atlantis, and Temple at Zerzura. I haven't had a chance to play the courses after journey to the center of the earth though. Meow Wolf looks fantastic.
Yeah I’m increasingly finding out I may be alone I’m not rating that one as high, I think on reflection I haven’t played it enough since release to rank it properly
Great video of a wonderful game. I very much agree with your ratings, except for Quixote Valley. In my humble opinion, the holes don't offer much variety, there aren't many opportunities for hole-in-ones, and you end up playing conservatively. Visually, it's stunning, of course, but in terms of gameplay itself, my score would be an 8. And of course, congrats for your great channel.
Hard for me to vote any down but the top ones for me are Babylon, Atlantis, 20K under the sea, Quixote, Alfheim and (if I'm in the mood) Original Gothic and Meow Wolf.
I have every course as well. Play with my friends every Saturday. Meow Wolf is the only one where I felt like getting a refund. Absolutely AWFUL. Meow Wolf and UpsideDown Town are the only ones we all basically refuse to play, Our favorites seem to be Gardens, Quixote and Lazer.

:) I just knew I'd be wrong more than right putting this video out, but I really enjoyed going back to all the courses and re-evaluating them. But each time I filmed one I though 'no THIS is a top-tier course', which is why I had to bring the baseline up to 7.5, which still feel cruel!

Great vid! I just picked up my Quest 3 (my first VR headset) and gave this game a try last night. Blown away by the visuals and mechanics of the game. Can't wait to try all these out! Is it worth getting a golf grip controller holder?
@@InnerPrincessVR might have to take you up on that. I love me some straight walls and an abundance of angles to pick from. The lighting and the sounds are great too, it’s the first course MC included that new brass metal sound and it goes great with the metal banks throughout the sub.
Good list, agree on the whole but liking Journey and Myst a bit more ...agree regarding Tethys, just not liking that and Sweetopia can be a bit much. Quixote is always great, but Alfheim has grown on me and love the choral music. One key ingredient though is the last hole; im always looking for something awesome to finish on a high and find Alfheim's a bit of a letdown in that respect.
It’s technically a very enticing course to play, and a really well calculated format, but the environment tips it away for me a little the problem with the 7.5 score courses was that in truth I would give them all more than that but the inflation was getting silly when I tried to set the tiers

Having a love for ghost towns in the west, Bogeys Bonanza is one of my favorites. Lonely, in the best way. Idk why, but Arizona Modern was lower on my list, I would move that down to an 8/8.5. Need to play Alfheim, Atlantis, the Jules Verne’s courses and Meow Wolf still! Any votes on which one I should get first?
Heavily disagree with alfheim being at the top and I think myst and meow wolf should be a 10 ;) but that's OK. We do agree that Tethys Station is at the bottom 😅
Funnest game out there. We play hard courses every night. Sooo fun! Do u think they will add different scoring methods such as skins or match play? Kinda sucks when u take a big number on one hole and ruin your whole round.
Here are my ratings Tourist trap-9 so fun to play whenever, never annoying or boring other than the hard course. Cherry blossom-8 pretty fun, hard course is annoying though. Seagull stacks-8.5 really fun and looks great, can get frustrating on certain holes though Arizona modern-8.5 super fun, easy course is a blast, hard course holds it back from being a 10 though. Original gothic-9.5 the hard course is SO good, easy course is great too. Tethys station-1 I dread playing this course, it is in my opinion absolutely unbearable to play and I hate it with a passion, easily the 2 worst courses in the entire game, just awful. Bogey’s bonanza-8 pretty fun and looks good, kind of forgettable though, I almost forgot to even rate it. Quixote valley-9.5 amazing decoration and super fun for the entire thing. Sweetopia-8 I used to hate this course but the more I play, the more I start liking it, love the decoration. Upside town-8.5 this gets way too much hate, I love the decoration, but the course can sometimes be annoying. Alfheim-7.5 amazing decoration, but I don’t like the holes very much, it is really annoying. Widow’s walkabout-10 absolute masterpiece, amazing decoration, amazing gameplay, just so good. Labyrinth-9.5 I was so obsessed with this when it came out, I must have played it 100 times in like 5 days. Amazing. Myst-4 I do not enjoy this, it is really frustrating and I don’t really like the decoration either. Meow wolf-10 Absolute Perfection, my first play through was easily the most fun I have ever had in vr. Just so good. Gardens of Babylon-8 it is cool, nothing else to say really. Shangri-la-8.5 really cool hard course and pretty fun. El dorado-8 can be really annoying, but the hard course looks so good. Atlantis-9.5 looks amazing, and other than the hard course, is super fun as well. Temple at zerzura-9 looks great and is really fun to play, cool foxhunt too. 20000 leagues under the sea-9.5 amazing decoration, and so fun. Journey to the center of the earth-8.5 really, really good decoration, and pretty fun too. Laser lair-8 can get really frustrating but is fun overall.
Is most of the dlc worth it? I’m tempted to buy all but unsure if I will like lots of them. There’s always usually lots of dlc for games courses, that are straight up, not good.
You can pick any or use a random course selector. All the hard mode versions are locked until you score below par on the east or collect enough lost balls
Interesting video, BUT 🤔😂 I do agree with most of your ratings, BUT 🤔😂 I do differ on some. I'll start with row 10, I don't agree with Alfheim as a 10 when compared to the other 2 courses. I would also swap Arizona modern with sweetopia. AM is visually unappealing. Finally all the 9.5 courses are way more enjoyable than Alfheim. So I don't understand the logic behind that choice. My top 5 favourite to play in no order of preference are, Shangrila, Cherry Blossom, temple at Z, meow wolf and tourist trap because of its realistic play. But honestly speaking I would rank them 7, 8, 9 & 10 I don't agree that u needed to split them by 7.5, 8.5, 9.5. That's just being over dramatic. I think most of the courses get an 8 or 9 from me. 3 courses get a 10 and 4 courses get a 7. It makes sense that players will disagree on rankings because different things appeal to different players in different ways. For me environment and art is more important than mechanics of how each hole plays. I want it to feel relaxing, playful and adventurous. That's why AM doesn't appeal to me. It's like comparing rice to fried rice 😂 Overall I still enjoyed the video because it makes u think deeply about each course and whether one agrees or not. BUT yeah u lost me when u rated Alfheim 10 & Arizona modern 9 lol sigh But you're human. It's a default in your program 😂 a mistake your creator made 😂
:D I liked this breakdown, thanks! My love for Alfheim came from filming some hole in ones for it, I found that the margin between close to, and IN the hole was so fine sometimes, that it made an otherwise simple looking shot almost artistic to execute. As for the .5 divisions, I worked with sooo many versions of how to rank / divide the courses, and it was only when I went to this format that I finally felt reasonably comfortable with groupings. It has certainly divide the audience though :)
@InnerPrincessVR no no no, you're not gonna convince me that Alfheim deserves 10, when I think it's actually 8 at best 🤣🤣 Your jedi mind tricks will not work on this mature wise master 😉 But I understand why it means so much to you having explained how you came to that decision. We both like different things about WMG. Alfheim visually is just too bland for me. I don't feel like I'm somewhere magical like I feel in Meow wolf or Shangrila. Also I only play one course most days. Not every day. Probably around 5 courses a week. Unlike other players who play at least 3 or 4 games a day. So I went to escape reality and be immersed in an environment that is buzzing with glamour. The colours in Alfheim and the design kind of depress me. I'll play it if friends choose it or if it's the chosen discord game at the time, but my mood feels flat compared to if i go into meow wolf or Shangrila, if that makes sense. So, for me, it's about how I'm feeling when interacting with the colours, textures, and objects built into a new course. That's why I purchased meow wolf. I stopped purchasing courses from laser lair. I didn't purchase LL, Alfheim & widows walkabout because they didn't appeal to me at all. But when meow wolf came out and I played it once with friends, I purchased it immediately after that game. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed playing the 3 courses I didn't purchase, but I didn't feel the need to because I don't want more of that. I'll only invest in courses that make me feel happy & playful. That makes me desperately want to put on my headset and play.

Overall, a fair tier list. I hated Upside Town at first, but it's grown on me a bit. I agree with you, it's hard to rank these courses, because all of them bring something to the table. Visually, mechanically, viscerally - there isn't a wasted course in the game. For my part, I can play pretty much any course any time. Upside Town remains near the bottom, and similarly to what you're saying about Sweetopia, the Candy Land vibes, while artistically wonderful, aren't my first preference. Still, I'm down for Upside Town or Sweetopia any time. The rest of the courses I'd have a hell of a time ranking.
So far i like all courses except Arizona Modern. It is set in the Desert with no appealing graphic layout whatsoever. The shapes of the holes are hard, yet very vanilla in design. If there were a 6 rating, this course would get that from me.

I would bump Bogeys Bonanza to an 8.5 (the back 9 is a solid 9)
and drop Seagull stacks to a 7.5

You're right, there really isn't a "bad" course in the game and I'd enjoy popping into a match most times with just about any course. I also agree with your top picks; love those courses!
Personally I found the upside downtown to be by far the worse.
Good visually, but having to crane and twist your neck with the course on the ceiling was just a bad design choice.
I think he's being very generous by making the scale only go as low as 7.5.
I think that as a set of logical puzzles it’s quite unique in its challenge and complexity. I like having to figure the angles out and it’s also a fun one to play with new people / family, so for me it’s defo still worth at least a 7.5

You've obviously got a well earned relationship with the developers, but personally I'd have started the scale at 3 or 4.
More than a few lacklustre courses. Never really disastrous (except maybe the crash laden Myst one) but we broadly agreed that up until the evil lair (brilliant return to form) it felt like they where phoning it in somewhat.
Me and friends still buy them as a matter of course (pun intended!) as we think it's important to support the studio.

I feel that Alfheim blew it when they didn’t incorporate the forest elevators into the game. I think there were great opportunities to really expand the game play.
Atlantis, for me, is an 11 with its tremendous amount of fish swimming around in so many different places. The whale and stingrays swimming gracefully makes it a great place to hang after completing the round.
As an environment Atlantis is among the top (though I'm not as keen on the night version), but I feel so engulfed in the environment, that I never end up paying much attention to the golf!

About mid-last year, I remember playing quixote valley with my friends, and we sat down looking at the view for like an hour to an hour and a half instead of actually playing the mini golf

There are no Fs but I'd still rate Arizona as a 5. That, and Myst are the only 2 I only finished, because I wanted the balls, and I didn't even do the Hard on Arizona, just the Fox Hunt.Loved Laser Lair, Upside Town, and the Halloween Map.The 20,000 Leagues under the sea was also a blast.
I bought every dlc today and after going through upside town with a friend and we both loved it. I would personally give it a 10. I also played widows today and I found alright 8.5 at best. Finally I played laser lair and loved it. I like the hard better suprisingly. Worth it and I haven’t touched most of them, easy course is a 9 hard is a 10.
Just subbed to your channel and enjoying it a lot. This is a great video as well for us Walkabout Mini Golf enthusiasts. One positive and constructive criticism is the music choice. Extremely repetitive with the annoying voices every few seconds. I wanted to hear your thoughts on the courses and it was distracting. Just food for thought. Keep up the good work! 👍

That is a fair ranking. My one exception is Upside Town which I hate because of the annoying mechanics. It does look good though.
The black and white on Widow’s was such a stupid idea. The developer should ask themselves, “If we make this feature optional, would anyone ever turn it on?” If the answer is “no,” it’s a bad idea.

The main thing I don't like about Sweetopia is its easy course soundtrack. I love every other course's soundtrack but that looping bubblegum elevator music is just too much. Hard Sweetopia's soundtrack is fine though.
Hard for me to rank the rest. I think yours is pretty spot on. I'd put Journey and Widows a few levels higher and maybe move Quixote down one level.
Would be great if i could play the dlc or night courses in game with others who have them.
The only option to find people in game is quick play and it always seems to pick a standard easy course, even if both players have (and would prefer to play) night mode or a dlc course. Its a bizarre oversight that still hasnt been addressed, years on.
I hate it because the new courses look awesome but ive decided to stop buying until they add options to play dlc courses online without needing to add quest friends or post on discord.

Great video, list, and explanations! I think the scores are within .5 of where mine would be except for maybe Bogey’s. Aesthetically the easy course is lacking, but the replay ability and variance of scores for each round moves it up to an 8.5 for me.
I can’t disagree with you there, I know that Bogeys is popular. On reflection it was released around a time I was getting a little burned out with the game, it is very well designed and the hole variety is huge

Nice video. Agree with almost all of them. I would put Laser Lair and Arizona Modern further down to 8.5, and instead pull up El Dorado, Myst and Journey to the Center of the Earth more up to 9 and have Labyrinth on 9.5.
Looks like you enjoy the challenging, less clean-cut hole designs - El Dorado is a great one if you're putting well

On tethys station you can fly. Point the club up and hold the joystick in the up position, then fly fly away. Flying ability makes this way better than a 7.5
You can fly in any course! Happy flying!

A really great list! I probably haven't played these courses as much as you, but for me my 10/10 courses are
Quixote Valley, Labrynth, Atlantis, and Temple at Zerzura. I haven't had a chance to play the courses after journey to the center of the earth though. Meow Wolf looks fantastic.
If you've not played Alfheim you should really set aside some time to try it, it's such a lovely place to be, and the golf is so enjoyable too

Great video of a wonderful game. I very much agree with your ratings, except for Quixote Valley. In my humble opinion, the holes don't offer much variety, there aren't many opportunities for hole-in-ones, and you end up playing conservatively. Visually, it's stunning, of course, but in terms of gameplay itself, my score would be an 8. And of course, congrats for your great channel.
The thing is that easy vs hard rankings would be really different. OG EAasy is just boring but the hard version is strong, same with seagull stacks
Hard for me to vote any down but the top ones for me are Babylon, Atlantis, 20K under the sea, Quixote, Alfheim and (if I'm in the mood) Original Gothic and Meow Wolf.

I have every course as well. Play with my friends every Saturday. Meow Wolf is the only one where I felt like getting a refund. Absolutely AWFUL. Meow Wolf and UpsideDown Town are the only ones we all basically refuse to play, Our favorites seem to be Gardens, Quixote and Lazer.
My favorite thing to do in walkabout minigolf is to help new players unlock all lost balls and get hard mode
My favourite has to be the space one just for the opportunity’s to get holes in 1 and it also has a loop

:) I just knew I'd be wrong more than right putting this video out, but I really enjoyed going back to all the courses and re-evaluating them. But each time I filmed one I though 'no THIS is a top-tier course', which is why I had to bring the baseline up to 7.5, which still feel cruel!

@@InnerPrincessVR might have to take you up on that. I love me some straight walls and an abundance of angles to pick from. The lighting and the sounds are great too, it’s the first course MC included that new brass metal sound and it goes great with the metal banks throughout the sub.
Good list, agree on the whole but liking Journey and Myst a bit more ...agree regarding Tethys, just not liking that and Sweetopia can be a bit much.
Quixote is always great, but Alfheim has grown on me and love the choral music.
One key ingredient though is the last hole; im always looking for something awesome to finish on a high and find Alfheim's a bit of a letdown in that respect.

It’s technically a very enticing course to play, and a really well calculated format, but the environment tips it away for me a little the problem with the 7.5 score courses was that in truth I would give them all more than that but the inflation was getting silly when I tried to set the tiers

Having a love for ghost towns in the west, Bogeys Bonanza is one of my favorites. Lonely, in the best way. Idk why, but Arizona Modern was lower on my list, I would move that down to an 8/8.5. Need to play Alfheim, Atlantis, the Jules Verne’s courses and Meow Wolf still! Any votes on which one I should get first?
Journey to the center of the earth is my favorite so far. But I think myst has the best clubs if your into collecting

Tourist trap-9 so fun to play whenever, never annoying or boring other than the hard course.
Cherry blossom-8 pretty fun, hard course is annoying though.
Seagull stacks-8.5 really fun and looks great, can get frustrating on certain holes though
Arizona modern-8.5 super fun, easy course is a blast, hard course holds it back from being a 10 though.
Original gothic-9.5 the hard course is SO good, easy course is great too.
Tethys station-1 I dread playing this course, it is in my opinion absolutely unbearable to play and I hate it with a passion, easily the 2 worst courses in the entire game, just awful.
Bogey’s bonanza-8 pretty fun and looks good, kind of forgettable though, I almost forgot to even rate it.
Quixote valley-9.5 amazing decoration and super fun for the entire thing.
Sweetopia-8 I used to hate this course but the more I play, the more I start liking it, love the decoration.
Upside town-8.5 this gets way too much hate, I love the decoration, but the course can sometimes be annoying.
Alfheim-7.5 amazing decoration, but I don’t like the holes very much, it is really annoying.
Widow’s walkabout-10 absolute masterpiece, amazing decoration, amazing gameplay, just so good.
Labyrinth-9.5 I was so obsessed with this when it came out, I must have played it 100 times in like 5 days. Amazing.
Myst-4 I do not enjoy this, it is really frustrating and I don’t really like the decoration either.
Meow wolf-10 Absolute Perfection, my first play through was easily the most fun I have ever had in vr. Just so good.
Gardens of Babylon-8 it is cool, nothing else to say really.
Shangri-la-8.5 really cool hard course and pretty fun.
El dorado-8 can be really annoying, but the hard course looks so good.
Atlantis-9.5 looks amazing, and other than the hard course, is super fun as well.
Temple at zerzura-9 looks great and is really fun to play, cool foxhunt too.
20000 leagues under the sea-9.5 amazing decoration, and so fun.
Journey to the center of the earth-8.5 really, really good decoration, and pretty fun too.
Laser lair-8 can get really frustrating but is fun overall.
top ones - temple, 20000 leagues, gothic and atlantis, while the 2 we tend to pass on are tethys and quixote

You can pick any or use a random course selector. All the hard mode versions are locked until you score below par on the east or collect enough lost balls

I do differ on some.
I'll start with row 10, I don't agree with Alfheim as a 10 when compared to the other 2 courses.
I would also swap Arizona modern with sweetopia. AM is visually unappealing.
Finally all the 9.5 courses are way more enjoyable than Alfheim. So I don't understand the logic behind that choice.
My top 5 favourite to play in no order of preference are, Shangrila, Cherry Blossom, temple at Z, meow wolf and tourist trap because of its realistic play.
But honestly speaking I would rank them 7, 8, 9 & 10
I don't agree that u needed to split them by 7.5, 8.5, 9.5. That's just being over dramatic.
I think most of the courses get an 8 or 9 from me. 3 courses get a 10 and 4 courses get a 7.
It makes sense that players will disagree on rankings because different things appeal to different players in different ways.
For me environment and art is more important than mechanics of how each hole plays. I want it to feel relaxing, playful and adventurous. That's why AM doesn't appeal to me. It's like comparing rice to fried rice 😂
Overall I still enjoyed the video because it makes u think deeply about each course and whether one agrees or not.

:D I liked this breakdown, thanks! My love for Alfheim came from filming some hole in ones for it, I found that the margin between close to, and IN the hole was so fine sometimes, that it made an otherwise simple looking shot almost artistic to execute.
As for the .5 divisions, I worked with sooo many versions of how to rank / divide the courses, and it was only when I went to this format that I finally felt reasonably comfortable with groupings. It has certainly divide the audience though :)

We both like different things about WMG. Alfheim visually is just too bland for me. I don't feel like I'm somewhere magical like I feel in Meow wolf or Shangrila.
Also I only play one course most days. Not every day. Probably around 5 courses a week. Unlike other players who play at least 3 or 4 games a day. So I went to escape reality and be immersed in an environment that is buzzing with glamour.
The colours in Alfheim and the design kind of depress me. I'll play it if friends choose it or if it's the chosen discord game at the time, but my mood feels flat compared to if i go into meow wolf or Shangrila, if that makes sense.
So, for me, it's about how I'm feeling when interacting with the colours, textures, and objects built into a new course.
That's why I purchased meow wolf. I stopped purchasing courses from laser lair. I didn't purchase LL, Alfheim & widows walkabout because they didn't appeal to me at all.
But when meow wolf came out and I played it once with friends, I purchased it immediately after that game.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed playing the 3 courses I didn't purchase, but I didn't feel the need to because I don't want more of that. I'll only invest in courses that make me feel happy & playful. That makes me desperately want to put on my headset and play.
cherry blossom is over rated, most holes you have to tic-tac the ball.
