This general worked as the head of the NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) troops. He was involved in investigating the activities of US biolabs on Ukrainian territory.
@@krino2 He was indeed the head of the NBC troops... but what exactly does that mean anyway? I think that most if not all democratic nations have long since stopped with the chemical and biological development and deployment. But not so in the totalitarian governments of the world! if you're at war it's not terrorism, war doesn't work well with guardrails, they've got to take the opportunities that present themselves. That's why we say war is hell and escalates
That's more or less how I see it, too. If you're part of a combatant's military, you're a potential target. IIRC, the British tried to assassinate Rommel in WWII.
I mean... if you go with the technical definition, I suppose it would be an act of terrorism. But defining something as an act of terrorism doesn't say whether the act was well earned.

To me, it is not that complicated. Russia has been at war with Ukraine since 2022, or 2014 depending on how you view it. Since 2022, Russia has been bombing Ukrainian cities on an industrial scale. This attack targeted a military official, who is a valid target in a war imo regardless of his specific role. So it is not that crazy he was a target. Watch, in response, Russia will send hundreds of missiles and drones at Ukrainian cities in retaliation.
There is no " depending" Russia annex of crimia, there were spetnez and other military operating in Donetsk in the Ukraine civil war, dpr independence whatever you want to call it. Even Russia news networks and bots all confirmed that Russia was in Ukraine and funding along with troops on frontlines, there is ton of videos showing Russians along dpr troops in late 2014 and then more common in 2015 onward. There is also or was idk if it's still there now. But in 2015 a documentary was made that used local and own footage with interviews of a unmarked graves in the dpr with Russian military patches and Russian flag patches of Russians who died in the dpr but Russia couldn't bring the bodies back or refused. Told Russian families that their sons, husbands were deployed elsewhere and couldn't be contacted. I'm sure if you searched for this documentary it's on UA-cam and some website owned by the film crew. I can go on. I can't site sources do to UA-cam will remove my comment if I post links to sources for obvious reason.
He had tortured and illegally gassed Ukrainian citizens, just like Russia also did in Syria. He was tried for his crimes in absentia and found guilty, so they took care of him. There was zero chance he ever would've been punished otherwise. So not only was he absolutely a valid target in war time, but Ukraine wanted to make sure he was punished for his crimes. As a bonus, now everyone hiding out in Moscow knows that that can't keep them safe forever, and they keep underestimating Ukrainians.
So, by that logic…North Korean troops being used only in Kursk..since it’s only Russia and not the Ukraine, and them pushing out a foreign invader….couldn’t NATO troops be used in the Ukraine…since it is only the Ukraine…to push out a foreign invader….

Getting backhanded all along the front line because you suck at raising troops, training troops, outfitting troops and preparing any more sophisticated defences than shallow ditches despite being supplied with the Wests most modern arms and a literal ton of money, getting encircled every other day and losing an average of 50 square kilometers a day due to poor leadership and pulling stupid PR stunts that have zero influence on all the aforementioned problems might be an indicator as to the Ukies probably not being engaged in "a well fought war".
In response, Russia can do much more, but there are no such cases because there are unwritten agreements. For example, a Russian drone has filmed Zelensky multiple times, but nothing was done.

Because I see here that the Americans have got it all mixed up, after all, they also sometimes called the killing of their soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan acts of terrorism.
Besides the lousy level of work in keeping information secret, there are other questions for the US leadership. The USA concluded agreements, announced lend-lease, but instead of real timely assistance, Ukraine saw only political struggle within America and assurances of assistance. Instead of arms supplies - 31 Abrams in three years of war. Instead of quick and effective sanctions - delayed restrictions that helped the Russian economy to rebuild in the first year of the invasion. Of course, Russia is guilty of 100% of the murders and destruction on the territory of Ukraine. But such actions by the USA led to the fact that hundreds of thousands more civilians became victims of Russian aggression than could have been if the USA had fulfilled the obligations that they themselves assumed.
Us has given more aid to Ukraine than any other country in the world purely statistically. I get it may not be enough but to say otherwise is crazy. We got our own problems over here too, sleepy joe is almost gone now though.

Is a uniformed marine protection soldier at an embassy a viable target, or does the embassy have certain protections. Who should respond to unmarked green men in paramilitary kit walking into a town out of the blue etc.
What's the difference between a middle and an IED? The kinetics are the same, hell the IED on this case has less collateral damage than most missile strines
Means of delivery and where the active warzone is, and no, the warzone isnt the entire country that is fighting the war, only the front. If this was a Himars attack it wouldnt be called terrorism. There are words and definitions for a reason, just because people are biased to one side, doesnt change definitions.
IEDs are closer to mine warfare to me. I am usually pretty cautious of mine prevalence. But an IED with a cell phone detonator is just a shoddy command mine without factory standards. And we had things like naval command mines to stop the Soviets. I still hate a lot of mass mine warfare, when it becomes something a farmer bumps into with a plough 15 years later.
Russia is still calling this totally ridiculous, unnecessary and 'illegal war' a 'special military operation' while they invade Ukraine and bomb their cities and you Preston have mixed feelings towards what Ukraine did regarding killing a major Russian target with not a Russian civilian in sight, let alone injured or killed. I get the both sides disclaimer but where I’m confused on the, “this is terrorism” argument is what’s the difference between a moped planted bomb and one delivered by a midrange ballistic missile? Is the more controlled moped bomb less moral because it’s a delivery method akin to those used by terrorists? Is the less accurate ballistic missile the better choice morally despite the much larger CEP?
Ukraine's targeted strike,.. ZERO "collateral damage" U.S. targeted (drone) strikes in Iraq/Afghanistan/...: "collateral damage" THOUSANDS of innocent bystanders So, please tell me WHO is the bigger terrorist BY YOUR OWN DEFINITION?
During World War 2 the allies supported 'terrorist' acts supported by resistance groups - for instance the US OSS and UK's SOE at the time. A classic example would be Operation Anthropoid. Part of the Occupation of Czechoslovakia (1938-1945) in World War II Reinhard Heydrich, the commander of the German Reich Security Main Office (RSHA), the acting governor of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and a principal architect of the Holocaust was assassinated.
Don't make ridiculous comparisons. Heydrich was a notorious figure, responsible for mass repression and terror and, although no one knew still, had just started the machinery for the Holocaust. This general was, I won't say a nobody, but not that critical or irreplaceable. And he was in the capital of HIS country, not showing off in an occupied one he ruled as a viceroy with an iron hand, stamping his boot on the face of locals.
Troop rotation and time for them to to rest is really important. During the battle of Verdun (1916) , General Philippe Pétain prioritized troop rotation to prevent physical and mental exhaustion. Units were cycled through the battle on average every 2-3 weeks, ensuring no single unit bore the brunt of the grueling combat for too long. Approximately 70% of the entire French Army served at Verdun at some point during the battle, either in combat or supporting capacities. Following the lead of the French, the US Army in WW2 confirmed that soldiers who are given a couple days away from the front to take a hot bath, get some clean clothes, and have a warm bed to get some decent rest, would be able to come back and remain effective fighters for much longer than troops who are left on the front lines non-stop until they hit their breaking point. By the time that happend it was usually too late for a short break to do much good. It was often diagnosed during WW2 as "Battle Fatigue". Today it's called PTSD.
Ukraine doesn't have the man power to rotate troops, from what I heard from interviews from Frontline members that they usually do a field rotation of 2 on Frontline and 2 in reserve operation area a few miles back for 2 days. It was also said in that mini documentary in I forget his yt name. It was posted a few days ago task and purpose I think his channel called. That back ups my trust me bro statements
North Korea is a military dictatorship that hasn’t actually fought a battle for generations. Modern combat experience for its military will be very useful in any future conflict with South Korea. That is probably part of their logic for sending them.
If it was Ukraine who killed the General, how can you honestly say it is terrorism during war? If it is a Ukrainian hit, it is a fair assassination. Also to terrorize civilians is the indiscriminate killing of civilians and the only side who has terrorized civilians is Russia. Give me a break, sitting on the fence with the killing of a General.

Remember, Russia is not interested in territorial gains, per se. It wants a subservient Ukrainian state. Ukrainians can and should trade territory for lives, to keep the spirit of Ukrainian independence alive. Territory can be reclaimed, not so with with the lives of heroes lost. Ukraine is in an 1:4 uphill fight. She can prevail, just as the Finns did in WWII against 1:40 odds. IIRC the US said that had Taliban agents assassinated a US general I Washington that would not be a war crime. This was in response to questioning the legality of targeting Taliban commanders in their homes. What dies Ukraine gain?
He had tortured and illegally gassed Ukrainian citizens, just like Russia also did in Syria. He was tried for his crimes in absentia and found guilty, so they took care of him. There was zero chance he ever would've been punished otherwise.

A US congressional team estimated that close to 2 million North Koreans died of famine in the 1990s and the government refused to even acknowledge the deaths,. The North Korean regime may care even less about their people than the Russians if such a thing is possible.

Here is a thought...Instead of Russian propagandists naming it a terrorist attack by Ukranian ops, maybe check their Kremlin ops to determine if this was an assassination attack.
interesting thing that we only hear and see evidence of assasinations on the russian side but nothing on ukrianian side. They can't get to them or what?
There was information early in the war that a lot of money that Russia invested in creating spy networks within Ukraine prior to outbreak of war simply got embezzled by pro-Russian politicians in the likes of Medvedchuk and others
