Video captures dueling porch pirates race to steal package outside Berks County home

- A pair of porch pirates were caught on video racing to steal a package just after it was delivered to a Pennsylvania home.
It happened earlier this week in Sinking Spring, Berks County as a FedEx delivery driver was walking away.
Within seconds of the delivery, doorbell video shows two men making a sprint to the residence. As one suspect grabs the package, the other holds a flower pot as a chase ensues.
This all happened as family members were inside the home.

The delivery driver was like, "ah, eff it"
For real, that issue is waaay above his pay grade
This isn't simple 'porch pirating', this is organizations accessing and leaking delivery database information. Two competing sets of perpetrators have such specific information that they are both in vehicles at the delivery location before the driver even gets back to the delivery vehicle. Perp #1 (plus getaway driver) are at the destination sitting there WAITING for the delivery driver to arrive and Perp #2 (plus getaway driver) clearly know that the delivery is about to happen and speed there to arrive just in time. The logistics companies' databases are clearly compromised and these groups are able to analyze activity by senders in order to target high value fungible articles. The two groups are fighting because they have a high degree of certainty of what is in the package. The whole reason flowerpot shmuck is so angry that he lost out is that, in his mind, the contents of the package are already rightfully his because his team went through all the effort to acquire the info and travel out to the delivery location in order to intercept it.
The fact that they would threaten physical violence upon each other is the wild part because it means that, despite the serious inside job required the acquire the information, there is still enough of a decentralized end user base for the stolen database information. After thinking out loud by writing this comment, it seems likely to me that you have one organization or set of organizations infiltrating the logistics companies, but then the proprietary internal database information is their 'end product' that they smuggle and sell to 'customers' who would use it for porch pirating. This model would make the most sense on some sort of cliched 'dark web' marketplace.

Why would the delivery driver not atleast ring the bell to see if the home owners were home bodies just dropping the package out side. They are a part of the problem as well
