Well... no. Barten assumes Kafei isn't in any trouble, but he winds up being wrong. It takes two people to solve Sakon's hideout, so if Link hadn't found Kafei, the dude would've been trapped there forever. It was very important for someone to look for him.
@@ShadyDoorags Barten is right and wrong. Kafei didn't just run off in the sense of someone who got cold feet. Although Kafei did need help because his problem was so profound.
Actually, "Barten" is literally just slang for Bartender, at least here in America. It's an older term, but I've heard it used a couple times. "Hey, Barten'! Can I get another round when you get the chance?"
You should upload what happens when you don't give Anju the necklace Kafei gives you for her. On the final day in the room they're supposed to meet again he says something most people won't see.

Oh man, all this time I thought Cremia named her donkey Mr. Barten, and that the donkey was happy to be making deliveries again. I didn't even think about the name.
i wish they did more with the bartender. he always seemed like a chill uncle kind of guy. knew everybody, and is overall a fine character to interact with. I guess it is an n64 game, and they can only do so much, but i feel like some of the side stories in general (besides kafei's quest that shits complex as fuck) could have been a bit more fleshed out.
Yeah, Majora's Mask makes me feel kind of cock blocked as a game. It's an amazing concept, but it's only really utilized for three characters, Anju, Gorman and Postman. Every other character has a fairly fixed position they just warp to every knight and day (or just vanish in the case of the third day). I'd love a Majora's Mask remake that took no the mission of establishing a schedule for every single character, even if it's as simple as having the jugglers walk inside as night approaches. But, alas, it was an N64 game that was made in less than a year with reused assets that still turned out to be absolutely incredible, so complaining seems almost petty. But I still want more dagnabit.
I like how he has full confidence that the big man will come back when he’s ready. He’s perfectly correct and he doesn’t even know it.

Well, at the very least it's reassuring that SOMEONE in all of clock town has some confidence in Kafei because nobody else seems to, besides Anju.

Always loved the bartender character. Such a cool guy
I just now realized that Mr. Barten’s name is a pun on “bar tender.” Also thanks for another great MM video!
I have played enough phoneix wright to get these puns in names
Yeah, in Japanese he is called "Suitomo" which is a mix between the words "waiter" and "bar tender". I know this because I just made it up.
I thought it was a pun in His beard. Beard IS Bart in german
@@danyhunselar9654 Oh, didn’t know that.

I've posted a video showing that off a while ago. In fact I have a lot of Majora's Mask content.

Its never a bad time to watch a MM video! Thank you.

I was always shocked at how completely wrong he is. If not for Link, Anju wouldn't be at the Inn, waiting for Kafei's return.
