Thanks for sharing your video.... it at least got me started on understanding what my end product should be. Polish up on your terminology of electrical wiring basics. Even as a novice electrician I caught myself shaking my head when listening to your terminology. Also, recommend using a continuity tester when identifying the wires. I have a wire plug where wires were reversed in the plug end from factory.

I'm glad you found it helpful. Filming such small details was a little beyond my scope at this point.

Good video thanks for the info. Soooo i have a carrera go track. I was gonna swap out for a variable power supply as well and make it where i can use other controllers. Is the carrera go power base good enough to work with just switching out the power cable the way you did? Or do i need to get rid of that power track base peice altogether? Little confused. The go track has the turbo button utilizing an extra resistor in the power base

I'm really not sure about how to wire a Carrera Go track. Sorry!

Interesting techniques you use boss. Where did you get variable power supply?

The easiest is Amazon sells an AC to DC adjustable power adapter that comes with many different plugs. I bought one and it just plugs in where the original power adapter goes. It does 6 watts on up to 36 watts and only cost $18.99 U.S.

I would have left enough wire on the brick in case you want to reuse it

It's funny you mention it because I honestly just wanted to use the prong wires for something else.

I agree. It only took me one time in life to figure that one out. A person might not need a use for what's on the other end of the wire at that point in time. But if you cut it to close it makes it "labor intensive" to use what's on the other end at another point in time. My dad always said the left over shit can be utilized later. RIP Dad.

It tastes awful but it works. I do get the full voltage from the wire.
