I'm coming from Biblical Hebrew trying to learn Modern. There is this strange construction I've seen in Modern Hebrew (strange from the point of view of Ancient Hebrew). Here's an example: מה שמו של הכלב It literally translates as "what is it's name, of the dog?" I would have said, following typical Biblical Hebrew: מה שם הכלב Can you comment on what's going on here?
