What does ASMR stand for?

What IS ASMR?
A feeling of well-being combined with a tingling sensation in the scalp and down the back of the neck, as experienced by some people in response to a specific gentle stimulus.
Examples of different ways to experience ASMR~
🧠Physical ASMR
Feeling calm, sleepy, tingly or satisfied while having your hair brushed/styled/touched, getting your forehead rubbed or your face touched softly while getting makeup applied. Someone softly tracing upon your back.
🗣Auditory ASMR
Feeling calm, sleepy, tingly or satisfied while listening to a particular sound that triggers you. There are several different sounds that may trigger this feeling; such as a whispered voice, typing on a keyboard, water swishing sounds, listening to someone write, turn pages in a book, tap on objects, etc.
👁Visual ASMR
Feeling calm, sleepy, tingly or satisfied while observing someone create art, slice foods, carve soap, wood, candles, trace over shapes/letters with their finger or a pointer etc.

as someone who loved going to the library to specifically listen to the librarian computer / book scanning sounds, i am OBSESSED with this
We are too alike my friend. Add to this experience the smell of older books, the way some books stick together, and typing into the book catalogue system to find your own book

Absolutely! That's how I am. My husband doesn't get it: we'll be sitting there doing nothing, he'll get on his phone, and I'll be upset. Then he's like, why are you upset? We weren't even talking? And I'm like, I know, but I was still enjoying you're company, hahaha

the first time I experienced ASMR was when we would go to the library in school and the librarian had these amazing gold bracelets that chimed together with the page turning I got in trouble for nearly falling asleep every timmmeee

There's something about your voice and whisper that gives me tingles in its own. I love these roleplays that mix in typing and talking. My favorites have been the dr and measuring which the pages somewhat sound like. Mix of both, its great! Thank you.

I dont know why but I kinda found it fun to actually see what she had typed. Mostly random letters and then other times actual words and numbers, Great sounds tho.
This was 1 of things that gave me asmr back in school days and I thought I was weird for getting tingly feelings that made me tired when sitting in the library, like I was the only person who got it
