- Jimmy Savile O.B.E. looks at the weekly pop chart from 25th February 1971 and introduces Atomic Rooster, ray Stevens, The Mixtures, Lynn Anderson, The Showstoppers, Perry Como, Dana, The Four Seasons, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and a Pans People dance sequence.
This full length version of The Chairmen of The Board classic (with timecode), was kindly provided by OFTD's Vintage Videos.
Another routine from one of the many TOTP episodes wiped by the BBC.
Nice number performed by the Pans People (including Flick Colby) strange kinda outfits, I don't remember ladies of the time wearing this kind of get up, but then again what do I know.
The picture is vastly superior and the sound is spot on, thanks to Vin for the redub and usual tweaking duties to me.
Unknown showing in High Quality MPEG2
Wonderful times. everyone loved Pans People, the music was great, it was just so much better than now. Glad I was around then.
Me too, I want to go back I hope when I part ways with this planet I can inhabit these days once again
Too right.
Pan’s People - nothing to do with pots and pans.
Here in the United States we didn't get the UK's tv stations. I was 18yrs old in 1971, and didn't watch much tv anyway. Watching this and listening to the music, makes me wish I was back in the 70's. The world today isn't as good. The girls look fabulous and the music is great. 9-1-24.
No fish lips, no ghastly tattoos Caterpillar eyebrows just natural beauty
and most important excellent song rip general johnson
@@kopynd1 Yes, fabulous voice that he had !
More like slug eyebrows. You might get away with those things at 20 but wait until you are 40.
As a senior this was the time to be alive 60s 70s and some of the 80 s great Times when women were women and men were men happy to be just themselves and not copies of others 😍😍😎😎😉😉💞💞
I love the song, and the Pan's People interpretation is lovely too. I saw this edition of TOTP, can't believe it was 48 years ago!!
And only 2 of the girls are still alive. Sobering thought

Pure talented beauty and loveliness and charm plus a great song!
Such a delightful routine. Yet another one that encapsulates the tenor of the 1970s: fun, sexy in a sweet way, playful, warm, uncomplicated days....
You watch a routine from pans people, and you think the 70s were trouble free.
Take me back to when I was 13 ! One of the tunes that started me on a life long love of soul music , koko
Such elegance and charm from these lovely ladies!
OMG 50 years ago.Great memories Great song Great dance routine.
These wonderful times will never come back.
I think their So Cute!! in this one. Exspecially Ruthy! Adorable outfits too!
Their, there, they’re - which is correct?
wish I could dance like they do...such pretty girls and lovely figures...
My beautiful girlfriend in 1975 had a hat a bit like the ones these ladies are wearing. She looked fantastic in it.
Yea a lot of us did Fab ..
I always loved the original six flick Dee Dee ruth louise andie babs nice to see this routine after all these years
And 4 of them are dead now......
@@kdp8133 yeah, done every awful deed : ) AGAIN ...
Yes ,three blonds and three brunettes . My favourite line up of the troupe too - of course that does in no way denigrate the lovely Cherry and equally lovely Sue who both came later .
You can almost smell 1970 watching this Clip.
Ruth , just beautiful 😍 ❤ xxx
She was my favourite too🥰
@@danw1374 I loved Babs blonde hair , Louise had long legs , but Ruth had the dark hair , and the moves that I was always drawn to watch above the others !
@sunshineofrays6977Ruth was the best dancer and she was gorgeous too! The sexiest!
0:34 That’s the smile of a ‘70s girl....
pans people always radiate such beauty, but this routine specifically also radiates so much happiness. i love it.
I own the record - Chairman of the Board. During winter and cold times, one went out in the latest fashion coat. In recent years, I’ve seen photos from England of girls hobbling around clutching themselves because they are freezing.
Elegent in motion.... beautiful dancing and music. They loved their work.
Really Really beautiful young women and from interviews they loved every minute of it, me and my 3 brothers would just sit there and at the end the usual chorus of "bloody hell".
Pans people.... Amazing.
And to think that scum Jimmy Savile was with these girls day by day.
1:54 Love this bit! 😍🥰
My Tuesday in 1970 in Jr. High school was named MARGARET!
only now in 2021 do we see it was a better time in the 60s and 70s even though we ware skint happy times .
The best the world had to offer Love these six beauties!
Ahh, the era of gorgeous men, Cassidy, Essex & Bolan. What happened......
Proper music, love it
Not a tattoo, bleached/coloured hair, as far as I can tell, or big dangly earrings in sight! Lovely.
totally brillsxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Invictus Records . Holland. - Dozier- Holland . Norman Johnson on lead locals .
Being a big fan of Ray Stevens I would've loved to have seen his performance of "Can We Get to That". From research I know that he performed that particular song from his 1970 album titled 'Unreal'.
+ACcountryFan Pans People did dance to 'Misty' thou
This is wild!
I like there hats very nice
who else got a ache in there right hand as a young school boy watching these foxy women dance ?????
So so much better than todays silly robotic dancers.
1:52 Adore this! 🥰
In the 1960s, the government of the United States in some places like New York tried to mandate everybody do their shopping on Tuesday. Why? We have no idea.
I still have the pic of my girlfriend wearing boots like theirs. She looked just as hot.
Ruth was my favourite.
General Johnson, great voice. Should’ve been bigger .
Yes , so distinctive . He sings his soul out !
yes .... unmistakable ..
see you next Tuesday, Mr Saville. (Gedditt?)
Got it and agree..
Ahuahu! fabulous fabulous double knockout😂
The general at his best
Innocence..with a capital l
Everything Is Tuesday today!
Great song and lovely dancing but those outfits are the pit’s
Ruth ❤
it just does not get any better
Hated hot gossip
@paulalexandermanley6479 I think Legs & Co were the other dance group, they were ok but not a patch on pans people 😉
I love Pan's People... but this song was impossible.
Butter1159 yes it's the original line up 5 came to Newcastle in 1972 to open a boutique
Is this orginal 6?..I dont see flick
Красотки!
just a thought but is there any chance that you can upload this in a reasonable quality? 360 really isn't good enough for a n excellent routine with a great costume that's probably already on a well below broadcast quality videotape. By the time its posted and compressed again on UA-cam it's ruined.
Babs💞
🤔
Before wokeism brilliant
Please remove Savilles name.
Sir Jimmy Saville OBE to be precise
Pervert & bully, great legacy eh?
Billy ~ you can't even spell the pervert's surname correctly !
Jimmy Saville nonce to be more precise.
Grrat to see these slappers clumping around in their prime.
Go down the local high street & you will see plenty of real slappers.
Oh do grow up child !
Lost your crayons.
Probably the only type of dames you could get....PP are class personified and you wouldn't have got within a mile of them......Real women and gorgeous with it!
These girls had a bit more class
Fantastic!
