Hi James, keep up the good work. I'm not so keen on the Sea-Gull brand per se. The chrono movement tho is in a lot if not all the Sugess watches of which I have one: the Zenith A384 homage that is beautifully finished and the caseback gives a great view of the handwound Seagull movement. The box and papers of Sugess look similar Sea-Gull. They could be the same factory even. Would love to see you review some Sugess!
The molecule responsible for that smell has been isolated and named chinesium. Its a rare molecule that can only be engineered in a lab and is not present in nature. All jokes aside, I just ordered the 819.12.6061. The 40mm version and look forward to seeing it in person.
I got this exact watch for my friend last year. I bought it as a bundle package (the watch and an extra 22mm bracelet) for a 112ish USD. My friend think the watch is good looking, however sometimes he feels the movement doesn't wind enough and stop sometimes during the night
Excellent review as usual James. Can't say I'm a huge fan of this watch. I'm glad you like it and hope you enjoy it. When will you be doing your first watch giveaway 😅
I would suggest at least a SEA-GULL watch (manufactured by SEA-GULL itself as well) using the ST2130 automatic movement, or better a GRAND SEIKO HI-BEAT dress watch, maybe with the calendar or not. They are totally different price points of course. However, for any of the 4 mentioned it is a sure thing money will be well spent. They are all exceptionally good for their prices.
Some of the SEA-GULL ST9xxx watches can cost close to 1 million dollars each with 2D/3D Tourbillon, Minute Repeater & etc. combined in one watch, similar to a PATEK PHILIPPE 5002 or 6002 but more complex.
Very clean, simple and well done. My only issue with seagull is that they heavily increased their prices even before the financial situation and they've priced themselves out of what I think they're worth. Imo. Great work with the review
I agree. I keep looking at their watches. They look great. But they are too expensive. I’m sure they are all very nice. But I can’t justify the price. That’s why getting this one at the lower price was so great.
I think this watch has an ST16 automatic movement in it, which has to be cheap. ST16 is the least expensive movement while ST9xxx (such as ST9250) are the most expensive ones from SEA-GULL.
I have wanted this watch for a long time and now that I have it I’m so happy that I finally bought it.
What is your wrist size, sir?
Cool looking Sea-Gull to me kinda has seiko cocktail time vibe can't wait for the review
Very cool. I’m really enjoying it
Nice watch.....simple, but nice.
Thanks Paul
What a beauty! 😍
It really is
love the look of the pipe pan dail..
I really enjoyed having this one in my collection
That does look very nice 👍
Thanks Martin

I have one in my wish list at the moment. They have a few nice watches available
Sea-Gull and Sugess are definitely not the same company.

Hahahaha. Yes a lot of effort to achieve this. New watch smell.

I have not had that issue but I’ll watch out for that and mention it in the full review if I have any issues with it.

Thank you. I’m not sure I could give this one away. I really like it

I do particularly like the dress watches that Sea-gull make. They are great looking, well made and reasonably priced.

Wow. It would be interesting to know who would spend that amount on a Sea-gull.
I’m sure they are amazing.

They are well respected movements and we are lucky that there is such a large choice of movement available.
