CRAZY Epoxy Dovetails in Curved Wood Tray Build

  • In this video I make what I believe if the first the world has ever seen. I Build A CRAZY Epoxy Dovetails in Curved Wood Tray. Now this may seem like a gimmick of a project, but it requires some refined techniques. I first use bent lamination to make the curved sides from a bunch of cherry strips. I then pour my clear ends from epoxy, and buff them to a polish. Lastly I hand cut dovetails in the epoxy, which I truly don't think anyone has been dumb enough to try before.

Do you want to get married. I am in love with you and your work. A man of my dreams. I can certainly dream up the projects. I have a hard time completing them sometimes, recruiting help, or even having someone on the same page that has a vision for art with wood to help guide me as to what I need to do or the tools I need to use. Not to mention that I have nothing in the way of tools that you have but dream of owning a shop such as your. For now it's just my basement studio. But one can dream right. Little by little I am learning and making my way into a man's world and I am loving it. A beautiful piece of wood is so satisfying. Thanks for all the videos and your also ❤️ sweet on the eyes to boot. Maybe I'll make a video for you. Lol

Love it! Playing with epoxy and wood is fun! Although I've only used the tabletop stuff for computer desks and a custom serving tray. I'm not sure about deep pour stuff, but tabletop isn't the easiest thing to polish as it's much harder than automotive clear by a lot. Usually I wet sand it up to 3000-5000 grit which takes a while because you want to be thorough in between grits of you'll see it.

I wood have suggested pouring the resin in wavy moulds to form the long sides and done the bacon-wood as the short ends...
Less chance of something going wrong during finishing...
P.S.: the resin pieces taking off on you during finishing is Karma's way of gently telling you to "Secure your work when using Power Tools"...
Just be thankful she was kind enough to allow the pieces to fly off to the side rather than smack you square in the Family Jewels...

John ... future project suggestion ... pander to many demographics ... multi-episode ... build a custom gaming rig using a powered driver's seat pulled from a luxury car (obv need voltage converter) mounted on a mobile base. An overhead arm holds monitor(s). Arm ("beam") mounts on mobile base behind seat and curves over it to suspend monitor(s) in front of gamer. Powered seat = any gamer will fit. Computer/converter.etc. mounts behind chair, and (tough part) this rig can mount Xbox/PS4 or PC, with HOTAS or driving wheels with pedals also mounted. Obv. needs room for a mouse pad and kb. It would handle every game in the universe.
    Your name will be L E G E N D!
(Srsly it could really drive view counts ... gamers are legion).

Hey! At the end of your videos, can you put the video recommendations in just a little bit closer to the end? When they pop up now, they almost completely block the shots of the finished projects. For example, in this video, I only saw what half to the tray looked like because the recomd's came up so early that they blocked almost half of the left side of the screen.
