I actually got VERY lucky and found a full grown Cebu Blue at the Walmart in Pittsburgh last year for $14!! I've had it my bathroom hanging from my shower curtain rod and BOY OH BOY did it grow!! The vines are literally down to the floor and I have made 3 new plants from it!! I named her Blue Ivy 😍 I wish I could post before and after pictures. It's an amazing plant 😁
Same! I got a huge hanging basket there and I love it!~
I almost didn’t watch this cause I thought I already knew everything about the cebu blue but I’m glad I did cause I had no idea the adult leaves are fenestrated! Thanks, Nick!!
Nick!!! Thank you for pronouncing Cebu correctly!!! I’m from Cebu and it’s been paining me to hear everyone on Plantube mispronounce the name of our island 🥲
So it is not Cēbu blue than? i always thought the "e" sounded like a long e (do you know what i mean)?
Cebu Blue started my Jungle of like 160 plants and counting i love the look and potential of a Cebu blue and that Teal color is to die for
It took me a bit to realize mine didn't like too much sun. It now lives happily hanging alongside my Monstera siltepecana. They're all entwined and in love.
Love the idea of a weekly plant. Interesting about the mature leaves. I have never seen that before. Thanks for new info!
Thanks for the tips! Smaller 4" pots are decently priced in my region and I've been on the lookout for a good deal 🌱
Take a shot every time Nick says “blue glockus color”!!!
Glaucous.
I mean honestly, haven't you ever heard of a Glaucous Gull?! 😉
Love the plant of the week videos :) I’m getting to a point that I’m pretty comfortable with my plants but many of your earlier ones really helped me out and hopefully these can help some others.!
Omg YAS Plant king!! I loved these videos!! Thank you for bringing them back!
I remember seeing them in my big box stores like Lowes many years ago and I never got one because at the time I thought they looked kinda boring. The next thing I knew people were selling two leaf cuttings for $40+ online, it took me a few years later till I could find a decent sized lush one for $22.
So excited to see what's next in this series!!❤
Yes Plant of the Week! Thank you
I saw these at Logee's the other day! So beautiful, I love the blue color of the leaves.
Plant of the week is coming back yeyyy!!!!!!!!
Thanks Nick
I didn’t know the
Mature leaves looked like that!
That’s so cool 😎
Is this a new series! I love it! This means more vids from you!
DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Enjoy this series so much 😊
Hi Nick! I'm glad you did this video on the cebu blue. It's one of my favorite plants. I got it last year at Walmart for $16.98 in a 6" pot. I just cut it back and repotted it recently. I hope it likes the repot as I'd hate to loose it. I do have a lot of cuttings in water that I need to go through. I didn't realize the leaves will split as they get bigger. I guess I need to get it on a moss pole asap! I'm looking forward to your Plant Of The Week videos. Your videos are always so helpful. Thank you so much for sharing!
I got mine from a plant trade. Gave her big leaves hoya for a micans last year and she even add a cutting of Cebu Blue👍. I have it in my south west window and it really taking all the heat🥰 the leaves are silvery blue. No signs of burns🤗 very easy plant.
You're so knowledgeable, Nick! I always learn a lot with your videos 😊
Due to a lack of plant knowledge, I used a large pocket metal wall hanger. No drainage but really deep. It’s doing great and I only water two weeks or so. Strange but true. Love ya Nick. Wonderful videos!
Thank you for more plant of the week video’s!
I love Cebu Blue and was so happy to get mine from a local purge affordably. 💚
My Cebu blue & I have an understanding. I ignore it and it grows.
Aaahhh!! I was going to buy this next!! Great timing!
I got mine just yesterday!!! Thanks for the video!❤️
This is perfect timing! I have one of these and it's yards and yards of stem with no leaves. So I ordered another one because they're pretty cheap here and after your video I know that the reason it looks so terrible is because it's hanging in a window in Houston Texas! So I just chopped it to hell and I have about 30 cuttings and my new one is in an East window. Hopefully this will all work out and I'll have at least two or three beautiful plants. I thought maybe this was like begonias which just dropped it as soon as they hit my front door and I have no idea why. Thanks so much!
Your cebus are always so pretty. Your plants are why I’ve been looking for cebu for almost a year. Finally have a couple now lol. Even got the Baltic blue because why not?
This video showed up at the perfect time. A friend just surprised me with a Cebu Blue. 💙
Thank you so much i just bought one and in my area it was $40 for a 6 in pot with not many hanging. But i love it and your tips are great thanks again
Perfect timing! I just got 4 cuttings in💗✅
I got 2 at Kroger for around 10 dollars!!! They are huge now and I love them!!
I paid a ridic amount for mine.. it then started to hate me so I took some cuttings and switched it to leca. It has grown and seems to love me again. So glad I took the cuttings because now spring is here (AU) it'll end up nice and full. Goal is to get to the mature leaf level.. they are so damn beautiful!
Oh well, glad you’ve mentioned Cebu Island, it’s where I’m originally from! I’m now in Wellington NZ 🇳🇿 but sad to say, it is still pricey here for 5 leaves you can get for NZ $250
Insane price
Thanks Nick! Great tips
Thanks,my friend,for more great information
All the best
Thank you for saying Cebu properly ❤️
I absolutely love your channels wish I could get some starts from you love all your plants
Easy to care and propagate. I had a lot of them. Happy watching from the Philippines.
The Philippines??? Would You Watch Videos By Plants are my Therapy... HE Is Trying To Grow His UA-cam Channel To Help Children/Families Of The Philippines!!! HE Was Focusing On Plants BEFORE And Got A LOT Of Views... HE Can Use A Lot Of Views Again SO He Can Help The Little Princes And Princesses Of The Philippines!!!
This is truly one of my favorite plants i own! it's such a fast grower and the blue color is so unique, i think it's incredible!
I love blue plants, cacti or foliage 💙
I got a small 5 leaf rooted cutting for $25! I’m in Ontario Canada, haven’t been able to find cebu blue in the local big box stores or house plant stores near me but i fount this one on facebook market place!
Cebu Blue is my favorite favorite plant. I have 15 5-8 in pots and three 6in full cutting pots. In the spring I'm going to wall of Cebu. Some climbing up a wall and some hanging down.
The runner info is what I looked this up for, thank you.
You know, I can grow golden pothos like crazy down here in Florida. The vines on the side fence have leaves the size of my head. That said I've managed to kill FIVE of the cebu blue so far! I give up. :(
I just received mine today. A small one but it is so pretty
*Hermione voice*
“It’s epi-PREM-num, not e-PEPPER-num”🪄
Put the leafless vines in moss or pearlite ❤️
Omg as if u knew it.. i bought my first cebu blue today :o they're quite rare to find here in germany but i got a small propagation from somebody :3
So do you recommend your cuttings in moss or water or straight into soil?
I’m getting one today!!!
£20 for a 60cm one with a coir pole…I can’t wait 🥰
I moved houses and my cebu was never the same. I've got several proportions going to try to find what works. All my other pothos just doing fine.
have you seen the Epipremnum Baltic blue cultivar? I wonder if it's more like regular pinnatum or more like Cebu blue. I see that it fenestrates faster than Cebu so it might be a cool plant to grow.
Thanks for the tips. I paid $35 for 4in as of 11/10/21. Can you do a vid on full-time/ part-time jobs for plant enthusiast?
I got one at Walmart 2 winters ago and hung out outside on my deck in dappled shade with some full western afternoon sun and it grew to the ground from the 2nd story and filled the pot entirely with roots. It has just exploded with growth since I bought it. Mine is much blue than yours unless the colors come through differently. In my experience this plant is nearly bullet proof unless you excessively over water. It propogates like a weed. I have no idea why it's "rare".
Hi. Great video! Would you suggest distilled water? My well water is very hard in my area. Thank you.
💚💚
I just found a super full 8 inch basket for $18 at Walmart! I’m so happy
'Cebu Blue' actually shoots off those runners when it's grown in a hanging form rather than allowed to climb, it's attempting to search for something to climb up as that's the preferred way for epipremnum to grow. The longer the 'Cebu Blue' gets the smaller the leaves will get going down the vine and eventually it will stop putting out leaves. You can trim the runners and the plant will grow bushier instead of leggy.
That's what I do with mine. I don't currently have a trellis so I have to cut off long nearly leafless stems every four to six months.
That’s good advice. Thank you. Immune is growing long stems with no leaves. I didn’t know it wont eventually grow at all. So if I just cut it off, it will grow fuller instead? I actually would prefer that look.
@@heartjt Yes the plant will eventually start growing new branches instead of trying to grow a smaller vine straight down. You can also take some of the vines that are growing down and place them on top of the soil and the aerial roots will eventually root in the soil, you can pin them with a bobby pin into the soil. It makes the plant appear fuller.
Could you do a video on how you fertilize your plants? I end up burning my leaves every time I fertilize, even if I give the plant a good flush of water. I'd love to hear how you do it! 😊
I keep mine at work in a massive south facing window. My desk is about 15 feet away, I don't know if it will do well at my desk instead?
🌿💚
Morning Nick
Literally just got a couple of these plants a week and a half ago.
👌🌿
I bought clipping and now the leave are curling. It in water rn
But it cold where I'm at ,could that be the problem
placed my cuttings on a pole and waiting for it to fenestrate
I had a hard time propagating these in water, lost a quite a few to rot and they took a several weeks to start growing roots, most showed new leaf growth before root growth.
really!? that's surprising. I usually only propagate mine in water and haven't had any rot yet. maybe change the water more frequently? I try and change it at least once every two weeks!
I have been rooting my cuttings in perlite. My mama plant grows like a weed and I am forever chopping it. I just can not let it get over 5 foot tall.
@@approachableplantsbyjessie495 this was the first time I propped but I did a bunch and had a lot fail. I think it could have been due to the existing aerial roots some of the cuttings had because that’s what seemed to rot mostly but then I had a few that it was the stems, and some were even weeks later after there was already new roots and growth. I change the water pretty often, probably once to twice a week depending. I let my cuttings dry out before putting in water, I’m wondering if I didn’t let these callous over enough
How much sun did they get?
good stuff! am considering getting one this spring, glad to get this video in my feed!
Got this (one strand , about 8 leaves in a 4 inch pot) today! $16 Canadian dollars :)
Could the next plant of the week be nepenthes?
I absolutely love my cebu blue, but I have noticed that I am constantly fighting spider mites on them! What the heck? Any advice to permanently get rid of the leaf sucking jerks? I’ve washed the entire plant, repotted it, used dead bug, and I even went so far as to use home defense on the entire plant! And I just found more tiny webbing this morning! I can’t just get rid of the plants, (I have 2 smaller ones) they’re part of my “wish plant” bucket list and I paid over $40 last year for a tiny 3” pot which I split into 2 - 4” pots once it got bigger to combat the spider mites earlier this summer. I’ve seriously been fighting spider mites on this plant for months. I do have the bonide houseplant powder, but I don’t know how to use it, I’ve heard if you use too much you can kill the plant. Please help me!!!
My cebu blue gets really leggy. I just recently chopped it. I'd love to get my hands on the aurea and albo too but they're very expensive right now, at least where i am.
Mine also gets really leggy. I'm contemplating another haircut for it. The leafless nodes do root and produce leaves in damp perlite inside some sort of prop box / container if you are interested in doing that and have the patience for it.
Good luck! The albo is coming down here but not the aurea. I think it all has to do with bone or two seller in the area having a well established mother
Mine gets very leggy too, even after pruning it 😟. Would anyone happen to know some reason why it gets leggy? Besides sunlight, because I've placed it in high and low light and still leggy, no leaves 😢
@@martihenderson5015 I've done that too. Also moved it from a hanging basket to a coco pole. Still leggy. What pains me is that i got it as a mature plant then it kinda died down. And when it sprouted again, it's back to juvenile.
Hi Nick. A while back you showed a plant that looks like it’s walking. It looked like it had 4 “legs” like a dog. Could you please tell me the name or the video you have it in?
I am guessing you are talking about walking sansevieria or sansevieria pinguicula.
Nick made me buy it. 😂 Now all I have to do to wait like several years till it decides to "walk".
If ur broke af n want this plant n can't find it there are listed 2 cuttings for like $4 on Etsy and they actually gave me 3 there are many sellers who do the few cuttings for very very cheap and i just water propagate to start n they go fast ☺️
Ola! Boa tarde! Sou do Brasil e nao encontro nos Garden a Cebu blue, sou apaixonada nesta planta!.
My cebu is the only pothos of my six varieties that apparently hates me! Is there something I’m missing? Does it have unique requirements from the rest of it’s family?!? Help, please!!!
This is my easy care plant I can’t keep alive!
funny how I've been looking for this type of pothos here in Cebu and didn't find any. lol
If I don't water mine enough, leaves begin to yellow. Mine also has ridiculously long aerial roots that have wrapped themselves into tortured circles around the drip tray of the basket. Dreading the repot.
Mine maybe suffered a lot since I put it at window seal facing east. Many of its leaves get yellow since September 😭
Plant light
Just got mine today. It was a bunch of leaves.
Mine isnt blue looking.
250$ for an eight leaf plant here in New Zealand
A strand (3-6 lvs) of cebu costs ~$25, in my coutry at least
Edit:unrooted, if you want a rooted on +$15
Lulu's leaves said the plant community is dying. Is that true? And can you touch on this subject? Please?
I was scrolling and her channel came up.
Grew super fast during the pandemic, now it’s thinning out again as people go back to work and their normal lives
Epi premnum
Is this real a cebu blue? Then where is blueish?
Does anyone have ideas for helping the people in Cebu, where this plant came from? They just got hit with a massive typhoon and it looks pretty bad. It would be cool if the plant community can do something to help but I'm not sure how. Anyone got ideas?
Pakauwaw ra ka!
Oh no.
A plant auction would be nice!
Why do they always look hungry. It looks like it has chlorosis/iron deficiency
