Carbon is also my favorite NFS of all time. It’s atmosphere, the tuning mechanics (AutoSculpt) are still hands down the best I‘ve seen in a racing game, but I completely understand its flaws and wish EA had given BlackBox one more year of development. This and Underground 2 are my favorite.
I rly hate that the game is that short and that easy, u can literally beat the game using two tier 1 cars (The camaro and the OP 240SX) if not that shit, i think it would be a great game, which is why i rly like battle royale mod with all its shitty optimization, btw great vid mate, its rly cool to see how much effort put in these
Also they did the literally worst shit you could imagine doing to a soundtrack, u put it all in freemode driving, and most of the good tracks are for muscle cars only, try out Metro Riots - Thee small faces There are good tracks but they're all locked behind freeroaming and Checkpoint races, those are literally the two most boring shits in the game
Yeah, the longevity of the game and overall difficulty took a massive nosedive compared to MW. Carbon was definitely rushed as hell to utilize the drifting hype from Tokyo Drift, there's just no avoiding that.
I knew that the electronic music is weaker in Carbon compared to MW and UG1&2. I wasnt crazy! Weirdly enough, the rap songs on Carbon has more strong instrumental sounds than the electronic songs. like Hype Boys, Bounce (sounds like You'll Be Under My Wheels from MW, imo), Love Me Or Hate Me, After Party. the instrumental for some of the rap songs on Carbon did not fail.
First comment. Bwahahaha. I love the black box era of games, the lore behind them, and all the content still being created for these relics. Thanks for the video.!
Not quite. In 2003 a game called Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 3 was pitched around. It wasn't Most Wanted, it was a direct sequel to HP2. The game was significantly changed around, and eventually morphed into MW at the end of 2003, but the actual development didn't start until January of 2004. I guess if you want to be pedantic, technically the idea for MW did appear in late 2003, but initial HP3 pitch was significantly different from the eventual MW concept, so it's not really the same game. Really the only similarity between the two is presence of police, everything else has been changed from the ground up.
Probably not soon. I never played Pro Street or Shift games, so next one in NFS series is probably going to be Hot Pursuit 2010. I'm probably gonna do ProStreet at some point down the line, just not immediately. Currently working on Crysis 2 episode.

Yeah, kind of sas Carbon was so rushed. Had they given it more time, it easily could've eclipsed MW as the best NFS ever.

The difference between manual and automatic gear systems is up the fucking moon, the corvette in manual smokes literally everything

Yeah, Black Box imo was the best NFS era. Well, Hot Pursuit 2010 by Criterion was also good, but the rest since then are meh.
Most wanted begun devolepment mid 2003

Yeah Carbon was just really rushed in my opinion.
