I am seriously thinking of building the Zoom98 as my first custom keyboard. I have been using the same keyboard for 20 years and never thought about replacing it until I spilled a beer on it a couple of weeks ago. I replaced it with a basic Logitech K845ch mechanical full size keyboard with Cherry Blue switches. I was amazed at the improvement over my 20 year old dinosaur. Now I've been bitten by the custom keyboard bug and have spent the last couple of weeks getting up to speed about them. I was all set to order the Zoom 98 until I heard a Zoom 109 is going to be released. Now I'm torn. Thanks for the video. It was very helpful.

I just imagine that as a keyboard youtuber seeing a near full size entry custom would almost be a bummer just for the fact that there’s so many more switches to remove for sounds tests, I commend your commitment man!! I’d also dread so many stabs, haha! These days I’m like, split everything (except space bar)! Genuinely happy to see more custom options for these larger layouts for those that want them!

Which one offers a better experience/is a better keyboard, zoom98 vs qk100? Would you recommend one over the other if both options are available (i know you mentioned that the zoom98 is great if you missed out on the qk100, but extras for the qk100 are starting to be available and I am really torn). I like how the qk100 is a bit more compact, and the zoom98 height is a bit of a concern for me (is it comfortable to type for ling periods?), but I love the overall look of the zoom98 with the underflow. Thanks in advance.
Yeah I like the qk better, but it’s because it offers stand alone value. The zoom feels like the other zoom boards. If you have one of those already I would go with qk. If not your not really missing out on anything but the design

Any news on the upcoming Zoom 109? It's either the 98 or the 109 for me. I still don't know how the 109 layout is gonna be like so I have no idea whether or not to get this or wait for the 109
I have the same dilemma. I was all ready to buy the Zoom 98 and then I heard a 109 version was on the horizon. Now I'm torn.
Unfortunately, I know nothing of what comes for that one. I say if this has what you are looking for get it, but if your willing to wait for possible new and improved features just wait. It seems like the newer boards are always worth waiting for nowadays.
Just remember there is still a wait time after you buy. So you may be waiting extra long for the 109
im guessing the 109 will come out 1 yr after the 98 ships. are you okay to wait that long? at the end of the day its a business and they would try to avoid cannibalizing sales since the 98 and 109 crowd have overlap. if you look the the history of releases, its spaced out each year.
zoom65 = 2022
zoom75 = 2023
zoom98 = 2024
zoom109 = 2025?

I like the second choice cause you can move the zoom pad if you need more room. But its pricier
