I like the idea that they selling point of Silent Hill Downpour was "but you play a criminal this time!!" while James Sunderland is just sitting there nervously sweating going "oh yes the series has never had a main character that did anything illegal before....unrelated but.. just dont look in the back seat of my car..." XD
That makes sense 😅 but I think the main difference was you don’t find out what James did till the very end, whereas Downpour, you’re outright told you play as a criminal. When you start 2, having never played, you think he’s a general everyday MC looking for his wife.
Dang just a few days past halloween, but oh well better late then never. Also I had such a blast watching you and liam play silent hill 2, you know what they say bout the clurb
Matt, I happen to know some worthwhile disasters of 2024 that are absolutely worthy of "Wha Happun?" territory. Here are a couple of them that I've outlined for future episodes: The first one: One of the oldest gaming magazine and journalist companies went under in August 2, 2024. The company? GameInformer, founded in Minnesota in the year 1991. The parent company, GameStop, killed the entire company, destroyed every single link to the publication's website, and laid off EVERYONE. They made 367 magazines, all in a month-long format, over 33 years. You've mentioned this publication time and time again, many times, on plenty of What Happened episodes, and this one is a memoir for a fallen comrade. RIP GameInformer. The second one: Remember The Day Before? That absolute trash excuse of a scam game which was loaded with store-bought assets and was sold for $40? There's a much worse, high-profile version of this. Enter Sony's Concord, a hero shooter that was shut down just 11 DAYS AFTER LAUNCH. Seriously, I am not making this up! Worse, this wasn't a scam of any kind. This game spent eight years in development and costed a staggering $100 million to develop, on top of being a completely functional game! And unlike other free-to-play titles, Concord had a $40 price tag, looked unappealing and failed to catch on. This is sad, because Concord could've been better. It's really no wonder just 660 people ever played this game and then the entire game was deserted.
2:29:49 you look great matt, whatever you're doing, keep it up! Didnt recognize you but you look great. Quouting (spelling??) from your initial debut wtf happened channel but a long time fan since tbfp, keep up the great work!
Sinking City definitely scores highest. That was a farce from all angles. The game was terrible, plus the scrapping between publisher and developer was impressive.
I played the sinking City a while back and overall I thought it was a fun atmospheric and enjoyable game. 7.5/10 to 8/10 yep it's janky at times but overall a good game no masterpiece but decent.
I didn't get that to they say it can only run at 30fps because of Xbox limitations and can't run at 60fps but I did some research and it means it can't run at 60fps just 30fps crazy it can't run like a 4060ti idk either bro
It wasn't just the stealth sections that were bad in los2. The city/future setting was ugly and lacked any detail. It felt like going back to an early PS2 or Xbox game

I guess the Halloween festivities aren't quite over yet...we have four more hours' worth of spooky goodness to check out!
Bless you matt, I have furniture to assemble today
Now that the studio behind Concord shut down, now is the perfect time to start forming a Concord episode! Love your content Matt!
This is the best Dia de los Muertos special! :D
The only way this would be better is if Matt followed Konami's example and released it in March
HA
This really helps insomnia in a good way
You can’t avoid talking about Concord forever, blue and purple skeleton gamer UA-camr.
Omg... , simon the sorcerer!!!! I had a game on the 3dp BACK in the day that I haven't been able to remember. Dude, cheers to that.
Friday the 13th was so much fun, miss playing it at its peak, so many fun people I met online playing it
8:58 The absolute gasp I made hearing that legend’s name, brought back so many memories from Inside Gaming.
Are you able to feature Wish on this series?
I hope you do, the things that went on behind the scenes have got "What Happened?" written all over them.
Always down for 4+ hour long videos
Hell yeah, love me a What Happun binge!
Is it weird I legit forgot you HAVEN'T done Callisto Protocol?
I was waiting for that head-first pun for like 5 minutes
Dang just a few days past halloween, but oh well better late then never. Also I had such a blast watching you and liam play silent hill 2, you know what they say bout the clurb
I don't know what the song is called, but it kicks in at 8:27, and I found myself *immediately* think of Zullie the Witch's videos. xD

Happy Day of the Dead, everyone!

54:28 i noticed for the first time the gold tooth swaps positions cuz the head is mirrored and i can't unsee it
Wayne Barlow designs went too far? But they for some reason still allowed a straight up naked succubus characters.
Friday the 13th one of the best online games ever made hope hey make a follow up and what about evil dead the game they just abandoned it ???
A little late to the party, but we still have plenty of candy to hand out
Love this thanks
Matt ☘️☘️☘️☘️
Concord should get it's own wha happun episode
4 hours of the most unhinged horror video game development stories to help me sleep? I doubt that, and I think of 4 hours worth of reasons why.
Ever heard of Malice? The game that killed the creators of Star Fox. Now that is a development hell sh*tshow worth looking at.
Sinking City definitely scores highest. That was a farce from all angles. The game was terrible, plus the scrapping between publisher and developer was impressive.
I am still surprised Dead Island 2 came out as a fun game. Not saying it is great or perfect, but I actually had fun with its melee
What happened: Ok we’re here and we got a whole movie size video for Halloween… what do AU mean it’s November
Advance Wars would be a solid pick. Every game had its own problems as far back as the first’s unfortunate release window
Do an episode on Disney’s Wish.
Ah yes. Mercurysteam. The company that closed its doors and somehow gave us the best 2D metroid game afterward.
Mercury Steam never closed?
@@MattMcMuscles it was sarcasm :)
I'm bummed Splatterhouse didn't make this list
Korn did made sense for silent hill with themes of silent hill
Love this hahaha!
You got me curious matt...who's your crazy uncle? 😂
Happy Hallo-wait…Happy Turkey Month!
Well, What hapun Concord is coming soon, that's going to be spooky!
21:48 i still have my copy of that GameFan issue
Bro I always thought your voice would be perfect to go to sleep to and wished you would make a lengthy video like this. Ily Matt ❤️
Do Steel 1997 next!
It's not fight of the furrys it's fury of the furries
Can you do Kamen Rider the First. Please
Please and thank you 🦗

Thank goodness the section of mourning for the Dead Space franchise has aged poorly.
Well this was fun
yay

Can we get a What Happened on Twin Caliber? That game was pushed here as a massive new era in shooter games but turned out to be a brown, pooey mess.
Wha happun 😊
What happened 🗿
Have you done vampire rain on the original xbox. Possibly the worst game ever made
