It's kinda crazy how rare it is to see someone go from nothing to famous and be unaffected by it. Markiplier, PewdiePie and Jacksepticeye to name a few have been doing content creation for years rose really high in popularity and have just been coasting since. They've actually only gotten better as the years go on.

well it was true, he got more viewers if he was playing really good. So he thinks that being good at the game is what you need to get viewers. But for Kai and others it's about being entertaining even if you are really bad at the game. You can die in minecraft 1000 times and be really bad and still have 100k viewers, being good is irrelevant if you are entertaining.

Audiences were important but they are not loyal nor are they permanent, you can have a stronger grip on the industry through connections though.
I mean if I like Streamer A and Streamer B and then streamer A talks sht about streamer B. I'm gonna think less about streamer A. Obviously it's not a black and white argument, there's lots of nuances, but it makes sense to me.
Sure the audience decide that but the audience also reflects the streamers believe's. So If streamer A hates streamer B than the audience of streamer A will have more haters too.

It’s honestly really sad.. I used to watch ninja back when he was only around 200k subs in halo reach. He had an infectious positive and hyper energy. All these big time streamers brag about their "Views", I've heard asmon referring to people as "small streamers that get low views," as well. When you never accomplished anything difficult like never got a engineering degree or something else difficult, you tend to give value to things that don't matter. I've seen it all my life.
