We own an ID.6 in China, which is quite similar to the ID.5 shown here. It's an absolute joy to use. Driving has never been so effortless and smooth. The infortainment system might be limited, but it's so simple - really no way to get lost in the menu system. Simply works.
This is a good video, thank you. I like your rating system at the end. If you're considering a rating system in all reviews, I think it is a good idea.
Great video and useful content for experienced and newbie EV drivers. What happened to the video though? A few rows of pixels from the left have found their way to the right of the video which I find is really distracting
Well done, I like the new mega test format! There should be an entertainment section in the test as well - e.g. show how video can be played in the ID software.
Great information on the ID5. We have the Cupra Born 77kwh variant with the Michelin Pilot Sport EV wider tyres and we found the load in the car as well as the tyres impacts range as we previously had the V2 58kwh variant with smaller wheels.
Nice review , I am getting this car in a few weeks. I was very concerned after watching other reviews that bashed at it based on it price. But your review looks to be a very honest review just what i was after. I think every seems to expect EV to be as fast as a tesla.
Great test 👌thank you:) I have the same car with 3.0.0 software, and car not offering the update. Any idea, proposal how could I trigger the car for update ? Thanks 😊
Great review as always :), thank you. My wishlist to the VW guys, now that you fixed the software problem: please update the drive train with better motors - double the power and efficiency so that you become competitive.
Loss in SOC is way more accurate to calculate range than the AVG consumption. But overall the city test is way too short and is different in every city and how you drive. It is just an example
What I did not understand is when telling about gesture control on the screen, he is saying "that is why the controls [for volume and temperature] are not illuminated". Those should of course be illuminated, and I can not understand this argument.
@@BatteryLife At lesast they will eventually be illuminated in newer models in the future. I would prefer illumination over gesture control every day of the week. No illumination is plain stupid.
Went to Volkswagen: Can I test the car ? No, it's not available...how much for the full optioned version ? around 65K with no promo, delivery time ? 12 months if you're lucky ! then I decided to go check on the Audi Q4...worst possible experience I've ever had at a dealer !!! Two days later at Tesla: Hi can I try the Model Y? Sure here's an appointment ! Can I configure the car ? Sir all is included unless you need the advanced Auto Pilot, how much for the long range version ? 55K, Delivery time ? About a month ! I mean look, I'm not saying Volkswagen group sucks but, Volkswagen group sucks ! Especially their Audi sellers wow, such despicable people.
I've got to be honest, I'm ordering the ID5 but down to the look of the car because when I went into the dealership it's the worst seevice I've ever had. I've been in Nissan, BMW, Lexus and Ford and Volkswagen was a joke tbh.
Lol i know what you mean, For 2 weeks until my ID.3 was ready for myself to collect my dealership gave me an ID.5 to drive / review. While parked next to a colleague’s Mazda 2 what had 16in Alloys fitted his alloys looked 10in compared to the ID.5’s 20in one’s due to what was a size illusion.
In my 60s ,do or is it really necessary to have all this frivalous tec , seems so utterly nerdy . Sent men to the actual moon over 50 yrs ago , now the car has more fiddly tec crap just to get down the road and park up . Lol
I don’t understand how can anyone consider buying this car. It’s not pretty, not efficient, not fast in charge, horrible infotainment, plasticish all around and with a price to run as fast as Forrest Gump. Honestly for me it’s id garbage.
Like the shape , Want to drive one , if it drives well and I can feel okay with the info screens i want to buy a yr old one for about 18 k £ less than new RRP

What a good and informative review. Thanks for your work on this 🙏
Dream car, think can be the best for mr

Really a great video, keep up!
Your review was very detailed and helpful.thank you
Thank you this could be useful if we get this car
Great review, many thanks
Ive seen a couple of these in the uk recently they are quite nice looking to me.

Best review I have seen a bit technical but interesting
can you heat up the car or cool the car when plugged in at home before you go to work if you dont have a heat pump?
Absolutely yes. Heat pump has nothing to do with the cabin temp
Yes
How did you find the ID.4 GTX second time around?
lots of good info to consider 😅😅😅
How is this different to the ID4? Looks pretty much like competing with each other to me
4:21 Consumption really was 15.8 😅
City drive with 135.1 Wh/km is much more than 450km range
Loss in SOC is way more accurate to calculate range than the AVG consumption.

They can't be since they preferred the gesture control infrared lights to be there.

👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😍😍😍😍😍
🙂🙂🙂👍
Mir gehts nicht in den Kopf, dass der teurer ist als ID4, später kam aber dann in der Basis ÜBER 10s 0-100 km/h hat?! 🤯
Weil der id5 Standard mit mehr Ausstattung kommt. Grosse Batterie, Alufelgen,...

Has anyone mentioned the amount of failed ID cars due to a battery pump failure?
Never heard of that.
The wheels look too big

yes you do. It is awesome ;)
Tesla is the way to go
Not if you like it comfortable 😉

It drives amazing. For some people that is more important than other things.
@@BatteryLife I agree. But there are lots of options in the market way cheaper that also runs amazing. Honestly VW could/should do better that this.
@@BatteryLife I know an airline pilot who choose this model recently just because it's a perfect cockpit with comfortable driving .

70000 euros for 330 ish kms on highway...guys is toooo much...
