Apple's cases are overpriced and not particularly good (I've tried both silicon and leather). Silicon ones don't last long, are not particularly sturdy nor do they protect the phone very well. Leather ones last a reasonable amount of time but don't offer much protection. Wasn't much leather in them at least for the last few years (touch, smell test). No loss.

I saw what you referred to on the iPhone comparison page, but when you google portrait editing, a link to apple support page shows up where they mention that changing photo mode to portrait feature is only for 15 models. Changing focus point in a portrait is the only feature shared with iphone 13 and later, while other updates are applicable for older iPhone as well. Someone with iPhone 13 running ios17 can verify if they can convert photos to portrait
I can’t edit a normal photo to be a portrait as well on my 13 pro max. This “feature” is locked by software for the 15 models only. But you can use for example the app “Focus” to add blur to the background.
I was about to comment on #9. Yeah you can only change the focus of the already portrait photo in your album but not add portrait depth effect of any images.

You’re #9 might not be accurate, I have a 14P Max and I’ve tried to take a regular photo and adjust depth as shown and it won’t do it. Apples compare iPhone section says “next generation portrait” for the 15P and just portrait for the 14P. If you’ve been able to adjust depth on regular photo show us or tell us how please. Same aperture lens but also same sensor and pixel size. iPhone 15's aperture is larger but the sensor is smaller. 2 micron pixels on the 15, 2.44 micron pixels on 14 Pro/15 Pro. If you do the math with the size of the pixels when binned to 12, compared to the number of pixels, the 15 has about a 1/1.5" sensor and the other two have 1/1.28", quite a bit larger!
You said that even the 13 &14 pro's will get that option where you can turn a normal photo into a portrait photo. I dont see that option on my 14 pro max, are you sure this is true ? I can only control the focus and depth if I take a photo in portrait mode, for normalt photos it's not possible to add the portrait effect after.

It often take a bit longer to make an accurate testing of the battery life. but in general there weren’t much of a difference, other than in terms of gaming, the 15 pro max is apparently better in terms of battery in that category.
I’m probably going to stick with my 12 pro max till next year, haven’t had a good year health wise so not really getting the full use (days out/ photos etc) 🙏💪👍
The worst year to buy an iphone. I was about to upgrade from my 14 pro max but it feels like even apple themselves were forced to release this 15 series. They're actually working on 16 Ultra more. 16 & 17 will be the game changer for sure.
To me, the standard 15 seems the best value with the most upgrades - it seems to have gained some Pro features. The 15 Pro Max has the x5 zoom and better stabilisation but the standard 15 Pro seems not to have gained much - especially camera wise. Pity, since the 15 Pro is the one I was considering.

It's not true that you can add portrait mode after the fact on older phones - you can change the focus on existing portrait photos, like they showed in the keynote, but. you can't make a non-portrait mode photo into a portrait mode one. I also think it's BS that this new "next generation portrait mode" is not coming to the 14 Pro - since it has the same SOC as the regular 15 and a better or similar 48MP sensor - Apple should allow this to come last years pro phones instead of shitting on their pro customers.

It’s best to check with your service provider to see trade in status. Some are straight across some have huge buy back offers. Depends on carrier. This year it seams Apple has done deals with cell providers

Honestly the iPhone 15 Pro is a disappointing update, particularly in the camera department. They need to increase the megapixels to 48MP on all sensors at a minimum, and maybe the main camera should be 64MP or even 108MP. They have the processing power with the A17 Pro, but I feel as though it is under utilised. I’ll hold onto the 13 Pro Max for now, I see little reason to upgrade until they improve the cameras, make the dynamic island smaller and maybe make a slightly bigger phone (6.9 inch iPhone Ultra?)

No actually, if you really closely look at the specs on that keynote, the sensor and lens both in the 14 Pro and 15 Pro are identical - f/1.78 aperture, 2.44 micrometer pixels, and if you look at a site like XDA Developers you can see it's a very large 1/1.28" sensor. The 15 on the other hand, got an entirely new sensor and lens, with f/1.6 aperture, 2 micrometer pixels, and like you can with the Pros, you can find logs that mention the sensor size - about 1/1.5". It's not small by any means, but a lot smaller than on the Pros!

iPhone 15 Max is better this year with the camera, new rounded design and smaller foot print but that action button is late to the party and in such a awkward position(for right handers). But this makes me so excited for the s24 ultra.

I was able to charge at 2k watt on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Now it’s freaking 25watt. It should be at least 30 watts and should support fast charging!

After having the 14 pro for awhile, I think I’m just gonna jump to the 14 pro max… The 15/pro just doesn’t seem like that significant of a jump. Hopefully the 15 ultra or 16 will have more changes.

id just wait for next years model instead if i was you. the reason to get the 15 pro. is the usb c and the action button, the better ram, but i dont think it would be worth changing the same model, for a bigger version of that model.

Honestly the iPhone 15 Pro is a disappointing update, particularly in the camera department. They need to increase the megapixels to 48MP on all sensors at a minimum, and maybe the main camera should be 64MP or even 108MP. They have the processing power with the A17 Pro, but I feel as though it is under utilised.
I’ll hold onto the 13 Pro Max for now, I see little reason to upgrade until they improve the cameras, make the dynamic island smaller and maybe make a slightly bigger phone (6.9 inch iPhone Ultra?)

Apple are going through relatively hard times. Their wider market is shrinking with bigger divide between rich and poor, people are tired of the endless updates in a stagnant market, Apple is slowly being cut out of markets in China/Russia - Apple has to show more profitability to keep the stock price (Tim Cook's net worth) high.
i dont think a lot of people buy hermes watch bands anyways theyre very expensive so i doubt it will have a big impact on the environment also imagine spending hundrends of euros for a plastic band LMAO because thats what "vegan leather" is its plastic anyways leather is good and very premium it doesnt make sense even for apple to get rid of it their devices are seen as premium luxury products and with premium devices comples the implication that they use premium materials such as leather and not plastic
According to wireless charging manufacturers via another youtube channel, they expect 15w charging to be enabled once qi 2 is actually finalized. It's just a little early right at the moment.

Yup, that was my understanding as well. Rewatched the keynote and they say the 15 pro’s get a newer 48 mp sensor.
No actually, if you really closely look at the specs on that keynote, the sensor and lens both in the 14 Pro and 15 Pro are identical - f/1.78 aperture, 2.44 micrometer pixels, and if you look at a site like XDA Developers you can see it's a very large 1/1.28" sensor. The 15 on the other hand, got an entirely new sensor and lens, with f/1.6 aperture, 2 micrometer pixels, and like you can with the Pros, you can find logs that mention the sensor size - about 1/1.5". It's not small by any means, but a lot smaller than on the Pros!
@@whatevaidntcare Actually, if you pay really close attention to what they say about that sensor, it's "even larger than the one on iPhone 15". But if you look at the specs they show in the very small text on the side, the specs of the 15 Pro camera hardware is identical to that of the 14 Pro

iPhone 15 Max is better this year with the camera, new rounded design and smaller foot print but that action button is late to the party and in such a awkward position(for right handers). But this makes me so excited for the s24 ultra.

The point that Apple made about leather was that their own carbon footprint is so large if they were to produce leather products. Hermez, although very popular company doesn’t nearly have the same amount of carbon footprint with those leather band they’re making for Apple watches.
