Literally every flagship phone in 2023 is super fast. Nobody care about performance. All we need is battery improvement, better camera and regular iPhone with 120 hz, Apple !
My 14 pro max has terrible battery health. I think it is because the phone heats up too much. I do not play games or make UA-cam videos with my phone. The 15 pro max has the same problem (per Geekerwan UA-cam).
Do you live in a warm/humid climate? Any passively cooled phone would struggle to stay cool if it's constantly warm. My S23 only ever gets warm during large file transfers, or software updates, & is cool 99% of the time. But, i'm in the UK & it's cold & wet most of the year, so I don't have to worry too much.
I mean depends what you are coming from. Most are not going from 14 to 15. I'm coming from a xr. My wife from an IPhone 8. It will be a 140% improvement and multicore if almost 250% improvement from the xr. Not even to talking about screen alone.
I mean, even the iPhone 11 is still way more powerful than anything anybody would need in a phone. I care mostly about battery life (and maybe the look of the screen).
I wonder if Apple also redesigned the instruction execution pipeline of each CPU core as improved branch prediction was noted by Apple in the marketing material.
Synthetic benchmarks measure core performance, real world gaming tests give upscaled/interpolated performance data. This may cause some artifacts to occur but makes the graphical processing much cheaper so to say
Games must first implement MetalFX Upscaling. As you can see in other reviews the throttled GPU score (3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test) is around 2500. For example my 13 Pro Max has 2300. No big performance gains under heavy load without implementing the new Metal 3 API's.

In the last generation the camera for photos was not top notch , but video yes. I#m curious if apple has manged to compete with the samsung and Pixel in foto terms and how close we are now to a real system camera.
How is it very hard for Android to compete.... Android soc has already supported ray-tracing since 2020, and even A17 pro chip is not far apart Snapdragon 8gen2 ...... It not upto 10 percent in GPU power than Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chip, it only the CPU there is a gap of about 20 to 25 percent...... Finally all this apple SOC and Android SOCs are like Xbox series X chip and ps5 chip......all this company know what they are doing right now......thank God....as long as apple has enter triple A gaming world..... developer will definitely push same games to competitive android phones too, to drag in more people to buy their games..... Because only apple can't give them the money they are looking for... I am not an apple user, but full android guy......but I am happy that apple has started a very strong move....I am be waiting for....just 2 year from now..... Triple A will be more available for iOS and Android...... because Nvidia started something like this with their tegra X1 chip. The reason it fail with time is that tegra X1 didn't make it mobile phone device.....thank God apple has start with mobile phone......I give this move just 2 or 3 years.....iOS and Android will kill all handheld device from the market..
too much hype but the fact is the phone will run hot throttle like crazy and have you seen the heat picture from chinese reviewers...the phone is an oven christ that poor battery is saying fking save meeeeeeeee
@Geekerwan made a fantastic video about the problem with benchmarks using various tdps and this A17 is not as power efficient as the A16. For example samsung made cpus are not power efficient at all. One example is the snapdragon 8gen2, in terms of efficiency is on par of the 865, they after made the same CPU by tsmc the 8gen2 plus and is massively more power efficient. Samsung manufacturing is the reason, for example, that tensor chips are bad in benchmarks. Looks like Tmsc needed to make some samsung like compromises to this 3nn architecture.
apple don't even have a cooling plate techology inside their phones like android i bet the phone reaches 50 degrees c while it plays re 4 remake at 30 fps.....either way its been shown to throttle like hell by chinese reviewers

We are literally at the point where performance on these phones doesn’t even matter! They are all EXTREMELY FAST. Simple as that, no one sees real world benefit! Does someone’s Tik Tok open a millisecond faster? Does there Instagram filter process .1 millisecond better? Camera, battery life. That’s all that matters at this point in the game!
don't be selfish, people use their phones differently. Simple example is games - I can find you plenty of games currently available that doesn't run great even on 14 pro max + heat due to pushing the hardware limits + screen dimming due to heat. For those scenarios you need faster chip to tackle all of those issues - FPS, heat, battery life while playing, screen dimming. There are other use cases that will appreciate any jump in performance as well. Obviously if you care only for general/social media apps that will run great on 5-6 years old phone or how fast apps open - you will not care for any performance uplift the new SOCs provides.
I think the iPhone 16 Pro line will be *the best* iPhone ever. Apple made this same strategy with iPhone 12 where they focused on the redesign, then released the iPhone 13 with the most internal upgrades. It's just really disappointing when we can have all these upgrades on the 15th both external and internal already but they delay it.
@@christianortega5943 could become like the iPhone 14 that has almost the same internal specs with iPhone 13 but had a dynamic island (and some few bump with internal specs). There were rumors that apple will move to a punch hole display before diving into the underdisplay so we might get that punchole with the 17th. And then another major redesign for iPhone 18. But we could be wrong so... after all these are still assumptions 🤣
I don't feel apple design their phones targeting the owners of the previous year's model. That phone is for owners of iPhone 11 and 12 mostly, maybe 13 if you push it. Those who buy each new model year after year will buy it anyway no matter what apple do. So while you can argue the difference between 15 pro/max and 14 pro/max or the regulars is not that big, also objectively speaking they are better phones. The same can be said for S23 ultra that is really similar to S22 ultra, but also is objectively better phone. It's not 2010 when each new phone was vastly better in all possible ways vs the old one, purchasing the new one leaded to vastly better everything. Now you can hold onto a phone 3 and even more years without feeling behind.

Can'r wait to play gta4 on iphone
How did this channel have so many subs. The info you put out is consistently wrong or from suspect leaks.
With all of that being said: „We talk about leaks.“…
WHAT THE …
Apple crushed expectations !!!😂😂😂😂
If possible I have a question. Is it possible to connect an external monitor to the 15 Pro and use it for video editing? It seems like as a GPU it would be able to do this. I would love the idea of having DaVinci Resolve for IOS running on this little box... thanks!
It is possible, but it will be a mirrored screen as opposed to something like Samsung DeX
Edit: If your display has a usb-hub you should also be able to connect a mouse and keyboard. I’ll have to try this when I receive mine.
And it seems only the 15 pro will support external display
You can bet people will use this to run games on their iPhone and output to their monitor or tv too. The iPhone becomes a console…
@danteburritar2822 it technically has the same graphics power as a high end gaming pc
@@StoicPhilosophyyyy apple lists display port on all the 15 models.
The two iPhones on your hands are just models 😂right?
yeh nobody would give him an iphone to review lets be real here. If I was apple I wouldn't give him one to review so i'm not suprised even though he is the biggest hype beast for them hes too cringe so thats why they haven't given him one.
@@Lee.S321 yes. I do live in a very hot area (Texas).
@@citizentex5720 Even phones with vapour chamber cooling probably wouldn't help, as they're designed to deal with processor heat, not ambient heat.
Is this Apple’s first 3 nm chip? Because if it is, could that explain why it’s not as efficient as we hoped it would be?
Channel has gotten really cringy recently. Holding the fake iPhones just makes it worse lol
I mean depends what you are coming from. Most are not going from 14 to 15.
I'm coming from a xr. My wife from an IPhone 8. It will be a 140% improvement and multicore if almost 250% improvement from the xr.
Not even to talking about screen alone.
Seen Mathew Moniz video & he was getting 5hrs screen on time on his 15 Pro plus overheating
I mean, even the iPhone 11 is still way more powerful than anything anybody would need in a phone. I care mostly about battery life (and maybe the look of the screen).
what is the ram type of pro models? LPDDR5? do you use cpu - x app
How is it a leak if MKBHD has the A17 chip results on his channel though?
I think bro's wifi is weak... Started uploading leaks before September 12 but the poor wifi uploaded now😂
I wonder if Apple also redesigned the instruction execution pipeline of each CPU core as improved branch prediction was noted by Apple in the marketing material.
Óbvio, o iOS 17 já veio com implementações pra tirar proveito dos novos iPhones.
Bro didn’t just say that a 20 watt output was HUGE for the power bank😂
Except Apple doesnt know how to make heatsinks so pretty sure you're not going to actually play anything decent looking without burning yourself.
Can u connect iPhone 15 pro to an external monitor?
yall hyped 3nm so hard. It's a huge flop in the efficiency department. thermals are still trash.
Synthetic benchmarks measure core performance, real world gaming tests give upscaled/interpolated performance data. This may cause some artifacts to occur but makes the graphical processing much cheaper so to say
educate yourself its a16 with new name thats why overheating
Are you going to create a video on the best cases and screen protectors for the iPhone 15 pro max?
Awesome. Looking forward to receiving my 15 Pro this Friday. First up will be some gaming and see how it compares to my current 13 Pro.
Games must first implement MetalFX Upscaling. As you can see in other reviews the throttled GPU score (3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test) is around 2500. For example my 13 Pro Max has 2300. No big performance gains under heavy load without implementing the new Metal 3 API's.
let me know how it does, like cod mobile, etc
@@donovan1333 ironically, I’ve never played COD but I just may do it just to see how it does.
I’ve noticed I’m enjoying more and more games on flights lately and finding the games on my phone to be a little more enjoyable than doing them on my iPad Pro. Mainly it’s the finger strain issue on the tablets that makes it a little less enjoyable on the iPad.
Please tell me about the battery performance differences between the 13pro and 15pro
@@juliusgraf5070 so far the batter life in a daily basis seems to be about 10% to 15% greater on the 15 Pro my older 13 pro.
Part of that is probably due to my old 13 Pro battery health being about 95% of original capacity, and the other part is that I’ve only had the 15 for a free days now.
I am interested to see if I still have the same view a month from now. So far, I’m pretty happy with that I have.
with RT , i miss games like the INFINITY BLADE TRILOGY........ this EPIC GAMES and APPLE battle should end soon
RE Village is based on PS4 version of the game 6:38 makes no sense
idk how apple can run AAA games with the listed RAM speed but I guessing i’m missing something
as the ram is installed so close to the CPU and gpu it reduces latency and thus gives the appearance of faster than actually stated speeds.
Also with Apple Silicon both cpu and gpu access the same RAM, so no need to copy data from one to the other at runtime.
I actually like that apple set expectations low & then exceeding them
That is absolutely the best marketing technique and it's something very few companies (and people in general) seem to realize. Most companies and people over promise and under deliver.
Whera are the gaming test
Throttling sounds bad from other tests.
Are you playing a number game or what?
Still talking about Leaks..... what the hell.
I really like how you pick your sponsors!
Thanks u for this video. It is crazy that every Pro and Pro Max is sold out everywhere but I am not surprised
Considering TSMC yield rates are srtill in the mid to high 50% range it might not be so much of a surprise. The A17Pro's might be binned chips.
The Icemag power bank looks so cool!
The last 5 videos about iPhone could have easily be one. Appreciate what you are doing but in the last months you went for quantity over quality. Less is more.
It’s bad because they need to change something in the software from the iPhone 15
To Vadim, Summary
A17 Pro P core is highest frequency in mobile with high power consumption
IPC growth over A16 is just 1+%
Apple's claims are true in improvement.
E cores are best in class
GPU still loses to SD 8 gen 2
Same power efficiency ratio to A16
Battery life 15 Pros are bad
15 Plus is the best
Thermal envelope before throttling is 4.2w, will dim display after gaming for a while.
The A17 runs circles around the snapdragon its not even a comparison. The A17 is more comparable to a high end gaming pc.
Is that battery pack gas powered? I’m in 😂
It is if you charge the battery pack with a gas powered generator.
Btw no one talks about performance to watt
too expensive being a generic power bank
"leak"
The performance is allready enough in the last generation, if i need performance than i use a computer, what is more important i wait for your blindtesting vs. 14 Pro, Samsung Ultra, Pixel 7 Pro and probably a reasonable system camera. In the last generation the camera for photos was not top notch , but video yes. I#m curious if apple has manged to compete with the samsung and Pixel in foto terms and how close we are now to a real system camera.
Did he answer the question in the title? no
8:00 I didn't enjoy this video (8:13) because I just bought a new android phone and wish I had waited for the iPhone
PAL leaks for current iPhone 15 pro wait what
How is it very hard for Android to compete....
A17 Pro - biggest disappointment.
Guyz when is your video coming?
too much hype but the fact is the phone will run hot throttle like crazy and have you seen the heat picture from chinese reviewers...the phone is an oven christ that poor battery is saying fking save meeeeeeeee
Apple always overestimated the performance.
Bad news, the days of massive performance leaps are over. There’s only so much you can do with passive cooling.
apple don't even have a cooling plate techology inside their phones like android i bet the phone reaches 50 degrees c while it plays re 4 remake at 30 fps.....either way its been shown to throttle like hell by chinese reviewers
@@Anon1370 LOL. Your whole schtick is going to be based on Chinese whispers?? You could just wait a few days and find out for real.
@@SeanTube2099 theres afew sites saying it even american reviewers there is literal pictures of the phone all red with bad heat thermals!!!
@@SeanTube2099 iPhones overheating & lagging under heavy sustained workloads has been the norm for years. Channels like In Depth Tech Reviews conduct torture tests on key flagships & showed the 14 PM being outperformed by even the Pixel 7 Pro, & both whomped by the S23U. A17 Pro performance is due to high power draw, so I can't imagine it'll be a different story this year.
@@Lee.S321 you cray cray son. I’ve watched the majority of iPhone reviews over the past 5 years and there’s not been any issues bigger than any other smartphone. And I’ve had a iPhone 11, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 pro, so I speak from experience.
Nice video
My only problem with Iphones is heating issue🤥🤥 I hope this model don't heat like 14 series
Nah, I ain't buying this year iphone
With the temp, da battery won't last a year ☠️☠️☠️
Please blind camera test 14 Pro Max vs 15 Pro Max.
It's just really disappointing when we can have all these upgrades on the 15th both external and internal already but they delay it.
what about the iphone 17 ?
@@christianortega5943best ever until the 18…😮😂
@@christianortega5943 could become like the iPhone 14 that has almost the same internal specs with iPhone 13 but had a dynamic island (and some few bump with internal specs). There were rumors that apple will move to a punch hole display before diving into the underdisplay so we might get that punchole with the 17th. And then another major redesign for iPhone 18. But we could be wrong so... after all these are still assumptions 🤣
I don’t think you should trust leaks
A 17 PRO=M1
Sounds like this guy is trying to hype up something that had almost no improvement with last years models
😂 they're spamming cause they didn't get the iphones
armv9 or not???
nobody can tell!
