Here in the UK we stand in solidarity with you in Finland. Your sweater is utterly gorgeous, you have all the joy of knitting such a cheerful garment, and then all over again every time you wear it! Here on the south coast of England we have had a couple of days where the weather has been warm enough to drink coffee outside - the first time is always very special, isn't it!

The forest jumper reminds me of a “picture” jumper I was very taken with back in the 80s/90s - as I remember it, it featured sheep grazing in a field with a blue sky and fluffy white clouds (sort of similar to the baa-ble hat but on a much grander scale!). It also made me very nostalgic about a skirt I made, again in the 80s!, from a border print fabric which featured a sort of colourful flower meadow on a black background - border prints were very popular at the time, honestly! I’m glad you are finding your happy place again and I’m sure that the jumper you were wearing today contributed to that - very rainbows and unicorns, in my opinion.
I have that 80s sheep sweater.

Jana, you are such a breath of fresh air in the world of knitting podcast. Love to see that you’re smiling more each time we see you. I wanted to share a small personal item: my grandson attends Michigan Technical University in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, he has met many people of Finnish origin there. It seems that the ancestors were immigrants brought over to work in the local mines in the 1880’s. He especially feels so at home with the people he has met there, as well as the unique Finnish foods (Pannukakku is a favorite) that are offered in the area. He also is attending a Russian Orthodox Church (too much to explain). I’m thinking of you often and praying for you and your family. Nancy Allen

The new sweater is beautiful. I used to LOVE bright colours but as I am getting older (in my 60s), I have found that botanical, plain, usually forest type colours speak to me.
As the Buddha said, worrying about the future means you cannot be at peace in the present.

I have now done around thirty tests for Sari and I am casting on a new one for Meiju. My aunt reminded me that I have actually visited your town. You inspire me so much, not just with my knitting, but to be the best human I can be.
My Ukrainian neighbour is welcoming her beloved niece from Kyiv to come and live with her. She will be arriving any day now, 23 years old. We have a store run by volunteers -my neighbour included- down the street where they are accepting donations that they can sort through and give to Ukrainian refugees to help get started here.
Love will conquer evil.

I love your crazy sweater! The jewel tones suit me the best to wear. Your hubs makes me laugh about not buying German beer! I boycott certain products too because of their country! My kids think I'm nuts when I do that😄. It's always the principle of it all with us Finns!!! Anyway, stay strong and one day at a time. Our door would always be open to you as well💖
Finished sweater will be beautiful , love those colors . It' ll look like a piece of art. We should knit things that makes us happy . BTW , no way over the top but even at this point, its so pretty.
Bullies stop when people stand up against them. Years ago , in 60s & 70s , we called it boycotting a company or a product as a way to protest. I've also started boycotting certain countries products. If enough people start, it will get the attention of those countries. 💙💛

We're boycotting several companies here in Finland as well. They value money more than human lives and keep playing with russians. Not gonna support that!
