Summer, I’ve been watching you for ages now and I don’t think I’ve EVER seen your hair look BETTER!! That Bob is the PERFECT LENGTH and Cut for you and your hair type - fine haired Girl like Me!! OBSESSED!! ❤️💕
I agree! I will say though, you can create more looks with the flat iron. I sometimes will do the rocking motion thing in the back, all over. It creates a really fun beach look.
Hi Summer I'm a stylist. I cut my own hair using your slightly graduated bob technique. I've done it many times on customers but for fun did it your way. Turned out great. Lots of shape and movement!
Summer! Not only are you naturally a great artist, but you are an awesome instructor! It must be so rewarding to be able to help so many people with your gifts.❤ Many thanks! 😃
I havent watched you for awhile, but this is my favorite color/style Ive seen you wear..This shorter length looks really good on your face shape and the color is perfect.
TYSM for demonstrating on yourself! Great to see your hand movements. That is so much more helpful than watching it being done on a client. I love how you show how to get the ends straight. The whole video was so helpful ❤
HOT DAMN SUMMER!!! LOVE THAT TWISTING WITH THE BARREL IRON!!! I’ve NEVER seen that before and I am a little longer in the tooth than you are LOL so jussssstttt when you THINK you have seen it ALL……THERE IS SUMMER!!!! 🎤 DROP!❤❤❤
If you ever been to a Drybar salon, they do the same technique. But they name this technique after drinks/beverages. Pretty cool right? I used to work at one. This is called Mai tai there.
@@StylesBySummer Well hey, ur kinda a big deal ya know♥️….😉👍🏼HAVE to make sure that we tell the people we appreciate, exactly that. While I can only speak for myself and my BFF’s who ALL recc’d you to me, WE appreciate YOU. You are detailed about what you show us as well as concise and clear about the “why” and the “why not” to do those specific ‘things’ and that makes a big difference in choosing whom I am going to follow and watch every time a notification pops up. To watch ANY ‘tutorial’ in order to learn how to do something that I do not know HOW to do, it makes a HUGE difference when whomever I am watching, actually EXPLAINS why you should or should not do something. A HUGE difference TBH. It is how I used to teach my Nursing students. To JUST say “Do it this way because I said so…” sounds very archaic as well as assuming what I SAY is ALWAYS RIGHT and as you know all too well, every single client (for you) and Patient (for me) is an entirely different experience and we love that you EXPLAIN why this technique may work best for _____ because of _____. Etc etc. All in a days work doll! You have found something you do incredibly well to the point of excellent and you LOVE what you do, which my Daddy always told me meant that you will technically never work a day in your life. THAT is one of the secrets to success. Kudos to you Summer. It has been really great to watch you grow and grow and your followers are becoming more savvy in their questions and comments as well as the stories they share. That kind of growth is a really neat thing to watch from the side lines. You deserve it, you have worked hard to get here. ♥️ Don’t quit as we count on you! (No pressure LOL!🫀).
@@kearabevels thanks doll, I am in 🇨🇦and I do not know if we have Drybar here but I will look it up. I do love their concept but I did not know they named their techniques after Drinks. Clever marketing even if I do not drink anymore LOL! I do know we have a few Blow out places here but when I was ‘ill’ a few years ago, I lost all of my Ginger hair…..almost waist length……(I still get sad when I see that beautiful Irish girl on YT with the Red Hair almost to the floor and she does incredible plaits of all kinds…….gorgeous!!) I thought it would NEVER come back at all and I was NEVER going to wear a wig. Pretty much out of defiance I am certain LOL, and then all of a sudden….peach fuzz! WOO HOO! White down peach fuzz like on a baby chick (but white LOL) so as it started to grow and GROW it DID, I (actually all I did was open my ipad to Summer LOL) taught my husband how to do a blow out LOL…..(THANK YOU SUMMER!!!! I believe he has a little crush on you as well LOL!) and believe it or not, he is the one that, to this day……does my blow outs! A great big Ret. K9 Cop……if his friends only knew LOL!!! He has even mastered my Flat iron but I don’t THINK I would trust him to do all of THESE twists and turns with the barrel iron……trust issues LOL!! I want to KEEP my Platinum Blonde Hair!!!! I will absolutely look into Drybar though as I bet he would LOVE a break from being my personal stylist!! (He has warned me that he ONLY KNOWS how to do a #3 so he will NOT be getting near my head with ANYTHING sharp!!!). Thanks for the tip doll!!! I really appreciate that as we don’t KNOW what we don’t KNOW!!! 💜♥️
Oh my goodness, I almost missed this video as I always check your "Summer Beauty" channel rather than your "Styles by Summer" chanel as I am not a hair stylist (lol) . . . so glad I saw it.
Love your curls and color, Summer. I would personally use the flat iron bc I usually burn myself with a curling iron. I’m definitely not great with styling tools lol. Beautiful job and demonstration! 🥰
Hello! My first time watching your reel. Thank you so much for showing the two different tools. I just got about 4 inches of my hair cut off and into an Italian Bob. My stylist, who I adore tells me I have very fine and very thick hair. I also have, I guess you would call it a blessing, wavy hair as a result of having chemotherapy 34 years ago (by the way, I would not recommend that you go through chemo in order to get wavy hair!). I am coming up on 71 years old and I have very few gray hairs, I guess that's another blessing. But my hair is partial highlighted in blonfe babylights. I love to try different products and I'm going to be buying the Dry Lift. Thank you for that recommendation. I have subscribed now so I'll be following you whenever you post.
I have never used heat protectant. Interesting. I have the same kind of hair you do. Fine and super straight. Don’t have the patience to do all that. Lol
Lol. I used to never use one and my hair really suffered. I also use more heat on my hair than the average person I'd say, but it is something you should incorporate as much as you can!
I had them on the 3rd setting. I'm not sure what actual heat temp is though. They each have 5 choices and max temp I believe is 400, so the setting I use it on...I'd guess it's about 360/370?
Great tutorial. You are very sweet❤. My hair is shoulder length and naturally frizzy/wavy and it never looks nice as I just can’t seem to style it how the tutorials show
Which do u use most often a curling iron or the rounded flat iron? I’m very new to curling my hair even though I’m 55😅. I wouldn’t be able to do my hair without any of your videos! Flat straight hair is such a pain.
I probably do grab the curling iron more but if I want a different look or to edge it up I will use flat iron. That specific flat iron I can create multiple type of waves with it too so it's versatile!
You make it look so easy… Ive just had my hair cut into a bob and tried but failed 😢 going to buy the texture spray and try again next wash as I don’t like it styled straight
Love your hair! What is the temperature of your curling irons? I feel if I left my hair in the curling iron that long it would just burn. My hair is very thin. Thanks in advance.
your stack bob haircut was most popular video ! you seem to like it to and I hope reconsider it. thank you so much making all great Informative hair videos @@StylesBySummer
Why you decided keeping your hair shorter? Did you plan to grow longer ? Which heat setting you using? Your hair type need pomade or wax to style after you curl?
I had been growing it out for over a yr and just wanted something new again! Also want to lighten it so having it shorter makes that easier as far as balancing damage!
On this iron that has 5 settings to choose from I mostly use the 2nd setting, highest I'll go is to the 3rd. If it's a digital, I don't like to go higher these days than a 330/340 F.

That might be the best demo of how to do that twisting motion with the curling iron that I've seen! And a very beautiful result on both sides!
Thank you so much!
I think the final results are so similar it will come down to who feels more comfortable with which tool. Great tutorial.
I agree! I will say though, you can create more looks with the flat iron. I sometimes will do the rocking motion thing in the back, all over. It creates a really fun beach look.

Love this look, Summer. What temperature do you recommend for the iron?
Summer, I just LOVE this tutorial! I am going to try the rocking method at the crown for extra volume 😁. Your hair color is gorgeous 👌.
Thank you! Once I cut it shorter I was like omg I neeeed highlights! The rocking at crown I love!
What a lovely highlight , and thank you for the training
Your hair looks so pretty Summer! Thanks for the amazing tips.

You're welcome!
Great tutorial. You are very sweet❤. My hair is shoulder length and naturally frizzy/wavy and it never looks nice as I just can’t seem to style it how the tutorials show
Would love to see you style a side part.😊
I typically wear a side part but did the middle to evenly show the difference in looks between the two tools!

Super cute!

What is the hair dryer you are using plz?
would this technique work for straight thick hair that doesnt like to hold curls?
You can try!

do you think your going get stack bob hair cut agin? It look so good on you!
I don't currently don't have plans for a more stacked look. Is a fav of mine but like the roundness I have with this cut!

Why do you leave the ends straight? I see this (trend?) occasionally and I don't understand it.
It's to create a more beachy look to your hair.
Which haircut you have mam
Tried heat protection spray and it made iron stutter
My hair is super straight and fine too. It will not hold a curl unless I use a lot of product on it.
Hi how about something for us men.

Thanks!

with all the products you use my hair would look like a matted mess on the next day I woke up.
This looks like it's very complicated to do for beginners like me 😢

I hate these curls. So messy looking. Curls are supposed to bounce.
please take off the dangling ear rings for this tutorial. It is distracting and not needed
