I watched this twice when I was young. Now, nearly a decade later, I've come back to watch it. And like other comments state, quality is not just in the sharpness of the camera lens, but with in the spirit of the writers, directors, and cast that give it life. This has life, because all involved love Tolkien, Lord of the Rings, and their message. Thank you a thousand times, for a job well done.
This is the proof that original content of Tolkien's Work can be created but always taking into account The heart and the true message of the Author... Great Job. For me this is a Prequel from the Original trilogy and it's magnificent.
What happens when a timelessly beautiful story is told by someone who loves it, well done, it is truly a beautifully made independent movie, you should all be proud of it.
Dear amazon, a big budget doesn't equal quality. Good writing, and giving fans what they deserve is quality. Rings of power has nothing on this beautiful well made movie.
Hard to believe that this was made on a budget. The acting, scenery, costumes and well choreographed fights to a beautiful musical score are a testament to the amazing talent put into this film and show that limited budget is nothing compared to unlimited imagination and the love of a story. This is a MUST watch. Thanks to all who were involved.
I know this was uploaded 11 years ago and I have seen it twice before. It's every bit as good & worth watching the third time as it was the first two !!!.
From beginning to end, Kate Madison, brought the feel and atmosphere of Middle-Earth and those who live within. I have watched this many times and it still is a cinematic masterpiece that resonates with the Lord of the Rings films.
This is a great movie. It also shows what can be done by those that respect Tolkien's work and that you can create original works within the framework that he has given us.
Samuel Leask hey man I’ve made my own original fantasy film thats 20 mins long on my channel. Took me 2 years to develop the world and make it’s my first real fantasy film. I’d love to know what you think of it, any feedback and opinions are welcome. Thank you very much it’s called The Kings World:Battle of the Soul
This was a beautifully written story I honestly can't believe I have never even heard of it until now. High praise for the writers, actors and director for making this amazing fan project
This film is wonderful. Its lovely to see a more human side of middle earth. Everyone involved did an amazing job. You can really see the amount of love that was poured into this. Particularly the cinematography, the actors, and the writing.
Thank you for making such a wonderful independent movie like this. Having read Tolkien's works over and over, it really felt like you captured the feel of his stories, weaving in the joy of Arathorn and Gilraen along with the ultimate sorrow that we already knew must happen. Kudos to the writers, producer, actors and all involved in this project. I think Tolkien would be proud and so very pleased with your work.
I was in the mood to watch lord of the rings today and happened across this amazing movie instead. THIS WAS AMAZING. Thank you for taking time to create such a beautifully filed story 💛
I don’t know how many times I’ve seen it. I think I came across this in 2013 or 2014 and it’s like every handful of months, when I’m about to binge watch lord of the rings again, I watch this movie. I love it. It was well thought out and well put together. Everyone is doing an amazing job acting in this movie. I wish it got more recognition than it has. I don’t think many people know about it.
Me. This was shot on a shoestring budget and still manages to even look better than RoP most of the time, even though some shoddiness would absolutely be excusable in a production like this. 10 minutes in we already know the main characters and what motivates them. They are likeable and relatable. And the storytelling? Legitimately very good. This script is much better than anything Amazon was able to come up with in RoP or Wheel of Time. Give them at least a decent budget and the rights to, say, Story of Children of Hurin, and we will definitely enjoy the best Tolkien movie since the original trilogy. RoP on the other hand has so far used five hours on nothing of note happening, and the show's idea of character development and storytelling is apparently 100% about insufferable douchebags being nasty to one another and explaining everything we see on screen anyway.
What the hell this is incredible. I've been a huge lotr fan since the trilogy came out when I was a kid. How have I not come across this for over a decade?? Really excellent work.
This was wonderful! The costumes, sets, props, and cinematography were all believable and grounded the film. And the characters, dialogue, and story brought it to life. It really felt like another chapter of the beloved movies, and while we didn't have as much time to get to know these characters, you still made us care deeply for them. Thanks for creating this and letting us see this story come to life. It is a hard thing that so much sacrifice must be made, but to preserve hope and a future, it is worth it in the end. Very well done indeed.
Here's my spin on the movie. I am not a professional in this field but I am an avid movie fan. It isn't exactly what we would picture an Oscar. But this movie brings me back to English class. When the teacher would read us a book and then we would watch it on screen. But looking at it, for the way the movie was done with the resources given them, they did a very good job. The acting surprised me the most. The acting was well done as well. There needs to be more support for films like these, and I would love to see something like this make it onto the streaming services with their digital effects. This movie/series would launch onto another level. Overall, a great film, and I look forward to seeing more of these movies!
Absolutely couldn't agree more! 😊. What a beautiful story. ❤️. Hope I'm not playing devil's advocate but I enjoyed this more than Peter Jackson money making films!

Loved this movie. Unbelievable they did this all on such a limited budget. Solid acting across the board too, but Katie Morgan absolutely crushed it. "I found my heart today." Keep up the good work!
Yes, there were a number of memorable lines. And the writers honored the poetic language and cadence of Tolkien without it sounding like a bad imitation of a Shakespearean-like play. It had the true heart and soul of an original Tolkien work. So well done. Can't believe it was a fan film. Really remarkable!

Agreed. Tried to watch the Amazon production one more time. I’ve not gotten through it yet. I don’t feel anything for the actors and the plot is a convoluted mess without the incredible spirit of Tolkien! I can’t believe how an experienced director could have produced that piece of trash. Horrible, absolutely horrible writing and the constant switching between stories can give you whiplash. Not going to try a third time. I can’t stand that they turned Galadriel into a hate-filled feminist without any charm or mystery. One of the worst productions ever. Worthy of a Razzie Award.
I wish there were a way to do more than just click "like" for this film. It is an excellent interpretation; both heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time, just the way Tolkien wrote it. I wish this director could take on more stories from the Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales of Numenor. She did a marvelous job with a low budget. Imagine what she could do with a heavy bankroll behind her.
Tremenda sorpresa maravilla de pelicula !! Mil veces mejor que la serie de Amazon Prime, muchas felicitaciones a la Directora y todo su equipo!!!! se nota que esta hecha con amor a Tolkien!!! Muchas gracias!
Yeah the camera is out of focus quite often, the editing and fight choreography is not always on spot. But this movie has more heart, wit, better casting, acting, script and dialogue writing than the Rings of Power ever will have. It's one of the best fan adaptions of Tolkiens lore topped only by the original trilogy.
You cant expect much more from them. Especially if you look at budgets and what you get for it. Also, it explains why Breelanders were so on guard for Dunedain Rangers. Because they lived secretive lives.
Far better than I imagined it would be from the intro. I almost did not bother to watch this. Congratulations to all who played a part in this production. Well done. Regards, Keith.
I too almost did not watch it. I agree totally with your thoughts on this and will add that I hope to see another after this..one where the child is grown and takes his rightful place as king among his people.
Judy Loch Funny isn't it that so many people like adventure fiction like this. I think it has something to do with hopes & dreams & wishes. For the average person in this day & age, going on a real adventure is not easy, but through movies like these we can at least imagine. I need to get out in the forest more often :) Keith.
U and I have the same need. Winter is just about over and I cant wait to go out and enjoy the adventure.. we all have a mind and it can take us anywhere. :)
Bravo!! This demonstrates that the talent of J.R.R.Tolkien fans can accomplish greatness even on a small budget and yet, has no shortage of creativity and passion!!
So much brilliant care and attention that, sadly, was simply not taken in the bigger commercial venture. The fluent Sindarin (among many other things) is amazing and so well done. Bravo! 🙌🙏
This was amazing! It did not seem like a fan made movie at all! The story, music, fight scenes and dialogue were all cinema worthy! This should very well be a canon movie. I hope you continue to make more like this because this is just amazing.
I did not expect this to make me tear up but it did. Especially at 37:18. Halbarad is one of my favorite background characters in LOTR and to get a glimpse of what Halbarad and Aragorn standing with the Banner of the King would be like was amazing. Thank you for making this wonderful film.
I know this is late, but I AM HAPPY that no PALANTÍR was in this. I admit I have too much time on my hands, but when I see it in my head, wow, awkward: "Wait...wait, this cannot be right-That is our SISTER!! Who is that guy she is with? Why is she allowing him to see her in such a manner by the waterfalls?! Arwen, STOP THAT!! You are a Lady of the House of Elrond!! Put those bosoms back in your....GREAT ELENDIL'S FLOPPY BALLS!!" ...That is not the raiment of an elven man; he is unworthy of you....the cloak of a ranger? He looks like one of your people, Arathorn...same height as you, Arathorn and.... _Takes look at Arathorn, takes look at man in the palantír, does a double take at little tiny Aragorn with his toy sword_ "Oh, my, GOOOOODDDD!! ELROHIR!! ELROHIR!! PLEASE TELL ME I AM SEEING THINGS!!" _For the record, Elrohir has already fainted to the ground in total and utter shock: he was looking over Elladan's shoulder the whole time. The little boy is poking him on the ground, thinking Uncle Ellie is pretending to have been felled by his teeny wood sword again. There are certain things a brother should never see his sister enjoy. The contrast between this, and watching the hungry look on adult Aragorn's face in the palantir was just TOO MUCH. The little creep is going to grow up to be a pervert who shall try to shag their sister!! Little Arwen is going to do that beastly thing the race of Men cannot get enough of and, and and, IT DOES NOT INVOLVE ETHEREAL SONGS THAT LAST DAYS ON END AND WRITING POETRY !! THUNK!!-out cold_
I remember finding this movie yearsssss back and I loved it soo much I always come back and watch it. I really wish more people would make things like this, expanding on the history of middle earth that’s untold by the movies or even the books!!
I'm a big fan of Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, and found this movie today by chance. Just an incredible production. I enjoyed every scene. Congratulations! 👏👏👏
It saddens me that I have to wait until another day to watch this. I only just found it, and I have to work in the morning. This looks absolutely beautiful, I will be waiting impatiently for a chance to watch it in full
I WANT MORE ! SAME ACTORS... SAME WRITERS... SAME DIRECTORS ....ECT ...good story ..great acting ...beautiful country ! 1000 times better than what these big ass company's put out ! Thank You !!!
Well THAT was outstanding! Christopher Dane could be a stunt double for Viggo Mortensen - I mean he was perfect as Aragorn's father. I was truly moved knowing what was to come but thinking about how this father and son would never have the opportunity to share their lives together. Well done Actors at Work!
THAT WAS INCREDIBLE AWE INSPIRING AND A FULL MOVIE. THANK YOU TO THOSE OF THE ACTORS AT WORK. I LOVE THE STORY OF THE BEGINNING OF THE LORD OF THE RINGS. ARAGORN'S FATHER AND MOTHER AND PEOPLE. WOW WHAT AN AWESOME TREAT THANKS.
That was incredible. Wonderful acting, wonderful lines, overall wonderful. I would recommend it in a split second. Indeed, I have already recommended it. Congratulations
I really think this was better than some elements in the LOTR movies. The music was one thing I loved. It was light and easy instead of Mr. Jackson's approach of loud and forceful and in your face. The fact that it was more subtle made it more emotional at times. I really loved this film. 5 out of 5 stars. And oh my god the troll! So perfect to was was presented in Fellowship. I really did love this.
Remember LoTR was a massive epic trilogy and the source material spanned many books; it deserved an epic orchestral sountrack to go with sweeping landscapes and involved war scenes. The story of Arathorn is but a chapter in Middle Earth and better served with an intimate, heartfelt music composition.
Wow. This was really amazing. Three things really stood out to me as awesome. First, the fact that you used Quenya so well, I gasped the first time, and grinned/cried (depending on context) every time after. It really helped to make this an excellent LotR film. Second, the orc effects (armor, cosmetics, etc.) were leagues better than any other fan film I've seen. And in general, all the costuming was bloody awesome. Third, the acting was spectacular. These actors really brought the character to life. Well done. Okay, I lied. There were actually way more than three things that stood out as awesome, and one of them that I can't not mention is ELLADAN AND ELROHIR HECK YEAH!!! They just about got a cheer out of me, I must admit. And all the elven bow-and-arrow epicness going on there was spot-on wicked cool. Huge thumbs up to the actors who played the elven twins. Stunning performance all around.
My thoughts, humble as they are. In comparison to Rings of Power, one has heart, passion, love and a non existent budget. The other, greed, forced political ideas, no respect or love of the lore, and the biggest budget ever seen. I so wish the budgets were in reverse.
At 54 mins it had me crying. Great story of Aragorn's parents. A story of love, heartache, war, uprising and The Ring. Beautifully written. Wonderful acting. An enjoyable film made on a budget. The Orks were scary.

I love this narrative story and give thanks to Kate Madison
Yeah the camera is out of focus quite often, the editing and fight choreography is not always on spot. But this movie has more heart, wit, better casting, acting, script and dialogue writing than the Rings of Power ever will have. It's one of the best fan adaptions of Tolkiens lore topped only by the original trilogy.
You cant expect much more from them. Especially if you look at budgets and what you get for it. Also, it explains why Breelanders were so on guard for Dunedain Rangers. Because they lived secretive lives.
❤
Far better than I imagined it would be from the intro. I almost did not bother to watch this. Congratulations to all who played a part in this production. Well done.
Regards, Keith.
I too almost did not watch it. I agree totally with your thoughts on this and will add that I hope to see another after this..one where the child is grown and takes his rightful place as king among his people.
Judy Loch Funny isn't it that so many people like adventure fiction like this. I think it has something to do with hopes & dreams & wishes. For the average person in this day & age, going on a real adventure is not easy, but through movies like these we can at least imagine. I need to get out in the forest more often :)
Keith.
U and I have the same need. Winter is just about over and I cant wait to go out and enjoy the adventure.. we all have a mind and it can take us anywhere. :)
Judy Loch You got it right there Judy. I am waiting for summer to pass so I can get out in the woods again.
Keith.
Judy Loch there is a movie of him growing well whatever you call it watch lord of the rings 1 2 and 3
That was amazing, especially considering the small budget. Very well done! I'm amazed at what you were able to create.
❤
How does this not have more likes??
Here from Obscure LOTR Facts TikTok! So excited how have I never heard of this before?!
Bravo! 🙌🙏
Is it possible to find Sindarin dialogues from this film somewhere?
I am so grateful for finding this wonderful film, Thank You So Very Much For Sharing !
This was amazing! It did not seem like a fan made movie at all! The story, music, fight scenes and dialogue were all cinema worthy! This should very well be a canon movie. I hope you continue to make more like this because this is just amazing.
Thats what love for the lore does. 25k pounds against 1 billion dollars for the rings of power season 1. I choose this.
Exceptionally beautiful, the music, the scenery, the beauty of the actors.
The spirit led me here, pure chans wouldn't have seen the film otherwise. Really great and not to mention how lovely Kate M is .
Thank you so much. A jolly good telling of a wonderful tale. Tolkein would be proud.
I hope future works are made by the fans and not by hollywood
I did not expect this to make me tear up but it did. Especially at 37:18. Halbarad is one of my favorite background characters in LOTR and to get a glimpse of what Halbarad and Aragorn standing with the Banner of the King would be like was amazing. Thank you for making this wonderful film.
In these troubled, modern times, it's refreshing to come across such stories of honour, valour and love - values that are fast vanishing.
How dramatic, if only that were true. Humans are just as bad and good as we have always been.
Thank you so much for your hard work and ability to put heart and inspiration into film. Willum
Who alive in 2024 ❤🙏
I am alive. Thanks be to God 🙏
The channel Men of the West brought me here. What a great movie, I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for making it!
This is such an amazing video! I'm so happy that they put in Arwen's Brothers in this! :D

I know this is late, but I AM HAPPY that no PALANTÍR was in this. I admit I have too much time on my hands, but when I see it in my head, wow, awkward:
"Wait...wait, this cannot be right-That is our SISTER!! Who is that guy she is with? Why is she allowing him to see her in such a manner by the waterfalls?! Arwen, STOP THAT!! You are a Lady of the House of Elrond!! Put those bosoms back in your....GREAT ELENDIL'S FLOPPY BALLS!!"
...That is not the raiment of an elven man; he is unworthy of you....the cloak of a ranger? He looks like one of your people, Arathorn...same height as you, Arathorn and....
_Takes look at Arathorn, takes look at man in the palantír, does a double take at little tiny Aragorn with his toy sword_
"Oh, my, GOOOOODDDD!! ELROHIR!! ELROHIR!! PLEASE TELL ME I AM SEEING THINGS!!"
_For the record, Elrohir has already fainted to the ground in total and utter shock: he was looking over Elladan's shoulder the whole time.
Wow!! 1st time watching this! Well done!!!!
I remember finding this movie yearsssss back and I loved it soo much I always come back and watch it. I really wish more people would make things like this, expanding on the history of middle earth that’s untold by the movies or even the books!!
Nance movie watching from Ghana

I'm a big fan of Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, and found this movie today by chance. Just an incredible production. I enjoyed every scene. Congratulations! 👏👏👏

Hello dear how are you?
Which country are you from Can I have your WhatsApp number
Hello Morgan
❤❤ beautiful story..... wish you all the best Kate..!
A beautifully filmed and well made fan film and prequel to The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
It saddens me that I have to wait until another day to watch this. I only just found it, and I have to work in the morning.
This looks absolutely beautiful, I will be waiting impatiently for a chance to watch it in full
I hope you enjoy it :-)
It will be worth your wait! Start popping your popcorn first though cuz you will not want to pry yourself away from the movie!
@@KateMadison thank you for this wonderful work...I was very pleasantly surprised and now look forward to the next part.
@@KateMadisonIs it possible to find Sindarin dialogues from this film somewhere?
Wow, the similarities between Arathorn's death and Boromir's are painfully beautiful
Mi
That was incredible. Wonderful acting, wonderful lines, overall wonderful. I would recommend it in a split second. Indeed, I have already recommended it. Congratulations
Hello how are you doing
Is this the original Sherlock Holmes 🤔?
I don't think so
Wooow haven't seen such an exquisite movie in a long time.. awesome awesome play
despite the low budget it's a beautiful film and it works quite well in the Lord of the Rings original story
Hello
I really think this was better than some elements in the LOTR movies. The music was one thing I loved. It was light and easy instead of Mr. Jackson's approach of loud and forceful and in your face. The fact that it was more subtle made it more emotional at times. I really loved this film. 5 out of 5 stars. And oh my god the troll! So perfect to was was presented in Fellowship. I really did love this.
+JokingGamer It is a remake of LOTR music. In a form that is not exactly the same.
Bringm3hop3 lotr is best
Remember LoTR was a massive epic trilogy and the source material spanned many books; it deserved an epic orchestral sountrack to go with sweeping landscapes and involved war scenes. The story of Arathorn is but a chapter in Middle Earth and better served with an intimate, heartfelt music composition.
Beautiful movie...2019..who's here
Grace Alisha i am here honey

Grace Alisha my salut
Yeah
Awesome movie, well made, great acting. I absolutely love it! Can't believe I've never run across this great prequel to LoTR, thank you.
I stumbled across this on a snowy day. Thank you for creating such a fine film.
Bravo and well done! This is so much better than what I have seen from Amazon because it's obviously made by people who love and respect Tolkien.
go read a book ya geek, rings of power is awesome, this fan remake was horrible in every way
@@nightmarenovels Come back when you've taken and passed remedial English.
I'm so excited for this! A guy posted it on Instagram as a recommended for tolkien fans. So here I am 😊
My thoughts, humble as they are. In comparison to Rings of Power, one has heart, passion, love and a non existent budget. The other, greed, forced political ideas, no respect or love of the lore, and the biggest budget ever seen. I so wish the budgets were in reverse.
A masterpiece! Kate Madison thank you for your gift...October 2020
At 54 mins it had me crying. Great story of Aragorn's parents. A story of love, heartache, war, uprising and The Ring. Beautifully written. Wonderful acting. An enjoyable film made on a budget. The Orks were scary.
Cuhh Really
❤
Thank you kate that's very kind .
