At long last, the Prowling Magus skip. Now the rest of this masterpiece isn't gated behind a challenge for sweatiest of nerds, and all of us regular people can finish it! Jokes aside, thanks for the video, it's really fun.
This was only uploaded ten minutes ago, yet UA-cam recommended injects this into my feed the moment I start looking for a video to watch while I wind down. Kind of scary that it knows exactly what I want...
This is a great showcase of DS2 glitches, only note I have is that you didn't need to grind out those souls for that first parrywalk, you could've done it later because you can get the fragrant branch of yore with a well placed jump and enough vigor, then you can farm a later place for more souls.
Seems like the UA-cam algorithm blessed me with a real gem, great video and explanations! DS2 is still the most interesting souls game by far for me, so many odd item/weapon/armor effects and interactions that allow for silly glitches... Looking forward to more videos!
You actually don't "build up speed" while parrywalking. Instead, your visual position and your logical position are two different things, and parrywalking only disables collision for your logical position. But under certain circumstances, your visual position snaps to your logical position, which looks like you're going really fast.
The Faceplant, The Death Jittters of the first Knight, the walking on air. I still don't know what's going on but I enjoy watching glitches and funny/fun stuff. well done!
iirc the most efficient way to gain souls without killing bosses in DS2 is to farm the giants at Black Gulch. There's a trick that lets them respawn over and over, but I don't remember how it's done. Ymfah does it in his "Tips for starting out in Dark Souls 2" video (which is hilarious btw), so there's that. Cool video regardless m8
The way I always farm early game is in Heides tower but in the big circular room with a good shield you can stand on that lip next to the door and bait all of them to fall into the water.
Also with the old knights the easiest (if you dont want their armor) Is to stand outside the main cathedral in the corner with a shield before the broken up bridge and in the doorway. You dont need 100% phy shield to survive. Or for fun jump the gap between broken up bridge (1st lever) and the stairs railing and get them to attack off the ledge. You can also curve them during their combo by crossing over their middle line on their back They will swing in an s shape if you do this and walk away from you, off a ledge.
4:19 there's actually a different riposte animation you can trigger; if you press attack right after a parry (you may need to take half a step forward first), while the enemy is standing and flailing their arms and before they sit down, you'll do a 'standing riposte', similar to ds1 ripostes. And I think they're a little faster than ds2's sitting ripostes. The enemy can also be in the middle of falling and you'll pull them up for the standing riposte. But once they sit down, you can only do the sitting riposte
If anyone wants to do this, but would like better estus, theres a fragrant branch in the tutorial area. You can get a shard from the tutorial area using the fragrent branch on the statue.
Good video, it was interesting to watch. There is an easier and more reliable way of farming in Heyde's tower, but you can get a branch via turtle or parrywalk in FOFG and go immediately to shadow woods , before najka can take 5 pieces of 5000 souls that you need in the beginning. I think 99.9% of players won't repeat your route it's too hard and long. It's easier to kill najka and skip magus, there you will find titanites and ascetic. We end up with 1 killed boss and a sword in 30 minutes .
@@splee5556 No, the pursuer glitch works by having Last Giant alive. Then going into giants arean and going out again. Now you rest at the bonfire and go up the platform where pursuer lands from flying in with the bird. You can now kill him and get the his souls and the boss soul. You now get off the platform and quit out. You can now repeat this step and kill him again. Found by me and a couple of friends 😄
yes we, all the 1,417,756 DSII players already know the different parts of this vid but we really appreciate it because most of us never realized we can use those glitches to get this beast of a sword to kill with it The Last Giant in NG
Itd be a lot faster to get the dragon rider to fall of the edge of his boss room for those souls by standing still upon entry then when his foot hits the 2nd to largest ring roll right across the gap and let him lunge into the water Then possibly burn ascetic and do again (Nvrmnd i see you dont wanna kill bosses so this is for anyone else for a tip)
@@mynamesjunnie9729 You need to parry an enemy, then position yourself in a specific way relative to the enemy. For most enemies, you want to move directly diagonally away from them until you're near their foot. Once you're there, press jump and riposte at the same time. If you jump straight over the enemy, you've done it correctly. It's easier to do with either keyboard, or with the controls on your controller rebound. I have an Action Set in Steam Input that rebinds my D-Pad to WASD and L1/LB to jump.
Can't you just backstep clip the wall ledge and then run jump with L3, (instead of the parry walk) to get to place unbeknownst bonfire? 🙂 Then you don't need to get the butterfly skirt
@@splee5556 yep the boss will get a 66% damage res if you summon all 3. But Bashful Ray is an insane npc summon. He is especially good against Freja because of her fire weakness. My first time playing the game I fought Freja as my 6th boss and the npcs just took care of her themselves even at bonfire intensity 2
In reality, 10 adp is enough for similar I frames to a medium roll in the previous souls games so instead of an egregious 31 adp you can put the other 21 levels into vigor, stamina and/or vitality (or y’know, intelligence for the moonlight greatsword)
10 ADP only gives 88 AGL or 9 i-frames (assuming low attunement). DS1 medium roll is 11. Plus, a lot of players are going to want the equivalent of DS1 fast roll or DS3 medium roll, which is 13 i-frames. And you can get that with 31 ADP (105 AGL). So no, I wouldn't call his investment egregious. Having a generous amount of i-frames can be a very helpful stat investment.
