Ah I’m so glad to see a video on degree apprenticeships on UA-cam, finally!! I managed to land a degree apprenticeship at ta large environmental firm this July, after a longgg struggle. I agree with it being difficult, and u have to want one if your going to go through the process. As someone who also got places at university, the process doesn’t compare! For those of you wanting to go for one, I recommend everyone time you get rejected to an apprenticeship, apply for another! Keep going, you’ll be surprised how late you could land one.
@@kadiebrewster8847 I can’t say which one, but it’s a degree in environmental science. I recently started and it seems good so far! But if you’re interested in going into something environmental related, definitely consider degree apprenticeships as I found quite a few decent ones for companies like WSP and Arup.
This was really informative. Thank you so much for explaining the process. The application explanation is definitely accurate. I uate those online tests and it really is so bloody competitive. I think when you were talking about some people over glamourising it I thought of isobel Lorna. Who I LOVE and inspired me to do a degree apprenticeship after my business apprenticeship but her videos look so cool that I can't compare that to what my reality may be
This video inspired me! I am currently doing digital marketing apprenticeship level-3. I might ask my employer if they would be interested in degree one after I finish my current one 😊
I'm doing a degree Apprenticeship with my local county council in public health. I love the fact you get the experience within the sector and gain a degree at the same time.
Loved this video, could you do a video about tips for starting your apprenticeship, I start my business degree apprenticeship in September and I’m really nervous xxx
Very Informative video on application process. Could you tell about how accommodation works and what the social aspect is like? I'd assume you don't have first year on campus accommodation and probably not the same social life as a uni student correct? Thanks
If an apprentice and a normal student take the same course, would they be taught the same or would the apprentice’s education be more concentrated on what the company wants?
Hi Katie, thanks for this video. I am making a career change and deciding on either university or a degree apprenticeship. There are a lot of clubs/societies at university that I feel can be quite a big benefit for networking and self improvement. Is there the opportunity for an apprentice to join in on these? Thanks :)
3:00 Doesn't the company get government funding? Does the degree apprenticeship state that your role must not replace existing apprentices/employees? Do degree apprenticeships start in September as well?
Im thinking of doing it in the NHS for a Child's Nursing course. Does anyone know whether its worth it and does anyone have any recommendations in the choices of universities?
You can’t choose the uni the trust does. I guess you can check the trust websites to what uni they partnered up I think it’s worth but mosty bc you don’t come out with debt and a salary each month
It’s not really the same . The salary you get as an apprentice first year is normally the same salary of a grad role . Apprenticeship degrees are normally 3-4 years

Also how easy is it to get a job with a degree apprenticeship compared to a degree in uni?
Thank you so much youve been so helpful

Do you go to uni from home or away do they still accommodate you if you lived in university

Degree apprenticeships start in September, exactly like uni
@@yf9938 I know somebody who started in May...
@@TaxingIsThieving Damn, really, how come, because you go to uni at the same time
Actually degree apprenticeship can start anytime , just depends on the company. I just started .
what company did you get into? x

Which apprenticeship did you apply to?
Hi kTei
I love your accent haha
is an apprenticeship degree the same as a normal degree at the end of the day? is their salary different and how long does it take?
It’s not really the same . The salary you get as an apprentice first year is normally the same salary of a grad role . Apprenticeship degrees are normally 3-4 years
After qualifying yes the degree apprenticeship would be the equivalent of a full degree.
