    When I'm cutting my own hair, I usually start cutting the sides and back with the longest clipper guard first and work my way down. This way, I don't risk cutting too much off the top with a shorter guard.

    Sir, your videos have always been very informative. I've learned a lot. Thank you.
    Would you please make a video about cutting longer hair? Something like christian bale's haircut in "American Psycho".

      I filmed something quite close today actually. Not quite as long on the sides.
      I love that haircut from American psycho, I think style is moving back in that direction

    Hi Michael! I'm watching from Southern California and I really enjoy your channel. I've been cutting my own hair since the beginning of the pandemic. I'm getting better and better through your videos and with practice but I'm still having problems blending the top of my hair with the sides on my own by using scissors. Could you suggest a technique where I could easily blend the top with the sides and back? I wish I was flexible enough to do a scissor over-comb on myself for blending. Thanks!

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Kev, it's understandable your having trouble blending in, it's not easy, even harder with scissors. But if you check this video out there is a technique you'll see me use where I work down the parietal and occipital ridges with the clipper. It works and you can go as low as a grade #2 using the technique

    13:44 that’s such a great looking haircut. Question: In between his ear and his sideburn, I have a big scar in that area, would you recommend getting that SMP procedure done there to cover up the scar? If not I have to keep the length of the hair around a 5 so the scar doesn’t show.

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  2 роки тому +1

      I really couldn't advise on SMP, but scars can often be masked by keeping the hair a little longer. And styling in a way that covers them. Personally I would have a scissor cut style. With enough flow.

      @@theoneminutebarber yes and you have it tweaked a bit, I have my cosmetology license but I’ve been doing nails for 20 years and I’m starting a new job in an all men’s salon, I’m excited but terrified. Thank you for your channel I’m learning so much in so little time. The fading is what I’m most confused about, like how do you start ? It’s all different it seems , some do a 5 , 4, 3. And oh can you touch base on a low, medium or high fade? If you have time. Oh and what is a high and tight? I haven’t gotten through all of your videos so I apologize you may have covered it . Thank you so much I love your channel, you’re very professional but down to earth. Lots of content and you don’t talk too much 🙏💕🐾

    When would you cut the corners around the ridge and when would you simply leave it square as you did in this video?

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  Рік тому +1

      So even though I leave it square it is blended in at the side into a squarer shape. Many people believe a squarer shape is more masculine. However if my client had a square face shape or the ridges were quite square. I would try and balance it by creating a rounder shape.

    I have been cutting my husband’s hair since first lockdown.
    He likes his hair very short but I find it hard with his straight hair not to have bumps going up to the top area.
    I start with a no2 around the bottom and occipital bone and then 2.5 , then 3 and then scissors. Could you do a really short haircut demonstrating how not to get bumps along the sides. I can send a photo if you would be interested. Thanks 🙏🏻

    I often get a corner between the top and my connection to the sides (it seems to appear after I connect the top to the sides as you show in this video). The corner is in the round of the head between the top and the side (top of parietal ridge). Is it because I am not following the shape of the head enough or am I missing something? I will cut it off to even everything out, but I often wonder if I am doing something wrong.

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  2 роки тому

      You can try and round it off as long as possible. If it doesn't affect the finished style though just leave it.
      This problem is highly likely on straight hair, and there could be a number of solutions. If you want you can send an image to the one minute barber Instagram and I will try and diagnose the problem further
