"after riding it I was only medium scared" Love it! There are a few guys in Michigan that I see riding these things(KX500s) in tight single track, that takes so serious throttle control.
Great job the bike came out great the more people who save these old classics the better !! It's still hard for to hear lots of younger racers/pro's have never ridden a two stroke let alone the range of 500's which were the elite class back in the day ...
So so clean is that a 1992 My frist bike was a 1992 kx80 I remember that awesome seat logo with the pink brush stroke . I really want to find one like ours . One day if you sell yours let me know I’ll pay shipping 💰💨
Got me to laugh when you said "we don't want any throttle problems right" LOL Heck no we would definitely not want a throttle problem! BONSAI !!! LOL Oh, by the way, the big green machine looks mean.
I had my 465cc 2-stroke get the throttle stuck wide open when i was 14 and no amoumt of brakes could stop it (ended up with the front wheel locked up skidding with the back wheel digging a trench till i bailed and let it run outve fuel in the carb laying on its side waiting for the motor to blow 😳😂😂)
Hello jay how can i get my Kevin windham Suzuki RM250 replica on your channel or racer X for ping to ride it’s a 2005 model with 03 cylinder engine was built completely by TMR it’s a 265 with a yz piston running on VP U4.4
Jay you an Clint Lund should get together he does some awesome builds you 2 should do a build off and compare the bikes with pro riders to test them also
Team Green...Always!
Scared.....Waaaaaaaaaa...LOL I raced KXs and a 82 CR 480 for years back in the 80s fun bikes. Good build guy's!
I have been reviving a 93. It was left in a shed for like 20 years. New oil, gas, clean carb, and a plug.and it fired right up.
Good stuff

Looks awesome, my dream bike right there but impossible to find here in Ireland.
Gorgeous build but im not a fan of the front guard/plate combo (just a personal taste thing, still a beautiful build 👍)

Please put the stock front end on it😢
Bought everything for 10 sell for 30. Not bad
Why did you go through all that work and use an old crappy steel chassis?
8 years later
Awesome build Jay👍,any graphics planned for it?
No way those forks were only $300
