I don't get it you put out a video ripping diablo immortal for pay 2 win. Which it is. But then you make this video promoting fleet command that has absurdly agregious pay 2 win elements.
Again “paid promotion” needs to be there man or the SEC will slap you down. You’re a business now, it’s responsible big boy pants time. Edit: it’s now there. Excellent!
He's doing the kind of loving parody that doesn't shit on the original but embraces the silliness. Pretty much like One Punch Man makes fun of every Shonen but doesn't look down on them.
Good choice. I have played this game for too many months in the top alliance on my server (bear in mind, being on top makes some things easier.) It starts off good, but soon becomes insanely grindy and pay2win after a month or two. Better set aside hundreds or thousands of dollars and many months, if not years of your life to get anywhere. You want Enterprise it's gonna cost you dearly. Also, I lost months of progress/in-game currency by misclicking while scrolling (easy to do on mobile) and buying something expensive and worthless that was supposed to go towards Enterprise or some other big ship. In-game purchases do NOT have a confirmation box and Scopely will NOT help you. The funny thing is, I joined to play with a friend of mine, but it turns out he was on a different server, and what server you're on is hidden, and there was no way for us to join each other without making new accounts at the same time and crossing our fingers, but he already had a few months of progress and at that point you're so invested you don't want to give it up... But it only gets worse as you go along. Get out fast if you're playing this.
I played Fleet Command as part of an offer on another mobile game. The initial two weeks are precisely calibrated to give you a bunch of progress very quickly, and then SLAM you with paywalls just as your "anti PvP shield" is expiring. It's a very predatory setup.
I would disagree with the paywalls, until you get pretty far. It's just slow as a free 2 play. It's very ruthless, if you don't shield someone will come and steal your rss. If a game that encourages you to pick on the lowest target you can doesn't appeal, then this isn't for you. I'm not saying the players aren't nice, in majority cases you can just enjoy the game without getting blown up every minute
Always evolving game means by the time you finally end that extremely long shipbuilding, they release a brand new one with twice the amounts of resources and time needed, making your fresh ex-best ship trash. Wonderful as always, totally lost it at the 'epic' ship battle like flies
I played this years ago. It was a god awful P2W experience and the grind was mind numbing. Unless it completely overhauled itself, I would not recommend.
Wow this is SO accurate to the actual game! Including piecing together new officers from hundreds of fragments, and the fact that your ship is absolute trash unless you pay real money!
According to the reviews this game pretty much forces you into paying if you do not want to get destroyed by stronger players and looted from resources (including those you paid for). It also deceives players by appearing to be mostly PvE at the start, only to force you into PvP later once you are invested. So staying away is a good decision for this game any any other "free" game.
I swear, every new promotional cartoons have me even less inclined to check whatever monstrosity that game is! Thanks Carbot for keeping my money safe. :D
Straight up, I played that game for two years and its one of the greediest developers Ive ever seen. Extremely targeted towards spending money, they will hardcore handicap your progress if you dont spend. Its easy to get to level 20, after that the level ranges that can hit you go up by an increasing amount until youre being hit by players 15 levels higher than you with literally millions, or hundreds of millions more power. They can destroy your base, ships, and stop you from playing entirely if they want, there is no system in place that deters picking on lower players. One of the worst games ive ever played. Gameplay is the exact same from level 1 to 60, the only thing that changes is the number next to the ship on your screen.
funny you know, i activly clicked on this AD for an AD, eager to watch it... and i got entertained! if i'd get always a "Carbot like" ad on youtube, i might consider disabling my ad blocker every now and then
This is awesome yet simultaneously nostalgic and depressing at the same time. I used to play the old Starfleet Command. The mobile 'Fleet Command' is no where even in the same ballpark as the old the Starfleet Command games based on the Tabletop. This pitch for that shitty game is almost... insulting...
Seeing Carbot's take on Trek has made the day for me. Jolan tru dear friends. Also I recognized the musical sting from Star Fleet Command (THE GOOD OLD PC GAME!)
I was playing a mobile game and was watching one of their ads. I saw the one for some Star Trek game and then saw the cartoons. After a few seconds I told myself “HOLY SHIT I RECOGNIZE THAT CARTOON STYLE ANYWHERE ITS FUCKING CARBOT WHAT A LEGEND”
Learning that Pluto wasn't a planet anymore makes me reflect just how long I've been out of school haha. And of all places to have learned that it was here 🤣😅...it's hard to say that it isn't with its blue skies red snow and mountains...butttt that goes into a much deeper topic byyeeee
Not sure why but I just burst into laughter at the thought of a giant red button that says BATTLE on it, and a Captain just smashing that button to engage battle. It's simply but effective, love it.
So well made, i could imagine more Star Trek related animation from you guys. I smiled and laughed so much how accurate this was. Great work and great video. Well done.
"Let's put one of those beefy (legs) on for good measure. That looks really good, coming out of the back of his (hull) there. Now he needs a name. How about...Enterprise, the Phazernator?"
This is similar to many Mobile game in the world currently in 2022. Level up your Heroes and collect their pieces to unlock new character, upgrade your ships or your ride and your facilities then just to get bullied from raid attacks by another player. Collect resources, use materials for research yada yada blah blah... And Pay to Win concept or top up money but not 100% win.
I'm rather thankful that I've seen enough from media and UA-camrs that when I go, "Hey, this looks fun," my brain will come back with, "Whoa, hold up there, chief. Lemme explain some things to you . . ." Great vid as always, though, Carbot!

@@NegZer0 Man's gotta eat. Anyway, he mocks a lot of p2w elements in this video as well, so it's alright
I kinda wana see you make a video about the starship trooper rts game
i love how carbot keeps making fun of the games he advertises and obviously still gets new offers 😂
I mean he also does a good job of making them look fun a lot of the time.
And this add got over 75.000 views ... so it isn't all bad
He's doing the kind of loving parody that doesn't shit on the original but embraces the silliness. Pretty much like One Punch Man makes fun of every Shonen but doesn't look down on them.
I love Star Trek, but I'm not playing a mobile game. I'll gladly watch your videos to the end though, and giggle along the whole time! xD
As a mobile game player, good idea, this one is probably p2w
He probably should have mentioned in it, but it's has a PC version
99% sure I saw it included in the new PlayStation pass thing
Yeah this game is insanely p2w, ask me how I know xD

I'll never ever download this but it made me laugh. The ending with the Enterprise flying by with the leg still attached... LOL!
It had to be a mobile game ad, but it ticked of the two boxes "CarBot" and "Star Trek", and I got entertained by the ad. Incredible as usual!
Enterprise never skips legs day.
I guess you could say that the Enterprise has a...leg up on other ships.
I played Fleet Command as part of an offer on another mobile game. The initial two weeks are precisely calibrated to give you a bunch of progress very quickly, and then SLAM you with paywalls just as your "anti PvP shield" is expiring. It's a very predatory setup.
Who would had thought?

The first part of that sounds a lot like the late 19th century and early 20th, to be honest.
The ship battles are INSANELY accurate to that. I tried the game once and it's all I could think of
"Space... it's pretty big..." For whatever reason this absolutely killed me.
"Space... it's pretty big" gosh that was way to funny for me
This is Ryan Reynolds level of advertising , loved it.
I played this years ago. It was a god awful P2W experience and the grind was mind numbing. Unless it completely overhauled itself, I would not recommend.
It was not overhauled. The gap between whales and f2p got bigger and the grind feels like a second job..
I gave it two weeks to complete an offer for another game, and that was my experience too. It's very shiny trash.
Thanks! I looked to the comments for this info.
Par for the course it's a mobile game.
Carbot suckered us in to watching an ad.
Well done, Carbot. Well done indeed.
*headdesk*
Worst part is that it's working. I'm tempted to try the damned thing.

I know nothing about Star Trek so I can only assume this is 100% accurate with no embellishments or over exaggerations what so ever :)
An "over exaggeration" is just an exaggeration. The "over" is superfluous because there is no other kind.
I'll let you off with a warning this time.
Having played the tutorial for this game, I can confirm it is indeed 100% accurate.
@@Andrew-zq3ip If I've told you once, I've told you a million times. Stop exaggerating.

I absolutely love the fact that you used music from the old Starfleet Command games! That was a wonderful bit of nostalgia!
Being old enough to recognize the music had me having that Captain America moment from Avengers 1
"I understood that reference!"
I thought I recognized it, wonderful soundtrack on those.
“Space… is pretty big!” it killed me 🤣
I did not realize this is an ad, amazing
I love how he instantly adjusts the chair like a car seat :D
I love how the ship battles sound like bugs buzzing around.
now this is an ad I actually stepped in to watch for myself
Oh Gods all the music from the old Starfleet command games! I miss them
Marines Away! Capture ALL the ships!
I swear, every new promotional cartoons have me even less inclined to check whatever monstrosity that game is!

This video is better and more faithful to Star Trek than Discovery and Picard combined.

"Space ... ... is pretty big...

Best Trek opener ever! xD
I like that when you started talking about Strange New Worlds, you put up a completely different Constitution Enterprise.
The fly noises with the ship battle killed me XD
Despite you simplistic style you captured La'an likeness perfectly.
Pluto is a still a planet, you can't tell me otherwise. *gently pets Pluto*
ahh yes the subtle PTW nod where he buys The Enterprise to beat a stronger foe
The god damn dogfight with the fly sounds, god that was good.
I’m not even upset, this is some internet historian-levels of ad content.
The fact he just casually ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOW IN SPACE. WHAT.
Your ads are amazing. I would watch hours of just advertising this way.
I loved the chair adjusting.
I loved the lego spock 😂
Best ad for a sponsor ever!

If you had the starship troopers announce your voice read all those lives it's perfect
The 100 pieces of Spock is too real man LMAO
Not pictured: The shitload of real money it took to go from that dinky starter ship to the enterprise...
Why can't all ads be as fun as this.
Love the yeeting of Picard there!
The hanging leg at the end.... LMAOOOOOOO!!
his art style is soooo cute when the alien does a lil wave to the starfleet capin ^^
Glad you got that sponsorship money

"Pluto isn't a planet anymore... It quit I guess." 🤣
The building Spock out of Lego’s pretty much sums up mobile games.
