I thought this was the codycan'teatthis channel's 'I remade zelda in 3d' This is great and I would love to play it but the mentioned channel's version remade it in 3d and is one step better. For instance the trees in this are like 2d cardboard cutouts in a 3d environment, the enemies are animated 2d planes. The 3d recreated version featured characters and assets made of blocks, like lego animation. The downside was that was he made it for himself & it only simulated gameplay, not a functioning game he planned to let loose. This looks very fun, a new layer of fun for one of the best games.
Gels (the slimes) and Keese (the bats) never drop anything. I don't know if its properties are changed here, but in the original they're also the only two enemies killed rather than merely stunned by the Boomerang.
Kinda interesting since Miyamoto's original idea for the first Zelda was a first person game, although it couldn't really be done with the hardware at the time.
I remember blue candles can only be used once per room and used to burn certain bushes for secret passages, light up dark rooms 👋👍 (no need to purchase it twice). You'll find a red candle in another dungeon that will burn multiple times.

Its exactly the same as the NES map but with actual verticality. Lost Wooods works properly even. The only "puzzle" that was pointless to put in was the mountain climb up to Dungeon 5
The earliest full active time FPS I can name on NES is the game called Star Voyager. its a space flight combat sim it is by all definitions a legit First person shooter even more than the Top GUn games on NES.

The original game layout should be on your HUD as the “map.” Now I want to see a 3D Zelda 2! That game was my jam (translation, I didn’t have many games 😅).
TAB button on the keyboard displays the map just like in doom and was also a natural fit to the Legend of Doom. Agreed on Zelda 2. Great game but hard as nuts.
Funny you talking about its easy to just run and shoot and not get touched. But in the OG zelda you can't move anywhere as fluidly as in this mod. You can't directly turn at an angle to attack your enemies and they move quite a bit, which is why the stop watch drop was helpful on the OG. You could only shoot one of 4 directions and you had to line up horizontally to hit them while avoiding getting hit so it actually was more difficult but they made it too easy by changing the game play dynamics to an OG FPS ha

My childhood just slapped me in the face and asked why I wasn't already playing this.
I'm liking the first person view of one of my favorite childhood classics
If your an old school Zelda player this version is definitely like playing Zelda on acid.
Dang... bro just literally skipped right by the Boomerang drop from the Goriyas in the 1st dungeon
Starbomb ruined the phrase "Its dangerous to go alone, take this" for me, lol.
No way!!!!! Didn't know how much I wanted this until seeing this video, cool concept.
1:00 in and I'm in love
Everyone - including me - asking if someone's fridge can run DOOM, but someone asked, if DOOM can run Zelda.
Not to mention it's absolutely great!
OMG the original zelda is still my favorite RPG ever. This is a dream come true!
Gotta love it whenever a developer picks music that just fades out halfway through. 😅
I thought this was the codycan'teatthis channel's 'I remade zelda in 3d'
This is great and I would love to play it but the mentioned channel's version remade it in 3d and is one step better.
This is a heck of a way to get introduced to Zelda 1.
Kinda interesting since Miyamoto's original idea for the first Zelda was a first person game, although it couldn't really be done with the hardware at the time.
I used to play this game with my older brother when I was a little girl, and would totally play this version today 😄 Very impressive 👏
I remember blue candles can only be used once per room and used to burn certain bushes for secret passages, light up dark rooms 👋👍 (no need to purchase it twice). You'll find a red candle in another dungeon that will burn multiple times.
Its Free! if you have a PC. GZDoom, Legend of Doom and FreeDoom phase 2 are all you need. This cannot be a commercial game by any definition so it was always destined to be free.
You can even play it on mobile if you get DeltaTouch app but that one is like 3 bucks iirc
"It uses rupees as ammo? That's kinda weird?"
You have clearly never played the original Zelda.
Anyone who puts this on the mods section for the new Doom 1 and 2 collection by Night Dive for the Xbox Series X woukd be a real hero. Especially for people like me who don't have gaming PCs.
Damn, Darknuts are way easier to fight when you can strafe around them.
... it's dangerous to go alone, _take this super shotgun_
Doomlink: _woot!_
In Zelda 2, those fuzzy static ghost skulls are killable, you just have to keep them stunned with constant sword attacks.
It's kinda crazy to watch someone who's never played Zelda but there's probably thousands of gaming streamers that have no idea what it is outside of some vague idea
Je suis attaqué par des hommes à tête de mouche.MOMO.
Enemies look easier to deal with but I think navigating the world would be more difficult, lol.
I have wanted to make an open world game on the DOOM engine for awhile but doubted its limits.
I am now convinced I can make it work.
Abysm 2 is the TC you need to check out since it is exactly what you are refering to for your idea type. So is the old Strife commerical game that was also made on Doom engine after Hexen.
Cool to see someone not familiar with Zelda 1 engage with it in a format they can enjoy.
Aside from the map, which needs to be made clearer and otherwise more understandable, the creator(s) did a great job at this!
Its exactly the same as the NES map but with actual verticality. Lost Wooods works properly even. The only "puzzle" that was pointless to put in was the mountain climb up to Dungeon 5
This would have made 10x the money had it first released like this. Amazing.
The earliest full active time FPS I can name on NES is the game called Star Voyager. its a space flight combat sim it is by all definitions a legit First person shooter even more than the Top GUn games on NES.
Dude just skipped right over the raft room
As someone who’s played the original Zelda since the 80s, this was hard for me to watch! Especially when you passed up the boomerang drop in the first dungeon! Anyway, cool version of the game! I’d love to try it out myself sometime!
YOU SKIPPED THE FREAKING BOOMERANG DUDE!!!! YOU LOOKED RIGHT AT IT AND WALKED AWAY IN LVL 1
The original game layout should be on your HUD as the “map.”
Now I want to see a 3D Zelda 2!
You missed the Boomerang... after you killed the Boomerang guys the Boomerang dropped but you didn't pick it up, lol.
there's a waterfall near lost hills where you can walk into...
This looks far easier than OG with the freedom of movement and slow enemy movement
MOAR of this, please @SoulsMidnight
This is so awesome. People out here out doing whole ass companies yet again.
I want to see a seasoned speed runner beat this.
Zelda 1 in 3D...ok
A Link to the past in 3D be like O..M..F..G!!!
Would've looked so much better with that texture/sprite blurring turned off
Should've messed with the settings oh well
@@SoulsMidknight TBH I'm not even sure why it is turned on by default, who even likes that look...
3D Sen VR is how you should play Zelda 1
This is the single greatest creation I have ever witnessed
Wow,this is intense ,never seen anything like this, thanks man
This would acually be cool if they used Link. No reason for doom guy
I mean doom guy in a green hat is close enough I suppose haha
@@SoulsMidknight yea haha
You can bomb blank walls to create doors in the dungeon.
