Why blame the common man for buying something he/she can afford? If public transportation is so good, lesser people will see the need to buy cars. So it is the government who should think about this issue.
I have watched this show almost 10 times
We bought Ford Figo 2011 model from our uncle in 2017 at that time i don't even had interests in car so that i have not went to my hometown to see the car. I was studying 2nd year BE mech in st.josephs, chennai. Then after 5 years we sold in 2022 as we rode it around 1 lakh kms and we had a lot of issues also Ford went out of India so it is not advisable to spend lot of money in ford car. After that my mom can't even go to any functions and hospital so that made our family worry a lot. But immediately we can't buy a new large car at that time as we are spending a huge amount for my higher studies in canada. So it stressed me a lot as my mother is spending a huge sum of money for my studies but she can't afford for a basic comfort for her life as she had pain in her legs and ankles. Then after so many confusions. One day mother of my uncle passed away in Chennai yet we had attend the death ceremony. But, our relative each and everyone had there own work on that day. So, it pushed my family to finalize our decision then we attended the ceremony and booked hyundai i20 starry night as i already compared multiple cars and decided that if we want a car then we had to opt for i20. Finally, On 10-05-2023 We bought our Hyundai I20 sportz starry night, which made me to give that car a great respect and always take utmost care for that car. But, i haven't not gave this much importance even for the first car.

Those who buy car don't have parking area. THEY PARK THEIR CARS ON THE ROAD SIDE BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT. WHEN THEY DO NOT HAVE PARKING AREA, BETTER LET THEM NOT BUY. INFACT THEY ARE BLOCKING THE WAY TO GO BY OTHERS IN TWO WHEELERS ALSO. THE REASON IS THAT THEY GET SECOND CAR FOR ONE OR TWO LAKHS THAT TOO ON INSTALMENET BASIS. FOR ECAMPLE IF A PERSON EARNS RS30000/ PER MONTH, BUY A CAR ON LONG INSTALMENT BASIS SECOND HAND CAR. GOVERMENT HAS TO INSTRUCT THE POLICE TO TOE THE CARS TO MARINA beach AND FINE IT. NOWADAYS A CAR IS A PRESTGIOUS ,SHOW THEM THEY RICH. I SAW PERSON HAVING CAR PARKING ON ROAD SIDE, TAKEN OUT MONTHLY TWICE. LET THEM BUY BUT NOT PARK ON THE ROAD. IF NO PARKING ATEA, DONOT BUY CAR
First , why she wants that complex instead of car , because for her living she is heavily dependent on that rent. She cant ask her sons money each month, but he constructs complex, after her death it is going to him only , also she mentioned he is the only son. Next she is not against buying the car, she is not against anything about him, she just want that rent for her living as she cant ask money to that son or daughter ... Also parents will feel pain when they ask money to their sons .. As a mom i can understand her feelings..Also as daughter in law said they got land, constructed , everything anyway she made him stuck in lot of loans separately .. but mother cant...she is not asking for luxury , she is asking for rent only as without that she cant manage day to day expense or ask his son everymonth .. that is the whole story here ..

Very illogical. Basically she seems to be greedy. Instead of asking son to build complex, the son can pay for her monthly expenses. Because building a complex is going to cost much more than what he is going to pay for her monthly expenses.

Everyone in life has to look up, not down. If you are in college, you have to aim to someone who is top ranker, not the guy in last bench sleeping. But I don't see why she is crying. It is not that she is going to die if the complex was not built.

But parents should make sure that a guy will never leave her at any cost and won't cheat her by having any affair. See the quality of a guy. Will he respect his wives parents and siblings? Will he help if his wives' siblings are in loans/credit? Having a car or house shouldn't be a qualification to get married. What happens if a recession comes and every IT guys loses their job? If you have enough income to maintain the car, there is noting in wrong in keeping the car. Instead of couple with 2 children going on two wheelers, risking all their life, they can buy used 800 cc car and they can travel safely. ( government has the responsibility of improving mass transit infrastructure )

People using 4 cars in home. It is justifiable if they are working in four corners of city. A better solution would be CAR POOLING as done in western country. We follow everything from west, why not this? Just think, if 100 cars or in front of you in signal/queue, it will take 10 minutes to reach the signal lamp post. If only 10 cars in front of you, you will reach your desitnation fast. A wealthy country is not where everyone has a car. Its where every rich travels in public transport. Even Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook owns a Nissan. Not a brandy Porsche or Ferrari or BMW or Benz.
