I’ve been married before when I was very young and didn’t have the skills for marriage. Yes people it take skills to be married. Maturity understanding and patience being the virtues of marriage. I didn’t have any of it. I had a son very early on and raised him myself for 16 years and now in my early 40’s I am ready with all the skill sets and what I guess I waited for without even knowing is I was waiting for a man with a good deen alhamdullilah and may have found someone compatible finally. Im 22 its not much aged for marriage but my family forcing me to get married nd i too accepted for their happiness...im fat im just fat not ugly, due to this reason im being rejected by everyone. This makes my parents so worried nd bcoz of this they are being irritating nd always saying nd hurting me im fat. You know yourself better than anyone else. The only true signs that you're ready for marriage are as follows:
1. For the man, it is that he completed his Education, he has a job, he is able to afford housing, he is responsible, he has the morals.
2. For the woman, it is that she completed her Education, she is flexible to work a Career job or become a housewife, she is flexible to reside in poverty conditions or in wealthy conditions depending on the man that proposes to her and she accepts, she has the morals to not degrade herself by following her sexual desires, and she is at an age where she is flexible to take marriage from a man that is 10 years older or 10 years younger without fear that the man is under age.
Many people say that they are "ready for marriage" and boast the word "CONFINDENCE" but in actuality, they are only ready to leave the homes of their mothers. They are not ready for COMPATIBILITY.

I’m 26, just started a new program in college. My parents want me to meet some potential girls at school or wherever I may find one. I feel like I’m still kinda young. Some uncles tell me they had their first child at my age, but I feel like I need to finish my two year program first. After watching this video, I’m not sure if I should start dating now or when I finish college. May Allah guide us all.
Selam aleykoum brother I think you should consider but you're not obliged to marry. But in my opinion it's maybe a better decision to finish your 2 years and then to think of the idea of marriage. I notice you say "I feel like I need to finish my two years..." listen to yourself it's important nobody can make a decision for you (mainly if its marriage). Then the most important thing make dua Allah is listening ;)

Sister marry when you want but my sincere advice is to marry as soon as a good proposal comes. As me and yourself know we see women in their 30s not married its because they made it the last priority. Don't let that be you. Take your time but don't keep passing opportunities. All the best.
