I'm Jason, a full-time British Travel Vlogger and UA-camr who's been to 53 countries. I've been travelling around the world full-time since 2017. So far, my trips have taken me to Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.
I have travel series' from many of the world's best (and least) known destinations. I filmed the first vlogs on my channel in the summer of 2016 after spending a year living in China. A proper solo trip around Eastern Europe followed after graduating from University in the summer of 2017, taking me to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Kosovo. This trip marked the start of my efforts to make a UA-cam full-time job.
After that European trip I went heavily into exploring Asia, visiting India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Kazakhstan (seeing me cover a lot of Far East and Southeast Asia in particular).
I have also travelled to North Africa and the Middle East fairly extensively over the last five years, filming videos in Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Israel and Palestine.
To date, I have not yet been to Australasia or South America. Though I am hoping to visit the latter sometime in 2022, along with a first stop in the Caribbean.
I've travelled to North America just once as a UA-camr, visiting Mexico in 2021. Though I have been to both the USA and Canada, this was as a child on family holidays.
In 2022, I took my first trip to Sub Saharan Africa, visiting both Kenya and Tanzania, before making my way to the Middle East, stopping in Dubai on my way to Lebanon.

Lebanon is unlike any country in the ME. First of all, our ancestors are Phoenicians. The were the makers of the Mediterranean. They spread their alphabet, they connected everybody in the region through trade. Second, we look different from other middle easterners. As you can see we have variety--tan and white people. All are completely Lebanese, but you don't have this variety in other arabic speaking countries.

Hi Jayson, my 1st deployment as a young solider when i was just 17 was with the Irish defence forces was to Lebanon, part of a mandate with the United nations 40 years ago. I have so many found memories from back then. life was far from easy for the people, we seen and dealt with a lot but always done our best to safe guard the people of the country. And still do to the present day, what a beautiful country with a nation of the loveliest people you could ever hope to meet warm and sincere and welcoming, long live the people of Lebanon! If you do get a chance to visit south Lebanon check out the UN base in Naquora its almost like a small city, when i was there it was just tents lol

It has so much history, culture and the loveliest of people! Byblos is one of my favourite cities. If you have the chance, try and visit the Qadisha valley that lies in the Bsharri district. I agree with the comments section. Despite its problems, I think in terms sites, geography and most importantly people and culture, Lebanon is still the best country in Arab world. The people seem more civilized, humble, honest and genuine here. It's the last great bastion of Christianity in the Arab world, and is the closest you'll find to original Arab culture. It's rare for such a small country to have so many different sites, cultures and environments. Right now isn't the best time to visit, but Lebanon has been through worse. The country will get back on its feet, and when it does, you should return to experience it at its best.
And yes, there are rich and middle class people in Lebanon, but don't assume they have it any better. My friend is rich, and she fled to Paris. A lot of people are leaving, and you really can't get a sense of how bad the situation is if you are only visiting for a few days as a tourist. They may look like they're doing well because they're eating out, but I assure you, they are suffering like everyone else. But people still need to get out and unwind.

I am presently researching the name of 'Byblos' and it seems to come down to us from the Greeks i.e. meaning papyrus; and later in the Christian period this city with a scriptorium became known for producing Bibles or Bilia and hence the name Bible!
However, much older names for this city are- from Egypt 2600BCE it was also known Kubna or Kenny/ Hebrew as Geval then Gebal (EZ 27.9)
As a Phoenician city it was culturally linked to Tyre and Sidon (That Tyre actually being a small coastal island itself)
re; the name Byblos was historically easy to 'confuse' sounds like G, B, V and depending upon your preference its always a li confusing! Yet in Byblos their chief deity seems to have been- 'Baalet' a female goddess My Lady and similar to the Egyptian Hathor or Greek Astarte. And as such it would definitely have been a threat to the Israelite God- YAHWEH and condemned! Problem being the Phoenicians with their vast maritime trading connections made them the envy of the Mediterranean and to get rich one did get involved with all of the Phoenicians as this was true of all the cultures surrounding it!
Christians note this- Byblos / Baalet (Very similar to Babel and Bel their deity!) Here, for now, I am 'suspecting that' the very vocabulary word for- ' Bible' although spelled different 'sounds just like Bi /By/ Bel (Bel being the Babylonian god!) Thereby- through the Greeks and into English this same False god is in the very English word the Christian world uses for- Bible- Bi /By / Bel- The Babylonian False god !!!!!!!

From "papyrus" to "Byblos" to "Bible". This harbour in ancient time was transshipment centre of papyri from Egypt to Greece, hence the Greek word "biblion", then the English word "Bible".

How would you rate Lebanon compared to similar places in the Middle East and Europe? Is it worth going there in the current state?

Hey. I ve been twice to Lebanon, the country is very secure, people are awesome 😎 they are 50% Christians and 50% moderate muslims, unlike their gulf neighbors who seemed a bit extremist for me. Plus no desert in Lebanon as I was told, it's a beautiful gem in the middle east, hopefully i can go again 🙏❤️
