There's delicious Lebanses food (obvs) but there are empty and desolate streets that are quite seriously completely void of life...

Can't believe u didn't pass by harissa at the heart of jounieh on top of the mountain overlooking the bay it would have been a super duper trip by cable car.... Just 12 minutes from geita caves the guide guy for sure knows about the place paragliding there is listed top 1 thing to do out of beirut and there's a very nice old church and a cool new cathedral 😅🙈🙈🙈....... But have to say.... GuyszZz u'r just awesome... 🌲🌲🌲🌲 Keep up the good work...
By d way Lebanon definitely needs multiple visits.... Mid winter,, mid summer... Or even spring... U can also take a helicopter tour with the lebanese army.... Totally public totally awesome... Or venture in some hiking trails in some of its cedar trees reserves or other 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎯🍻 note Merrrryyyy Christmas and a very happy new year 2023☃️❄️🍾🎄🎅🎁

Like it's constant non stop of activities in Lebanon
And each city each town got it kind of tourism area
It's an old country even me ad Lebanese and I past my life visit each corner and till some places they keep popping up .
As for food try to make local friends
So u can eat our food
Lebanese food is different from many country
Other countries u can try their food in the restaurant
Exemple italian food Indian Turkish French
Lebanese what u each is a restaurant is what we call restaurant food
What u eat at home is what we call tabekh like ( cooking food )
It's a country with a rich culinary just as mezzeh we have over than 130 plats
No counting the main dished , the cooking dish called tabekh.
Beside each are have their way of making a plate even if they are a next city or next village

11:00 that's the Cathedral of Saint John and Marcus built by the Crusaders .. here's an interesting fact : Byblos is a Christian city with the majority being Maronites (originaly phoenicians who kept worshipping Baal untill the monks of Saint Maroun who were refugese in the mountains made contact, preached and baptised them in the 400s and named their church after their teacher Maroun ) , so when the arab muslims invaded Lebanon in the 7th century and began colonizing the coast the Maronites began resisting the occupation and fighting back , they were however overwhelmed and forced to retreat into the mountains where the muslim armies couldn't pursue them.. they stayed in hiding untill the Crusaders came and freed them , the Maronites joined the Crusades with a force of 40000 warrior ,their faithfullnes to their european brothers throughout the crusades earned them entry to the Catholic church
My first time was actually during the troubled period. As a child coming from Aus flying in with mum & siblings '81 Christmas/New year ceasefire which could have erupted again at any time seeing the destroyed buildings was surreal never experienced anything like it.
Experiencing my ancestral home was great but the people experienced terrible times.
I have relatives there who as Aus citizens refused to leave & still remain there as many Lebanese are desperate to leave nowadays.

*YES I HAVE!* 🤣 The word "BIBLE" comes from this word. It's an ancient Phoenician city. I think the earliest sample of ideographic alphabet - a Phoenician alphabet - was found here. Ancient Greek alphabet and consequently all modern European alphabets are ultimately based on this ancient semitic Phoenician alphabet.

Byblos was home to Saint Aquilina the phoenician martyr . Born in 281 A.D inside ancient Byblos , she spent her childhood preaching her Christian faith to kids her age untill the roman Governor Volusian jailed her ,the pagans told her to leave Christ but she refused so they brutaly tortured her , struck her face , stripped and flogged her then drilled her ears with heated iron rods and threw her unconcious body outside the gates to rot , later that night she rose up amd walked back in to Volusians court , he freaked out, accused her of witchcraft and sentenced her to beheading in the morning , before her neck was struck she fell and died , she was 12 years old
wow cool story..yeah back in the day..they took their pagan religions of worshiping several gods very seriously and were very resistant to accept any new religion

Facts about the Lebanese Civil War: The main cause if the war was not religious instead it was bcz of isreal and the PLO who fleet to lebanon and the allegiance of each of the lebanese community(with/against)
