Hi folks :) I hope you’re having a great day so far! Welcome back to what’s for tea, and I hope I find you all very well.
This week we went to Tesco and the local butcher…I spent just over £48. I had a money off voucher and also some great club card savings! It should have been about £76, so was really happy paying £48 :)
If you like these types of videos, please leave a like so that I know you like them…and I’ll do more in future.
take care x

Good evening folks! It is indeed Saturday and not Thursday! 😆 Thanks for joining me! I'll be down in the comments for a wee while.
Thursday? Have I seriously overslept or somehow woken up two days ago?
@@arthurvasey 😂😂😂
I always get the extra large washing powder even though I live on my own because it lasts a month.
@@robertgoh7420 Lasts for such a long time doesn't it! 😯
@@WhatsForTea yes and that way it saves me a bit of money so I don't have to keep buying it.
I actually love spending the time ‘going shopping with you’. I honestly don’t know why, but there’s something easy and comforting about it. Maybe as an American, it’s just about listening to your voice and the tone and the accent... again, easy and comforting. Or maybe it’s about knowing that there’s not going to be anything that brings up tension or worry. Maybe it’s all of those. And maybe it’s just that you’re giving a bit of your time to us... and that’s a gift. Time with you on these videos is always a bit easy and comforting. So thank you. And know that I appreciate what you share.
All of that and the fact that 95% of the people in the comments rock!
Well said
I agree. I chuckle to myself when I think about looking forward each week to seeing what she bought and what she fixed for tea. I’m an American too and like you said, there’s something very comforting about this channel. It’s fascinating to me the exceptional quality of the food she buys and how cheap it is compared to what we pay. And yes, the accent is wonderful. This is definitely one of my favorite channels.
Also from ths US, and I find it interesting to see the different foods from another country. As a bonus, you sound like my high school chorus teacher who was from Scotland. There aren't a lot of Scottish people here in NYC, so it's a bit of nostalgia to hear your accent😊
@@LindaC616Yeah... isn’t this a wonderful community !!!
Hardcore shopping snoops... thats us and we're proud of it ❤
I watch weekly/ monthly grocery videos from several creators. We're the 'snoop group' ! 🧐 😄
hahahahaha, count me in.
Hi Cheryl I don't find it a problem that you buy the same similar products each week because - 1. can't really remember them and 2. you keep me up to date on prices and also give good cooking ideas. I look forward to your 2 videos each week. Thank you!!!
Thank you David, always lovely to see you my friend ☺👍
Yes, I like yo see the prices you pay for food in Blighty! Here in Australia, prices are still on the up! If it wasn't for 'weekly specials' we might starve! (Just kidding!)
I love the shoppiung hauls because the food prices are so different in Scottland compaired to America even with the exchange rate. Here we shop ALDI and never get out the door witjout paying $90 or more US.
I do approximately $300 every other week for two.
Ditto with food prices in Australia - and we don't even have an Aldi here in Tasmania! Just 2 main supermarket 'giants', who really charge what they like! But the Govt is beginning to lean on their profits so fingers crossed!
Ditto in New Zealand too ❤
You have introduced me to a couple of new items to buy so I like to watch your hauls. It also scratches the ‘need to shop’ itch a little bit, so it saves me money! 🤣
Love your shopping hauls and I always have a big smile when you say Mr What's for tea
I admit, I "hate watch" your shopping videos. Started during the pandemic as I was layed off from work. As an American I am always facinated by how much cheaper many products are. I also love how clearly marked origins are for meat & produce. Now i've come to love your narration & respect the work you put into the channel. Not easy to photograph food, break down recipes, etc. [I'm a banquet Chef, who's also taught cooking classes]. When I saw your 'heartagram' tattoo that's when became a subscriber. Another GenXer doing their own thing. Gapadh leat! ❤
Ah thank you so much...thank you for sticking with me Leigh! ☺
I am one of the few who tunes in for your shopping hauls, as well as your other videos. Thanks for doing them❤!
I love the shopping videos!! I enjoy seeing what you get in Scotland and you plan on cooking as compared to America. I think your fruit and veg is much better quality and price than what we get here and your selection of crisps and yogurts is way better 😋
I look forward to your Saturday videos. I've been here from the beginning, I'm not going anywhere ❤
I just love seeing your selections and prices!!❤
Cheryl I just love watching your weekly shop. Wish some of our grocery items were that cheap here in 🇺🇸. Those potatoes look fab!
Our local grocery store doesn’t carry watermelon until the local growers are harvesting (they really are the best, I think) Because of this, your watermelons in your recent shopping hauls have made me so jealous!
Water melon with feta cheese and mint is a lovely refreshing salad.
I do enjoy your shopping hauls Cheryl, gives me ideas lol. Thanks for sharing xx
These are my very favourite videos from all my channel subscriptions. Please Cheryl, don’t stop making them. I look forward to watching your food shop every week.
Love seeing what you've bought for the week ❣ Nice to see different things that we don't get in South Africa. Im jealous 😂
I save this one up till sunday afternoon and then watch them both after my tea to round off the weekend
Potato and Leek soup is called 'Cawl Tatws a Chennin' in the land of my birth (Wales!) I love it and would happily have it every week - if only our leeks weren't so expensive! £1 EACH - and that's on a good day!! But sometimes you just have to bite the bullet, don't you! Oh, and show me a pussycat that doesn't love salmon! Our cat can fly - right across the room when I open a can of (human!) salmon!!
I love a good grocery haul!! And I love your accent.
Good afternoon, Cheryl. Hope all is well in your corner of the world. I always look forward to watching your videos. They are the highlight of my week. Have a great rest of your day and see you tomorrow for meals of the week.
All is very well in our wee corner of the world! Hope you're good! ☺
I never used to shop at Sainsbury's, too expensive, but just lately they have got some really good nectar card deals, plus their overeseas aisles have some really interesting bits and bobs. Can't beat McCains for frozen chips x
I like all your videos. Even the shopping ones.
Having left Scotland about 40 years ago, I am not used to the prices nowadays so, when I saw yoghurt for only 1 pound 50, I yelled out 30 Bob for one bleeding’ yogurt? I am shocked but love your programme.
Love your shopping haul.
What, I never miss this video.
Hello Cheryl that Twinings detox tea looks good i buy Twinings tea all the time from Coles so i will look out for it.
Hi Cheryl, sainsburys is my local , I find since they introduced nectar savings and aldi price matching I save quite a bit of cash now. Love the shopping videos I just like to see what other people buy. 😊
Ooh sorry a bit late watching this we were out yesterday!! Good shop there & some great savings think all the big supermarkets are doing vouchers etc at the moment. Which is good as the price of things now have shot up. Yes got to save where you can, I find supermarket own brand things fine, especially tins etc, obviously somethings I'm willing to spend more on , but £1.80 for heinz soup is just ridiculous.
Hi, just found your channel, really enjoying your posts, keep up the good work, all the best 👍
Hi Cheryl. Always enjoy your posts. Here in the northeast US we are still getting over the 4.8 magnitude earthquake we had yesterday. Never had anything like that in my lifetime…the ground shook under my feet and it was so scary. My pup Emma was so frightened and hasn’t been right since. Our daughter and her husband live just a few miles from the epicenter and they had several aftershocks as well. Your post took my mind off the situation. Thank you…always enjoy your posts 😊
Please don’t be scared this was the third I have felt since coming to America, I’m in NYC,but before I lived in NJ and the strongest shake I felt was in Closter in 1983,that felt like an express train ran under the house, set off all the alarms in the neighborhood,I know Whitehouse Station well.Anyway don’t be afraid,it will probably be years till you feel the next one,my cats were fine, hid for a few minutes, but then they came back out.
Girl, you know I'm hard core! 😆
Hi Cheryl great video Sainsbury's is nectar card Tesco is clubcard.ive got both and co op and Iceland cards too x
I love your grocery haul videos. It helps me get ideas for suppers.
Hi Cheryl I like seeing what you brought the cheese and garlic flat bread is something I would definitely buy..Can't wait to what your meals of week.
I love watching the shopping videos, though I admit I get jealous to see some of the really beautiful produce you get at much less than we pay here in the USA. Also appreciate having the country of origin labels. And, this week - what a bonus, to see your club card savings. I absolutely love when I can save a bunch on groceries, sometimes it's almost a third off. I just love looking at the receipt and seeing all the minus signs 😂
I love the food haul..but then I love shopping…and nectar prices!! 👍🇬🇧
Whow that looks really yummy won’t be long and I will be making it thank you x
I love the food haul videos,
Your weekly shop is my favorite video. It helps me keep up with US prices. I watch a lady in Canada who does the same
I enjoy all your videos ❤
I always like your shopping vids - I'm looking for inspiration
I love a good bargain! Its fun seeing what you pick up 😊
I love these videos ❤
Thank you so much for watching! Much appreciated 🥰
Hi Cheryl, hope you are well. You got an another great shopping bargain at Sainsbury’s with your card. Coming from UK my Dad, family and friends tell me about the prices of things gone up but it’s the same in California 3 times higher then they use to be and in smaller packages. But we shouldn’t complain as much because you and my family, friends pay far more than we ever do at the grocery store & my parents always said that when they use to visit. Have a wonderful weekend ❤❤❤.
Have a lovely weekend...thanks for stopping by ☺
Enjoy your shopping videos and of course your meals of the week I'm a Scot living in England we don't have a Sainsburys but I see like Aldi, Asda and lidl the 2.5 kilo bags of potatoes have shrunk to 2 kilo I think shrink flation strikes again take care x
I watch your videos quite a lot I never use soap powder because few years ago it blocked my pipes up of my washing machine, So I use Pods now they are good and the fairy ones,
You can double your points for days out, restaurants etc
Fab haul x x
Wow that is big savings. Great job. I shop once a month because we have to drive so far away (60 miles round trip.) I love all of your videos. Love Ya.
I'd love to just shop once a month...but I wouldn't have enough space for everything 😭😭😭💙
I love this video. Seeing the produce you have is n Scotland 🏴 rather than Canada 🇨🇦.
We used to get Kerry gold butter its gone. Very funny you won’t pay for Tomato soup. In Canada Campbells tomato soup is $2.39. For a small tin so yours is a bargain 🎉❤😊😅
I'm impressed, looks delicious. Great savings.
I come back every week for the cayenne pepper 😅
I thought it was Tesco clubcard and Sainsbury's nectar card.
I call them all the same thing 😂
I don't know how you can get by with just a 4 pack of tp. I buy 36 1,000 sheet rolls and get scared when I get down to less than 10 rolls.😆
God bless you!❤🎉😊
I live alone and don't drive...I suffer from anxiety and can't drive..it breaks my heart I have to depend on deliveries and can't do my own shopping. 🙈
Make your own chips!
You saved lots , I love Sainsbury's. Did you realise you kept saying clubcard not nectar😀. Have you got the recipe for aero tray bake please
Watching now Cheryl x love Lucy x
Thank you Lucy!
I wish i could buy scones here in Illinois usa
@pattyperkins5007 Wish I could find them in Pittsburgh Pa
They are so easy girls to make. I’ve been watching my nana make them since she sold them in her shop when I was a little girl back in 1960 in the village in NW ENGLAND 🏴. people came and queued up on the days she made them to get them hot out of the oven. She put sultanas in (golden raisin’s) in USA). I’ve lived here 36 years next month. Good luck making them. Get a recipe off BBC cooking channel Mary Berry or her partner on the Baking show will have one . Just don’t handle the dough much like biscuits over here. 🩷🌸🩷🌸
@@patticallihan8515 thank you
@@pattyperkins5007 what bakeries and places like Starbucks call scones here in the US are just not the same as Scones from Britain and Ireland. Completely different taste and texture. I just won’t eat them. As a Scot living in the US I do miss being able to nip out and buy good scones. As for making them, I have done so, but flour here is not the same as back in Britain especially self raising so had find a recipe online for creating the right self raising flour and oh what a difference. Same for whole wheat flour for making brown Irish soda bread. US whole wheat flour not the same as that in Ireland. Took a few tries to perfect but so worth it.
❤️
That cheese is cheaper than Aldi's.
❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊

Sainsbury's "Clubcard?" ... That's Tesco, isn't it? Surely you mean Sainsbury's Nectar Card?
Where did you get the voucher please x
I just got it sent through email Alison 🙂
@@WhatsForTea thanks x
It’s Saturday Cheryl not Thursday 😂😂
So it is 😂😂😂 thank you! 😘
