I really appreciate that despite everything being digital, you don't take the unlimited amount of parts for granted and actually use things like brick and plywood for extreme changes in elevation the way most of us city builders would in real life. Keep up the great work!
Simply incredible! Your attention to details in making everything look realistic, like the tables not perfectly aligned, is borderline insane but sells it 100%! And the city is going to be epic! Amazing work!
For real I just saw this for the first time and my initial thought was that the "it's digital" was an inside joke here among the viewers because it all looked perfectly real at first
No matter how many times I watch these videos, the attention to detail is so high I find it difficult it's not real! Even the little pieces of paper or wood not perfectly aligned, but in a realistic setup. It's just amazing!
The fact you're creating an industrial cityscape is fascinating, making this series 100x more interesting than a digital 'standard' city that usually have too much crammed into too little space. Your layout feels natural and realistic.
This has got to be one of the most underrated projects on UA-cam - very high production quality, very creative, and a staggering amount of creative and technical talent. Love it!
I don't often leave likes and comments, but your digital creation demands that I give you both. I hope that you continue this project into the future and I hope others discover what you're building here too!
Would have loved to see a little in-progress work on the yellow building. Driver's eye view was fantastic - steering wheel animations were just superb. I love the gritty, urban feeling of this series in contrast to the idyllic European village aesthetic of BrickCrafts
Amazing work! I would love to see a “behind the scenes” of how you work in Blender with the render settings, camera, and exporting from studio to blender
Love the elevated rail spur! I believe most of those in real life are former coaling docks - you'd spot a hopper car full of coal there and it'd dump out below the cars into large bins for delivery to local buildings for heating! They're more common in the northeastern US, and you can see plenty of them if you know where to look! Very curious to see what you'll repurpose this one into.
@@CanosieLabs That'd be super cool, though probably not the most realistic for the middle of a city! Ore trains were almost always *only* carrying huge quantities of ore and it's rare to see ore jennies mixed in with a normal train. I had planned an abandoned coal dock turned scrap yard that looked a lot like this on my N scale layout - could be a cool direction to go - gondolas would come in above and a large claw crane would load them full of scrap from below.
bro... i am spechless. The build iteself is very good, but the visualization, the attention to details like random scattered legos. You sems to have the production quality of an actual studio, tv level quality. Bravoh, phenomenal work.
It just gets better each video - again your color choices and detail make your city stand out from any other Lego city, and as others have said, it really does look real! Your brick choices are so good
while its neat that the embankment is raised by bricks, I think that many of the cities on youtube typically use their own custom wood structures (though that may be for larger height differences mostly). like the lore that its just a temporary permanent fix though.
Even though I understand this is not real LEGO, it still fools me every scene! It is just that incredible. I would be really interesed to see the process behind the scene! Also, I cant wait when LEGO games start to look like this.
thanks! Yeah, I want to talk about the process behind at some point. There are some interesting tweaks I had to do for performance reasons that are somewhat interesting.
How is this possible. It looks amazing, you really cant say the difference between digital and real lego. You put such en effort in the detail, this is amazing. The lightning on the bricks, the camera movements.. awesome
your videos are so calming and nice . I think it’d suit the vibe if you had music playing the whole time , not just at the end :)) my favorite royalty free track is Soul & Mind by E’s Jammy Jams !
It's really cool to see what could be done with a pretty much infinite budget and availability, but idk... it all being digital just doesn't feel the same to me. Theres outstanding talent in Lego building and CGI work here though, no doubts about that at all.
The only thing that gives away the fact that this is digital is the camera movements. And just barely. It's really messing with my head that it's not real
hi, That's a good question. I do make some optimizations even now. At some point I'll have to start breaking the city in to separate files and this is ok since close up shots don't ever show the entire city. I have tried some quick performance tests to see how zoomed out shots that pan across the entire city would work. I did it by duplicating the existing buildings so isn't a 'true' performance 'test' since I basically created many many linked duplicates of my existing buildings but this is all I can do for now. It did seem to handle quite a large city. Of course the viewport becomes unusable long before this. This is somewhat ok since I can just hide the buildings I'm not working on.
Sorry, but I still can't really believe that this is digital. Could you do me a favor and simply show that you can easily copy a house in the next video? It is such an incredible work (both literally and figuratively :-D) Please go ahead and show us more of it!
Wow! It becomes better and better! How do you manage to render this out without shaky and dancing shadows? I rendered a lego video and especially the reflections and shadows are dancing!
hi, some of the flicking is caused by the denoising. In fact, the scene where the camera is inside the truck originally had a lot of flickering near the corners. I removed that using Divinci Resolve temporal noise reduction. It works pretty good..though you do loose some fine detail though. So it's a balance.
hi, I render at 30fps and so a 20 second clip is 600 frames. Each frame takes around 1 min to 1:20 min to render. So a 20 second clip takes hours. Like around 15hrs. I spread out the rendering over weeks, usually at night. But sometimes I make a mistake and have to re-render a segment which is painful :( It's all done on my PC which has a decent 3090 video card. I haven't tried using a render farm yet.

I agree. I can't convince myself this is a rendering. Occasionally there is something that doesn't feel real (one of the camera moves early in this video being one of them), but the rest is just brilliant.
These are by far the most realistic LEGO buildings. Please provide building plans for them. But I'm not convinced, that this is made with Blender. It looks too real. Please put something in the next video to convince me, that this buildings are not build from real LEGO bricks.
hi. I wanted to build a Lego city, but I don't have the space for it where I live. Or the spare money. But I do really like the creative aspects of building (I did a bit of HO scale modeling - trains in the past). So I decided to try it out in digitally.
I really appreciate that despite everything being digital, you don't take the unlimited amount of parts for granted and actually use things like brick and plywood for extreme changes in elevation the way most of us city builders would in real life. Keep up the great work!
Well, having too many excess bricks also tax the machine
the unnececary detail of "constructing" the tables, i love it, cheff kiss

new favorite youtube series
I love all of the world building elements you add to the city, it makes it feel so alive.

Its insane how real this looks. Fabulous work!
thanks!
I still cant comprehend it
wait the entire thing is digital as the room table etc.? very nice
yup!, whole thing is digital. Well expect that small part where I show my hand placing down a brick :P
These renders are amazing! You keep saying over and over that it's all digital but my mind keeps saying, 'No way! This has GOT to be a real build!"
I still can't believe this is all digital, it looks so good! Keep up the series, love it

Still can't believe how real this looks! At this point im starting to doubt if I'm real
This is such a unique series! Never stop please
Love seeing out construction traffic barrels in the city, nice work super cool!

I really want to make one of those iron ore docks you see in the Great Lakes ie the ones in Duluth

You now have suprised me 3 times in a row, I realy like this series!
I watched this twice. I love all the details, the heart and humour you pour into it! So so cool
dang, im really loving this series so far
i have been waiting for this, blows my mind that this can be done. good work!

The only thing in the video itself that makes it look digital is when the camera clips through the leaves, and the doors.
yeah, i try to avoid that. :/
Best series on Legotube these days!
haha thanks!
Perfect! My eyes still can't believe that it's digital
This is so cool. My fondness of lego meets my fondnss of old industrial areas 😄 The rendering is on point!
You deserve a million followers, you have a real eye for making a realistic city
thanks!
Great content! Love the realism..., not just the digital lego part
Once this channel goes viral, some fan will recreate this city in real Lego.
This might be the coolest thing ive ever seen. Good job!
I really like your style. Making it digitally but also keeping it kind of real.
Legit my favorite LEGO city! Keep up the good work!
I love the detail of using bricks to raise the plywood :D Would be sick if you could walk around it like in a 3D game..
I really wanna see something like Episode 300 when you have a building in size of Gotham lol!
Your building style is mind blowing!!!!! I just love it.
thanks!

Sub-scribed! This is awesome, I love this concept! No limitations, and some super cool builds can’t wait to see more!
Did you photoscan the cardbox at 3:40 ? That by itself is very impressive from a CGI perspective!
hi, It is, but I didn't photoscan it myself. The box is from Quixel Megascans.
This really is amazing, I love how you not only detail the city but also everything else 😉
thanks !
@@CanosieLabs no problem, keep up the great work!

You can write a script for instruction generation? Will interesting build some your building.
Are you concerned about unfeasible remdertimes as you add more and more geometry to the scene?

Do you plan on making a full blown city in this serius? Like a full downtown, industrial, residential and so on

if bro wins the lottery, he needs to build this irl
