That hat went from "yeehaw" to dapper real good! I shaped my fedora using the steam from a tea kettle. Turned out pretty good even though I'd never shaped a hat before. Thanks for the demo.
Amazing video ! but i do have a question though. What solutions, or anything at all would you suggest i use to stiffen a blank felt sheet ? i plan to make a felt hat from a felt sheet, not a even a blank body. Who knows you might have the answer for me, thanks a lot. Again great video
Thanks for the video! I picked up an old Akubra on Ebay with a flat and crooked brim. Your video is exactly what I need. BTW Winchesters, guitars, fedoras, and Harris Tweed jackets- what more does a guy need?
Could use a pressing cloth to protect the hat. Though maybe the hot dripping water keeps the snakes out of your boots? For the snap, could you rest it upside down in a container the same size as the brim and press down from above (below?) Or, maybe use a bone folder to press that brim?
Pretty sure hes talking way back west not today lol at hes got a point. Wide brim hats like the modern cowboy hats where designed after the mexican sombrero later in the 1800’s
I didn't see his armory in the background until I read this. Lots of rifles! Plus, he has snakes in all of his boots. Who knows what kind? Could be garters, could be rattlers; I don't know! He's Dangerous!...in hats
you can just dont do it to much or it could shrink the hat. a fur felt hat is deffinetley worth the investment. Check out akubra hats. you can buy them from hats by the hundred.
Mmmmm no, perhaps it was, WAS like that, but then came along a man in 1865 a legend by the name of JOHN B STETSON invented his legendary cowboy hat that revolutionalised the wild west and since then westerners opted for cowboy hats for there SUPER versatility and style. So no, you sir, are semi-wrong, stetson hats are the most western hats out here
I think he was talking about old west "real world" hats, not john wayne movie and tv westerns, or dress hats. Just like real world old west didn't wear the fancy tooled, drop, tie to the thigh, holsters. They were usually in a cheap belt holster, or sash, or tucked in the waist, crossdraw holsters.
Use a teapot it’s easier
You sir are absolutely correct. Using a teapot is definitely easier.
Or boil water over your stove in a small soup pot . Tons of steam when it's boiling...
Just a heads up...Skip to at least 3:30 guys, so you can get to the point.
I honestly should've looked at the comments before skipping all the talk smh
Thank you!
This dude definitely likes to hear himself talk
I prefer Fedora's looking like the big city, Sam Spade Noir detective style. 2nd choice is Indiana Jones'.
4:07 I like this guy
I really enjoyed the way you stretched two minutes worth of information into five minutes and 14 seconds worth of time.
Good job, good job.

Help I want a yeehaw
Steaming with an iron is one way to do it.. but remember that the tea kettle is your friend.
Oh my God can someone give me my 5 minutes and 14 seconds back.
"Roll Tide!" 😁You country folk are funny and genuine. Good video!
"there's a snake in my boot " hilarious 😆😂 - thanks for the smile 😁-

Thanks for sharing. Just didn't look like enough curvature for a fedora.

Nice videos. May I ask what camera are you using? Thanks.
You have to be careful with putting Heat near a Leather Sweatband or it could shrink and change the Hat Size.
Worked, thanks!
Instruction starts at 3:30 seconds.
Me: a young witch
Him: alright neck beards!
Have a new Borsalino with an impractical flat brim. In the South you have to turn the brim in order to make rain run off the front, not the back
Don't wear a Borsalino in the rain if you want the shape to last. Get a rain hat.
Come to Texas, you will see a 1000 hats, stetson, resistol, bailey, but nooooo fedoras, sorry. Lol
wide brim Fedora's were popular with turn of century(1900) Australian Cowboys ;)
Stetson makes nice fedoras
Come to Australia. We have kubra’s, kubra’s, kubra’s and more bloody Kubra’s
Pretty sure hes talking way back west not today lol at hes got a point. Wide brim hats like the modern cowboy hats where designed after the mexican sombrero later in the 1800’s
But not many fedoras where worn, he was correct on the derby/bowler hats
haha thas what she sad ..just lovely natural timing haah
What ever you do don't ever break into this man's house lol
I didn't see his armory in the background until I read this. Lots of rifles! Plus, he has snakes in all of his boots. Who knows what kind? Could be garters, could be rattlers; I don't know! He's Dangerous!...in hats
Doesn't make a difference if you don't get to it in time , and load it and fire it and are awake enough to know what's going on .
Your editing is actually pretty good!
I have a wool hat, brim is floppy, how do I stiffen it?
A light mist with hairspray. Saw that on another video.
I have a floppy too and want to stiffen it.
Oh, sorry, didn't see the wool hat part, nevermind.
Lol this guy sounds like the priest from letterkenny 🤣🤣🤣
Can I find Scala wool felt outback hats, In TEXAS?!?!?!
According to John Ballard up above, you cant have those in texas.
Shaping hats with Kevin Spacey
Get a beaver belly felt hat and shape it any way you wish without the steam.
This guy looks like Shane from buzzfeed unsolved
I was gonna leave a like till you mentioned TRUMP
Gay

Is it definatly a WOOL, not FUR Fedora. Been told not to steam WOOL.?

Liked the video but had to thumbs down for the agent orange reference
