I wasn't paying attention and my movers packed my beautiful felt hat at the bottom of a box full of clothes and shoes.........praying your method works! EDIT:: it did!!! I know its just a hat, but it looks new again. Thanks for your video ❤️. Additionally, I ordered some hat stiffener (Brickmore Kahl). I will edit my comments again letting you know how it went!
Thank you Sir! I accidentally eft my wool Kangol Mowbray Pork Pie Hat in my car for a few weeks and the summer heat caused it to fold and warp. I will try this out and post my results. Side note, whoever shot and edited this did a stellar job on the colors and skin tones. Aces
Hi Nathan, It's definitely a sad sight to see, when a headgear gets crushed. Looking forward to the results of that Pork Pie. We hope you're able to get it to like new condition. And thanks very much! We take great pride in editing and production. 🤗 📽
Bought a beautiful hat in Italy that got CRUSHED in my suitcase on my way back home. Dude, this video saved it! Steaming it worked perfectly! Thank you for this!!!
Purchased a hat on line. Upon opening the package, I discovered my hat was crashed. So I googled how to straighten a straw hat and you showed up on UA-cam. WOW I watched your video and I almost forgot that I had a steamer. The steamer solved the problem now my hat looks great thanks again! 😅
great video! i bought my first hat from Brixton and it came completely mangled, it even had this whole setup in the box to keep it in the right shape and clearly that didn't work at all, luckily i had a old steamer lying around, but i wouldn't have known what do exactly without this video! so thanks! kudos on the evergreen content that keeps on helping people like me!
Didn't have a steamer but like any self-respecting Italian I do have a big pot for spaghetti. Boiled some water in there and used that steam to repair my hat; worked well.
Great video I wouldn’t have known that it would be possible to save the straw hat after all of the damage it had on it....hopefully you guys will be getting more of those straw hats in soon!!!! I’ve been waiting on that particular one!
We've since updated the design of the Burgundy Trilby to have a Black Contrasting Ribbon. But you may find it here 👉🏽 s-gents.com/collections/hats-short-brim/products/sg-trilby-fedora-burgundy-v2
I have a Scala 'New Yorker' Fadora which has a leather sweatband and looks just like the red one you were fixing and the blue one you showed (expect it is grey). With that being said, do I only steam the outside of the hat or is there a different way to steam the inside?
Hi Mr. Arellanes, You can steam from the inside or outside, however, it's typically easier to steam gently from the outside to target the areas that need fixing and attention. Hope this helps. 👍🏼
At what point does the cost of electricity plus time invested make a hat not worth fixing? Mine looks like it’s been pushed up somethings backside for a week.
I just bought a bunch of slightly crushed vintage hats for £2 a piece, all kinds of materials, straw, viscose, propylene etc. Would this be safe for all of them?
Not sure about the viscose and propylene since those are synthetic materials. But this procedure should work great on wool and straw fedoras. Good luck! 👍🏾
@@s_gents it's the Stetson Black Hawk. A gambler hat, I think? It is supposed to have a flat brim. I'm about to watch the video you linked in the other comment
Great question sir! You can find the hat stiffener in the link below. For a water based varnish, try any home building department store in your area i.e. (Home Depot or Lowe's) and they will surely have some in stock! Here is a good example of a *water based varnish* - www.jerrysartarama.com/montana-water-based-spray-varnish Kahl Hat Stiffner - rebrand.ly/y7amb4z
Because leather is such a delicate material, if you intend to steam it, please use a VERY very low level of steam, and steam from the inside of the hat.

Thank you so much for this video! I got a hat from Texas and ruined it in my luggage bag. I used my iron steamer, and it worked like a charm.

@s_gents love the clothes. Will we get more colors and different styles soon?
How do you get the drown one to cress down wards?
How do I fix the ribbon area if instead of a ribbon on my fedora is a leather belt/band that's not sewed to the had?
What seems to be the issue with the band?
Thanks so much my brutha
Man this is fire!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it sir!
Hi any recommendation for a good steamer? Thanks
Check your local Bed Bath & Beyond or Amazon. They have a good collection of hand held steamers. Connair is a good brand. 👍🏾

Is that computer background from "firewatch"?
My fedora got put in a washing machine and is now completely ruined. Please help
If there is not a horrible color loss, try following the step by step instructions above and see if that help. Good luck!

I wear a "crushable" Stetson...yep, it got crushed alright. The brim is horribly wavy now instead of flat. Is there a hat stiffener for wool hats?
Hey there,
Is it a flat brim fedora? If so you'll need to watch our hat straightening tutorial for that video here...

Lastly, simply search for 'Kahl Hat stiffner' on Amazon. 🍻

I like fedora
hello, question, does this work on polyester hats?
Yes. This should work on almost any fabric. The more delicate the fabric...simply hold the steam a little further away from the item. 👍🏾
It came in the mail like that. I look like deputy dog in my expensive hat
Hahaha! NO hat, should ever come in the mail like that. We are sorry to hear that. Hope you can put this video to good use. 🍻
Where can I find that lavender and navy hat ?

That’s our Ferguson Fedora in Lavender. You may find it on our website. 👍🏾
My hat leather can I still use steam
Because leather is such a delicate material, if you intend to steam it, please use a VERY very low level of steam, and steam from the inside of the hat.
