Based on your analysis of bikers and helmets I might need therapy! Way back when I first started riding I wore a Shoei full face. Then at some point I switched to a soft helmet, otherwise known as a do-rag. Next I tried a 3/4 helmet which didn’t really work for me. After that I got a half helmet (which you seem to call a 1/4 helmet). It does have a 3 snap visor which I can swap out for a face shield if it rains. So there you go, I’ve worn just about every style of helmet available! 😜 The only serious crash I’ve had occurred when I was wearing the full face and I must admit that it was probably a very good thing!
You don't know what can happen when you leave the house. I select my helmet based on what I am doing that day and the weather. Ride Safe
Harley Geezer wears a beanie helmet and his mic going down the road sounds great.
My wife and I wear DOT approved beanie helmets and use the Harley mic’s that go around behind the neck.
Great topic 😎👍
That is a great way to talk to each other. Ride Safe
There’s also the no helmet riders, which I always pray stay safe.
That is a whole different type of rider. And the people in shorts. Ride Safe
It's obvious they advertise it on there jackets, tattoos, clothes. Go figure.
This is more along the lines of what style of biker are people based on their helmets. Ride Safe
You forgot the no helmet people. 😂
That is another story. Ride Safe
HDR, you forgot #5. The people that do not wear a helmet. Gary Busey did not wear a helmet until he had an accident. Then he became pro helmet however, at that point his brain was scrabbled.
Yes, it might be cool, but not really smart. Ride Safe
🤔👀Interesting Views.. In the motovlogger community.. You All Find ways to mount cameras to helmet's&Bike and work outside the box.. only Limited by Imagination ..And have the helmet they are comfortable with.. Stay Well Ride Safe Sir
Yes, it seems we all find ways to get the shot. Ride Safe
Well Geeeeeeeeeeeez. I guess I'm in a category......Heck, I like being one of the? Which one am I again Jack? Always great Jack, Thanks for being you. ... Bob
I feel you fall into the full face group which is a good thing. Ride Safe
I have a beanie helmet that I use if I am just doing a few things in town....any sort of extended ride it's full face!...great video...stay safe out there!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
I still do not own one of those. Ride Safe
I've been riding for 35 years, and i wear a DOT approved "Skull Cap" helmet most of the time. Sometimes a half helmet. I wear them because i like to feel the grain of the ride, especially when it's hot outside. I used to only wear a hat or do rag, but wanted some actual head protection. I only wear a modular when I'm riding and it's below 50° F. I don't enjoy the ride much at all with a full face helmet on. It's very hard to turn my head around, to look for cars and such. It makes riding like that uncomfortable and not enjoyable at all.
All very good points. Ride Safe
Check out Harley Geezer. He has (what looks like) a beanie skull cap helmet and still vlogs with it
I will do that. Thanks for the tip. Ride Safe
I wear a beanie helmet, always have. I don’t find one better or safer than the other. I’f your lucky enough to survive a crash it doesn’t matter what helmet you wearing they don’t stop you from getting a broken neck. Personally I hate wearing them but I won’t ride without one. It gets up to 115 degrees with 100 percent humidity down here in Louisiana you not wearing a full face long in this heat or much clothing. The hottest it gets in your area is what 85 lol
I can feel your pain with that heat. Ride Safe
No helmet required law here in CT and I'd say the majority of riders in the state don't were one. One night out to diner I was sitting where I had a view of a main road, after I started counting I saw about 20 more bikes go by. Exactly two riders were wearing helmets, one in a beanie and the other a full face.... What this means, I have no idea, but if I had to venture a guess, I'd say it would be about "level of freedom", ie: the less shit a person has on, the freer they feel.😎 Me, I 100% wear a helmet when riding but I'm always torn between a 3/4 and FF. On one hand I like the wind on my face, the weight and openness of a 3/4 but on the other hand there's the protection and ability to close out the elements of a FF. What I usually end up doing is riding with a FF and keeping visor full up and sun glasses on.
I don't know if I care as much about no helmets or the people I see riding in shorts. Drives me crazy. But Ride Your Own Ride. Ride Safe
@@HarleyDayRider .... I'm looking for "the right" road riding helmet since I got the Goldwing. I'm not in love with the Scorpion EXO I had on the Ohio trip.
Slappy wears one also Slappys adventures.😎
Good to hear. Ride Safe
What kind of mic setup do you use?
I push a wired mic on my GoPro into the full-face helmet cheek pad. Ride Safe
That's what I do but seem to get a lot of wind noise. Thanks.@@HarleyDayRider
