As a fan of the Glycerin’s for years i noticed that not all upgrades were a success. Currently i’m using the Glycerin 19’s & there ok but i’m not feeling the smoothest ride. So i’m def gonna test some other brands this year. Thx for the review

I have relatively wide feet and Brooks seem to fit me the best, for me the Glycerin 20 is the best option. Even if other shoes are "better" they fit me poorly and are useless. I'm a 5'11" 190 lifter/runner and these are perfect for easy days. Most of my days are easy because I'm slow lol.

While we’re talking about cushioned trainers here, have you guys received the ON Cloudmonster yet? I tried it on at my favorite running store while visiting San Diego and it blew me away--bought it on the spot after trying on all the usual favorite highly cushioned shoes in my long-standing search for a long run shoe (so I can stop using up my Endorphin Speeds-my race shoes- on my marathon training LR's). The guys at the store had just gotten it and were equally shocked. 8 oz for the women's version, 6 mm drop. Don’t be influenced by past reactions to other ON shoes, because this one is different and quite exciting. The wow factor was similar to when I tried the Aurora BL. Very stable and roomy toe box in addition to being very cushy and responsive. Martha

Thanks for the review, guys. I have a question i am hoping the community can help with. I am 270 lbs male who is new to running. I read this would be a good shoe for me due to my weight and wide foot. I am test driving this shoe, and it feels okay, but im also new to the nuances that I should look for. Any tips or thoughts would be helpful as to whether or not to keep these shoes or try another pair.

      @Remy84 Рік тому +2

I am heavier than you and for running shoes I’ve learned to stay far away from extra soft midsoles. Anything where you step in and they squish way too much and rock from side to side easily. At our weight we definitely need more support. I own the previous glycerins and they work great for me. I also have Skechers max road which I like and have a more supportive midsole.

🤔🤔🤔 Didn't Brooks come up with a different upper for the Glycerin 20… like a knit version? Like a stealth fit or something? From RTR's videos. Maybe that answers the blisters issue? Anyways, great review!👏🏻🔥👏🏻🔥

Not looking for race or long marathons, just for daily 10km walk plus intermittent runs. Which would you recommend? GLYCERIN 20 REGULAR, OR WITH GTS? And apart from Glycerin, which shoe? Also considering Speed 3. I could buy two pairs, if it would help. Thanks!

I would say the brooks glycerin 20’s. Or any of the glycerin models. It’s got cushion like they say but not an extreme amount. It feels supportive and bouncy. I love them, I just don’t like running in them because I prefer a more responsive shoe with not much comfort when it comes to running. Either that or the new balance 1080’s. But brooks by far is the highest quality shoe money can buy.

Stack Height: 34 mm heel / 24 mm forefoot, 10mm drop
    I have Aurora-BL too...
Trial still out, but think I'll like Stealthfit 20 more...
I got Stealthfit ( black / white ) couple days earlier...
I originally wanted Glycerin GTS 20s but didn't like colors currently available... ( want all black uppers & midsole )
GTS 20s that have Guide Rails feel softer / bit mushier than Stealthfit; which was a surprise, because I thought Guide Rails would give GTS 20 more firmness cushion wise and more support / rigidity medially & laterally ( inside / outside edges ) of shoe...
Once I tried on Stealthfit, it felt so, so good, I was sold...
Can't wait to also try Stealthfit GTS when it's available...
And Color ( Black / White Stealthfit ) Looks Really Good in person ( go to website to see actual color because it's not typical black uppers, white midsole )...
Especially Looks Good When Wearing All Black Top Long Sleeves, & Black Compression Leggings Full Length...
    Stealthfit,
    Feels like a glove...
    Perfect fit.
Not too tight, but a very comfortable glove fit...
    Feels Super light...
Stealthfit is stretchy knit-type upper that hugs your foot and is a single tongue-less piece of material...
Wider feet may not like fit..
I had custom insole, max cushion made...
The shoe felt great without adding custom made insoles...
I just like added cushion & support...
Outsole / Midsole is wider & feels very stable...
Traction of Outsole is Very Good / Grippy / Sticky...
I've never had a shoe that feels bouncy / springy...
    Stealthfit feels bouncy / springy...
I guess that's what they call Energy / Response Return...
I'll try Glycerin 20 GTS try again when black uppers & white midsole comes out... ( Preferably want all black : Uppers & Midsole )
I've been using Adrenaline GTS 21, 22 lately & enjoy those very much with 22s feeling better than 21...
I'm also interested in seeing new Beast with DNA LOFT V3...
    Adrenaline With DNA LOFT V3
    Ghost With DNA LOFT V3

      Also
I have custom made insoles for all my running / trail shoes & even some of my clip in cycling shoes...
I Love the added support & addition cushion...
And it helps eliminate Plantar Fascitis which I used to get often before...
One of primary reasons I've continued using Brooks is because of the higher heel drops & fact that I've never gotten Plantar Fascitis with Brooks...
All the other models I have gotten Plantar Fascitis when doing high mileage for several months...
Hokas specifically feel great at start ( Very High Stack Heights ) but the low Heel-to-Toe drops seem to be what eventually causes me to get Plantar Fascitis & it comes on slowly so don't notice it until it's a problem & then there'd down time to recover...
There's Nothing wrong with Hoka Brand...
Lots of runners use Hokas for ultra marathons: 50, 65, 100, 150 mile races through some of most challenging road & technical trails...
And that's what persuaded me to try Hokas & I spent 1000s loading up on & trying possibly 7 to 10 of their different models...
But in the end results were same...
They "Always" felt good in beginning but I'd develop Plantar Fascitis...

You may want to try Hokas:
Bondi 7 or later when it comes out...
It's one of there more popular brands for stability even It's considered a neutral shoe...
      From Hoka's site:
THE ULTRA-CUSHIONED GAME-CHANGER The most cushioned HOKA road shoe available, the Bondi 7 delivers a smooth and balanced ride. Engineered with the same full EVA midsole, breathable mesh upper and signature Meta-Rocker technology as its predecessor, the Bondi 7 is updated with a plush collar designed to accommodate a narrower heel - and conform to a wide variety of ankles.
      Stability
Designed to provide the support you want and nothing you don't.
      It's also approved by:

If you purchase from a reputable shoe store you should get 60-90 days return policy where you can get full refund or full credit towards something else...
