Dragon’s Dogma is a single player, narrative driven action-RPG series that challenges the players to choose their own experience - from the appearance of their Arisen, their vocation, their party, how to approach different situations and more. On your journey, you’ll be joined by Pawns, mysterious otherworldly beings, in an adventure so unique you will feel as if accompanied by other players while on your own adventure.
All of these elements are elevated further through physics technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and the latest in graphics, to create a truly immersive fantasy world in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Wield swords, bows, and chant magick. The vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2 give you the ability to approach combat the way you want.
Players can customize their own main Pawn, who will always accompany your Arisen, and enter a covenant with up to 2 additional Pawns from other players through the network.
Beyond the town borders, you will encounter diverse monsters that inhabit the lands. You will need to decide between engaging in battles or finding alternatives; so be aware of your party’s setup, the terrain around you, and the monsters you face.
Travelers, merchants, soldiers and other folk go about their daily lives.
Preoccupied by their own objectives and motives, they all exhibit different emotions. At times, they may lead you to a quest by approaching you and asking for a favor.

A lot of folks have pointed out the Ring of Requital being fantastic here. Was unaware of its existence till now but it provides 15% strength after a deflect. This is essentially a best in slot ring for fighter's playstyle.
There's a great set of mods on nexus that adjust a lot about ng+ to give it a true hard mode feel as well as crazy encounters in areas.
Biggest disagree on Cloudward Slash. It is NOT just for dealing with harpies. You can use it to hit the heads of Ogres, Cylops, Minotaurs, Dragons, the Goat head of a Chimera. It does good damage and good stagger. There are better choices for sure, but that move is not trash!
It’s great vs small enemies. The skill has good knock down with fast animation. You can dunk on a goblin and follow up with an execute when they are knock down. It’s the better trash mob killer imo since the animation is faster.
@@Aliens1337no dude, use a maxed knockdown power mace with that skill and hit the head of monsters multiple times and you’ll get a knockdown 💯 of the time

I love the standing and jogging animation Fighter has. Looks so badass.
A wayfarer with Shield Drum, Vengeful Slash, and Aromatic Rally are my tank fantasy.
A frontline commander who buff the entire party and become the enemies center of attention, probably with Warrior, Mage, and Archer as a team. Sounds fun

Man I love these videos. I’m barely trying out every other class other than sorcerer and thief!
100 plus hours in the game and I waited last to level warrior and fighter, due to me being distracted by the cool guy sexy classes.. with saying that, fighter has got be my close favorite class, warrior maybe slightly edging it, barely. You couldn’t have said it better with.. "there something about being the shield guy” As always appreciate your calibrated eye when it comes to gameplay and commentary
a note for those that do not know, Burst striking into Shield pummel is almost always a guaranteed knockdown for all "small" enemies in the game. I find that it's a very fun and powerful combo for guaranteed executions
Fighter is what i settled on. I like the flow and the frontline feel. Pairs well with my Warrior Pawn
I countered a whole meteor from a Drake with that skill, its so busted.
What are the best Skills to slot for a Tank Fighter Main Pawn. I noticed all the parry related skills are not utilized well by the AI. Any recommendations which ones the pawn makes best use of?
So best armour, looks and feels badass. Unkillable and does a lot of damage. Sure sounds S tier to me along with thief and magick archer. Then Warrior, Sorcerer, Mystic Spearhand in A. Mage, Archer and Warfarer in B then trickster at the bottom

There's a ring you can get that increases your damage right after a good or perfect block. I don't know the exact stats on the increase but I go from three shoting goblins to one shoting them. And the buff the ring gives last for about 30 seconds I'd say
Ohh haven't found that one but that would be clutch.
I will say gutting skewer falls pretty far behind scarlet kisses while climbing but a crazy combo is hindsight slash into a tusk toss into riotous fury it melts and is some of the highest dps in game challenging even thief the problem is its not consistent at all for the average player.
But yeah just wanted to drop that combo for anyone that might want to try it.
Btw I'm not saying anything is wrong with gutting I was just responding to the comparison cowboy had made.
Plus alot of people don't even know that you can use scarlet kisses while climbing and I mean actually holding on not standing on the back of a monster
Really need the game to be harder, especially end game and new game plus. Hopefully they add it soon as.
Especially dragons they need to hit much harder due to the massive survivability we have

Great guide as always, CB. I noticed some of the later game gear has protection from mute. I've never actually been muted as a fighter but doe mute affect your skills in some way? Why would it be on fighter gear if fighters don't cast spells?
It's silence gear, and tbh I'm not sure why we have it. I know it shuts down spells but I don't believe it stops abilities

The Ring of Requital is a great choice as well if you like to parry

Fighter is the only vocation that I’d switch off of warfarer to play as, it feels like it needs all 4 skill slots and riotous fury, despite that it’s still my favorite
im the opposite i play fighter with no skills on warfarer

How does knockdown res work? Because the stat doesn’t add up to the gear stats. Which to me it should.
I am on my second playthrough in New game plus. Trying to get Soldiers code and I have max affinity and did the escourt quest to the statue and have the vocation unlocked. I still can't get him to drop this. I also checked Ibrams Shop it's not there either. Might have to start a new game just to get this achievement for all meister skills.
Loved leveling the fighter, but the warrior is something else

I have to disagree with your take on cloudward slash. It is amazing when it comes to hitting the weak points on bosses.
It has a low stam cost and you can keep spamming it on chimera goat head, casting drake heart, ogre head etc. It is really good if you have a lot of knock down power because they will keep getting staggered and/or stop casting spells.
On the other hand I don't see much point in using Gutting Skewer, it is good at killing fodder but so is every other damaging skill. The climbing utility could be useful but Fighters don't really get much value out of climbing.
I agree. Cloudward slash isn’t “trash”. It’s also not just for harpies either lol. Surprised shield pummel gets priority over cloudward slash
Shield pummel does stylish cliff yeets for me and gogue gets a special place cause im an assassin fan boy. Cloudward just felt meh, tho tbh I havent tried it on this particular setup, just when i was leveling fighter
tusk toss does basically the same thing but with no stamina cost or skill slot
I think fighter when in the right hands could be incredibly potent… the style you have to play with it is incredibly tactical and defense first though….
i feel like this series would benefit if when you were going over each skill you briefly explained why or why not to assign said skill to said vocation if it is on a pawn, as I feel pawns have issues with certain weapon skills ie; counter skills, skills like spell hold, the launching skills (just trying to do it too much or do it to non melee players), skills that require too much timing or battle sense due to charge times like warriors maister skill (most of the time if i have a pawn with that skill they only use it when the big enemies are fully downed and usually are on their last 1-3 health bars and by the time they start charging to then release usually the monster is dead lol), and there's a few others. Some of this is prob p common sense or easily inferable but also I feel like a lot of DD stuff should be easily inferable but goes over ppls heads lol, also it'd just be nice to have someone be thoroughly testing the validity of each skill for a pawn rather than random player accounts and what I've personally gathered as my pawn is fully maxed
Fighter is a lot of fun. Warrior just does a lot more damage and is the best at knockdowns.
Sword and Shield, a classic RPG weapon/gear combination. This is no different in Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen and 2.
Fighter's a fun vocation to play, but I'd like fighter even more if they kept Full Moon Slash as it was in DD1. Shieldless fighter was possible in DD1 because FMS was a potent evasion ability

Shieldless fighter is still very viable, Hindsight Slash would be your go-to. It’s a counter that works without the shield

I did not know you can raise visors? Lol is that for like bandit handkerchiefs as well?
No just helmets that have the option such as the gryphic helmet iron helmet fiendish helmet ect. Not all of them have the option but some of them do.
Handkerchiefs are not counted as head gear and more as a mask so they won’t have this option.
Yes you can wear a helmet and one of these at the same time.

It's been said, but cloudward is a must for fighter, if you don't have it, every moment a head dips into slapping distance you'll be wondering why the fuck you don't. It's fighter's answer to heavenward sunder. Also vengeful is really nice, but you can't actually counter knockdown damage. So Cyclops slams, drake body slams. Just do the turtle spin.
Even new game from level 1, hard mode would be fun
Quick question how do you generate half your stamina bar when it’s almost finieshed?
Mage has celestial paena or whatever it's called which is an insane stamina buff.

I respect your experience but i think you're underrating cloudward slash a bit. It's really solid damage output on weakspots like gryphons and cyclops and its so quick and easy to use you can throw it in. and you mentioned the usefulness against flying foes, i know its not your job but it helps a lot with frustrating situations when you cant quite get em

Gotta say I disagree with cloudward slash being “trash”, it is VERY potent to use on chimeras/ ogres/ and cyclopses as its reach is the perfect height to damage those enemies critical spots. (Cyclopses only when their on their butts) Besides that though great video as always cowboy!
You can also just jump before you use it for ground level enemies, it is very good. Headshots skeleton’s and shit
