As some have pointed out you CAN spellhold the ultimates if you have High Spellhold. Just did some testing with it. Best use-case I see is being able to fire off 2 ultimates in a row although this will completely gas your stamina. Not sure I'd personally sacrifice a 4th spell just to be able to double up but it is possible.
I wonder if you would have enough time to cast the the ult stored in spellhold and a second ult while under the effect of Celestial Paen. If so then you wouldn’t gas your stam that way. Could be worth. Not sure though.
Augural flare into maelstrom casted from high spell hold deletes big enemies. High Levin to spam on trash mobs. It is a powerful setup. Of course, the drawback is not having elemental versatility.
@@Dr4gon785Good setup, but so many trash, that it gets real boring to always use levin on them, so I ditched my ultimates and use levin frigor salamander and augular for bosses
If you visit the dragonforged post game and pay wrymslife crystals to improve a spell you can cast back to back maelstrom or meteoron and still have an eighth leftover. Eat meat at a campfire first and you can even sandwich in a augural flare. Totally unnecessary, but fun.
Dont sleep on the skill that stores an extra spell in your staff, theres a combo that is broken esp for the "end game area" where those bosses have more hp. You can cast flare, mash the auto atk, then right before flare goes off, cast the instant flare stored in the staff, and mash the auto atk again and watch fireworks go off and 1 shot bosses. It like having 2 flares on the boss at the same time or extending the duration of the flare before going off, allowing an even higher amplification dmg multiplier for an even bigger explosion.
I did a 4 sorcerer party for a while and it was really fun. Challenging without a mage to heal, but man all the spells going off all the time was amazing.
you can just use a consumable or have your mage cleanse silence, ring of recitation is a must have if you’re using the maister skills, greatly reduces cast time at the cost of HP. Super worth imo

Thank you so much for putting this out I have waited to play the game at all until you put out a sorcerer guide. Thank you for all your time and hard work
There is a ring called the ring of recitation that reduces the casting time of ults by 5 seconds. You can pair that with the ring of articulacy to reduce it by 7 but I don’t think the pair of them are worth it when silence immunity is more important.
My job as MA is to make sure Bosses don't cast anything and the hired Fighter tank Pawn is amazing, so I don't worry about Silence. Vitality Augment gives Sorc +200 Max Health that is not reduced by the Ring of Recitation. I've hired a Mage Pawn who has TWO Rings of Recitation; she casts High Levin before anyone else has a chance to cast anything.
You should have seen the first game upon release on ps3, the framerate would literally get down to 8fps when a few spells would go off (however it didn't stop me from putting a thousand hours into it lol its one of my all time favorite games)
I finished most of the game as sorcerer and levin was the only skill that never left my bar-basically the bread and butter for me. So reliably and fast in just about all circumstances. Thundermine is a close second since it allows you so many more windows to cast your ultimates. For the ultimates, I vastly prefered maelstrom over meteoron myself-I blame the fact that I took meteoron to fight the dragon on dragonsbreath tower and the game wouldnt let me use it. Eventhough I was fighting on the roof, the game still considered it an 'indoor' location for some reason. It can also clip on nearby cliffs and stuff. Maelstrom on the other hand is very accurate and reliable. That said, I can't argue with the sheer oomph and class fantasy of meteoron . I often brought it as my fourth pick regardless, just because its fun. The only one I didn't like was salamander. For what should be an aoe spell, the cone is just way too narrow imo. Finally two minor things: Firstly, I wanted to give a shoutout to the ring that speeds up incantations in exchange for max health, makes a difference if you like meteoron or maelstrom. I just carried the anti silence ring in my inventory instead. Secondly, I think the archer's endurance augment (150 extra max stamina) worked out better than warfarers zeal augment (5% discount of stamina cost)
@@FightinCowboy True. With all the other sorc skills most definitely could swap it out if it you don’t mind the cast time. Honestly I was using it a lot early on when I found out you can spellhold it but with a fighter or warrior pawn with max aggro I have felt it’s more niche.
I'd drop Zeal (only 5% stamina) in favor of Voracity (10% stamina on each kill) It's genuinely night and day at how much it makes a difference. It can even prevent you from getting winded when you over cast your spells.
I ran fighter, then theif and then wayfarer. Maxed those 3 and used wayfarer to get the others at 7. I am still endgame farming amd about level 75. My next playthrough will be sorcerer with a thief pawn. She's about level 80 because of Medusa bow. She is a archer now. Then my other pawns with be another theif and a mage. I feel like that is going to completely change the dynamic of my next playthrough. Appreciate the video! I will be coming back to this.
I personally like maxing out mage as well cause exaltation is stamina recovery. So far in my playthrough it's like the chloranthy ring of Dragon's Dogma and I honestly think it's good for sorcerer and I don't have to wait as long for my stamina to come back. It's good for most vocations, not sure for Trickster cause for the most part I'm just standing there keeping up my decoy and making illusions to keep enemies off my sorcerers. The buff from Trickster is actually really strong, but it helps to have a mage cause that buff drains HP from the pawns. Trickster I'm pretty sure is immune to buffs, invigorates like celerity is helpful so it can heal the decoy without getting hit. I'm just waking up and I forgot about mage's ultimate which idk how to get, idk where the trainer is or who it is. I've tried watching guides, but they lie about showing the mage part and only show sorcerer's quests
I noticed that the last couple vids you included CC skills as part of your core. Given how strong characters are late game do you think it is warranted over just going for big damage?
High Decanter was such a wasted opportunity for balance testing and actually seems a little half-baked: 1. Its FX and icon make it appear as though it is the rare Holy damage type, however it clearly is not, and is not even Physical damage either, just seemingly very low amounts of neutral Magick damage. It will always "work", but it never "works" especially well. 2. It is very easy to aim, is fire-and-forget and indefinitely so long as you maintain line of sight, the enemy doesn't go too far, and you aren't staggered out of it, and it ticks at a moderately fast rate so a well-placed Decanter can contribute to Flare charging without worrying about where your shots are going to actually hit, all for next to no Stamina cost. Unfortunately this is at the cost of the spell itself doing next to no damage on any enemy that isn't one of the starting zone trash mobs, you get no additional defensive or stagger res benefit for rooting yourself in place, and you're not doing literally anything else a Sorcerer is capable of doing that will contribute significantly greater output. Perhaps if Decanter was Holy damage, or if its over-healing created a damage shield on your or spilled out to your team, or if its healing was capable of very slowly recovering the Loss Gauge, it would have a place.
With no friendly fire damage, no hard mode, and how easy it is to stun lock most enemies, all you need is a Fighter who is a proper tank, and a Sorc with High Levin, Augural Flare and the two Meister Skills AND two speed casting Rings (Recitation & Articularity). The tank can almost always hold enemy attention for the short time it takes the Sorc to cast. My Sorc has the weaker Lion-Lord’s Archistaff and kills Bosses faster than in the video due to the Rings and not bothering with anything except maximum damage.
