- Introducing a "Topper Gel" to be used with other botanical based, water soluble gels for styling the Hydrate & Define, a.k.a. Wash and Go hairstyle.
ENBBA stands for Embrace Natural Beauty By Abena. ENBBA Naturals is a line of water-soluble hair care products specifically designed to hydrate and define tight curls. While products for ENBBA Naturals have been in development and testing at Embrace Natural Beauty Salon since 2020, one styling gel has emerged as a winner to address some of the concerns presented by my clientele. Maintaining curl definition during high humid climates was the highest priority.

Today, I've been testing it with several gels, and it's worked with each one. 🙂 I remember praying a year or so ago, with a bit of frustration, that there HAS to exist a product somewhere in the world that can define tight curls, reduce frizz and provide hold without being hard. ('We can put a man on the moon, but we can't...' I was THAT kind of frustrated.) I'm late to the Enbba party, and only purchased it because I recall how much you had helped me in my curl journey years ago with your tutorials. I was making a "support purchase" but had no idea how much I would appreciate this product! This is the best natural hair styling product I have ever tried and I have been natural for over ten years I can’t think of one product that has come close to this in any way shape or form up until I found enbba naturals I was still spending money on products that never worked I will happily spend every single penny on this gel it is worth it trust me I am high porosity extremely dry breakage prone thin natural 4a/b ( for visual reference) surface texture is matte and honestly feels bumpy and rough but enbba naturals makes my hair look and feel moisturized shiny frizz free defined elongated and magical!!!! I can finally go more than 3 days of a wash and go, which has never happened for me before!!!! Congratulations on the perfect gel Abena! I've watched you for years and just didn't think I would ever achieve such great wash n goes that I see on your channel. I'm a wash n go girlie, but I knew mine weren't at the best potential. So I ordered your gel, and WOW. I tried the combination you suggested and finally I had a strong hold wash n go that wasn't so darn sticky from the UFD. My wash n goes have always been so sticky that I. hated touching my hair. But I have finally figured out the right ratio of UFD to use to get great results. And your new gel as a topper is perfection. I ordered the small bottle, but I'm going to order the larger (even though expensive). Wow! Congratulations to you ❤🎉🎉! I saw this gel before but never bothered to check it out. Saw it again with you using CurlMix & your gel & ordered this gel immediately. I am a CurlMixer but 6 mos ago I lightened my hair (blonde) and stylist started silk pressing my hair.. So now I have heat damage & I’m understanding I have to start over to get my curl pattern back. I’ve cut off all the straight ends which now looks like a TWA…I want my hair back. Can’t wait for my ENBBA Naturals

I’m back again. I just finished doing my hair. I sat under the dryer for 30 minutes. I’ll diffuse it before I go to bed. So far I am absolutely Loving your topper gel. I just followed your video and applied as you did and I did not add any extra water. I love the hold, not hard or crunchy. My kinda WNG. It is soft, defined, elongated and shiny. Can’t wait see how it fairs in this Florida heat. Also I didn’t use much, about a nickel to a quarter size depending on how large my section was. My fav, your instructions to smooth and rake in an horizontal position. I parted with my fingers in a vertical way, when I tell you this was a game changer!!!! 👏🏾 👏🏾 Thank you. Thank you. It really allowed for me to do the crown of my head easier and it fell like I wanted it to. 😘

Thank you! On typical wash day I take my time in between Part 1Cleanse Condition and Detangling and Part 2 Styling. Because I style my hair outside of the shower, I get dressed, I may have a bite to eat and then I style my hair. If I am rushed I will do the styling immediately after getting dressed. Oh I just realized you asked me if my hair was still wet or damp, lol.
Yes, my hair is still just as wet as it was an hour and 15 minutes prior to stepping out of the shower. UFD Curly Magic does a fantastic job of holding onto all of that moisture.
Yay! Got my gel today 8/19/23 Saturday. Trying to figure out if I’m going to top my CurlMix Ultra Master Collection/Uncle Funkys Daughter Curly Magic & ICH or Big Poppa gel & the Doux Mousse Def.
Thank you for sharing Abena. I just ordered your gel and have used it three times on top of I create hold as my first topper and Uncle Funky's Daughter as my base. Like others, the humidity has been high and the weather is hot in NC. I shampoo my hair ever week and while my other Wash and Go's may last 3 - 4 days, this combination last the entire week. I ordered. I received quite quickly without incident. I have not had the chance to do a wash n go yet, but I did put some on my fuzzy egged. It laid them wavy and so naturally, and they are holding down for some days now. Not crispy or sticky. When I do a wng, it should be bomb diggity.
I am journaling here: did wng today. Used a little KC Knot Today, I Create Hold and the Enbba. Very good wng. There is a good cast, but t not worry and I can tell that it’s holding moisture. I will come back tomorrow for notes on 2nd day hair.
Journal entry: I have paired this product with two products that will flake on their own and I have seen no flaking. Yes, I have redone my hair 3 times in about a week-because I am proving to myself that it is the answer.

I totally agree so many stylists say gray hair is the same for naturals but I find my hair along with others disagree. It can be very challenging but beautiful with the correct techniques and products….

Hi, as a licensed cosmetologist who works with fine hair I assure you that you do not need oil on your hair to combat hygral fatigue during styling with a gel. And if you are using oil prior to cleansing your hair you are giving your shampoo more work to do. You would benefit from working with a Tight Curl Specialist to help you understand what your hair needs in order to be well maintained. Have you heard of Black Girl Curls?

Hi❤ if black girl curls are the ladies saying no oil or butters, then yes Ive heard about them. But I could not find a black girl curls video on preventing hygral fatigue. This is my second time going natural. And my 2nd time getting hygral fatigue.
My natural hair strands not thick but this as far as hair diameter. I don't sleep in conditioner. And I only deep condition 10-15 minutes. Any help I would greatly appreciate. As a Curl Specialist, I have been part of the conversation for the past several weeks. I’ve had the conversation in the salon with a few clients. And I over the phone with people up close and personal to the situation. Most conversations I’ve had were pro/in favor of curly cuts. I even conducted a conversation via live broadcast on Instagram. My audience did not have many concerns on the topic. Since you bring the topic up, where do you stand as a relates to Curly Cuts?

Would this gel work well with the Nurture Haircare brand gel? Or what about something like a homemade flaxseed based gel?
Hi Shae, I must admit I have some nurture but it's been so long since I've used it I imagine it may not be good for me to try it. However, I did style my hair with CurlMix Medium Hold Flaxseed Gel as my base and the ENBBA Naturals Styling Gel on top. I absolutely LOVED the results. So I recommend trying both combinations for yourself.

Did your hair dry a bit in the hour and 30 minutes between your uncle funkys application and your application of ICH and the Enbba Naturals gel? I didn’t see you re-wet your hair and I’m wondering if you applied your topper gels on damp hair
I always apply the first layer of product on soaking wet hair. It holds the moisture well. My hair remained moist for the application of the topper gels. I did not re-wet my hair.

Thank you! Nothing is absolutely necessary. What I am sharing with you are combinations I use in the salon that have proven results. On the next video I will share a combination using only two gels, the ENBBA Naturals styling gel as the topper with the other gel as the base. I know of at least two customers who are styling their washngo with the ENBBA Naturals Styling Gel only. They are happy with their results.

Question, what is the purpose of using the shampoo brush in the styling phase?
I began using it nearly two years ago after my mini-big chop. Have been using it ever since. I have grown accustom to the routine. It helps to smooth the hair.

Is there any preservative in Enbba? Can it cause fruit flies or spoil if not refrigerated?
Yes the gel has preservatives. No refrigeration necessary. Now it ships with a pump so there is very little exposure to air when not in use which keeps the shelf life at 12 months minimum.
