    Kratos' "apology" is the truest communication of how he is now. He acts how he thinks is best in the moment, always owning his actions and never looking back, but he's growing to understand that just because he *can* doesn't mean he should.

      @@ryanberwick5183 I personally just disagree with the whole nature of this plot point. Kratos had two choices: Save her from patricide (The right choice) or Condone it by allowing it to happen. What would that have taught Atreus if he just allowed her to get murdered?

      expect he died because he's a man and she didn't because she's a woman
      literally she deserved the same thing that odin did, she did the same thing odin did to his sons that she did to baldur. disgusting that she doesnt even see that, she really thinks she has the right to say ok if u want to kill me kill me, no she doesn't even deserve that she deserves to die with the same conviction and everything. a father loves his children equal to a mother he just doesn't need to show it for views.
      everything is to educate us to hate each other, women hating the men they use their things of like homes and cars as if they're owed for the suffering they went thru. that's like cashing it in so they can no longer talk shit but they do for years and years after.
      what's crazy is everyone who odin did something to has the right to hate odin but not freya, nobody else chose him but she chose him. ur supposed to investigate the person ur going to be w/ & she chose him she wasn't a friend or a victim she chose him. nobody needs to change for anyone, we need to change how we pick oeople.

    • @Takintomori
      @Takintomori Рік тому +77

      @cesarreyes6655 you clearly missed the entire point of her arc. Odin did it because he wanted immortal soldiers who would serve him into death and beyond. She did it because she didn't her son to suffer for eternity at the hands if his father. She had the right intentions, but the execution was wrong.
      She also didn't choose Odin, she was married off to him as part of a treaty to stop him from killing all her people. While not an everyday occurrence, it happened frequently during history. Hell, arranged marriages still happen in some parts of the world

    • @odinwarlock2436
      @odinwarlock2436 Рік тому +39

      @cesarreyes6655 The key difference is that Odin never stopped. Odin never tried to do better, and Odin never realized his mistakes. Freya did. You blatantly miss the entire point of her character arc.
      Odin very clearly did not love his kids. He kills Thor with 0 hesitation. It's not a case of 'men don't need to show emotion because of emotion gay'. Odin literally does not love his kids.
      Your next paragraph is a non point that hinges on an untrue assumption about how the relationship between men and women works. Lots of women are the ones who work in the family, and lots of women love their husbands/ wives. They don't hate you or want your money. Women aren't a hive mind, and it does not apply to god of war. Freya is a God, a warrior who, on her own merit, is a powerful mage, commander, and queen. Her marriage to Odin was a sacrifice to stop the war. She gave all that up for peace she didn't choose Odin. That is a blatant lie. Of course, she wouldn't like Odin. According to Mimir, she does start to like him until he betrays her and curses her.
      Again, Freya didn't choose Odin.

    I believe part of Freya's grieving process is realizing that the son she loves so much, was simply a tool for Odin to have what he wants, and was never a son for her to love. For all we know, he could've lied to her and made her paranoid that Baldur could be killed, so that she can put that spell on him, giving Odin an un-killable tracking dog, to complete his mafia line-up of children for his cause, and his cause alone.

    Freya had such a fantastic character arc across these two games. From the kindly witch of the woods who nursed Atreus back to health, to grieving mother, to formidable warrior. She was done so well. The scene where she and Kratos unite again was so powerful and moving, and so true to her character. She was angry and grief stricken for the loss of her son, but also no doubt conflicted as Kratos had also saved her life. Even when it comes down to it, she can't kill in cold blood or even for vengeance. It's just not in her nature as portrayed in these games. Her kindness and compassion shine through. She was absolutely amazingly well written and I adored every moment she was on screen.

But refusing to defend yourself has to result in a fail-sate, meaning you miss the games story which means you miss all of the character development.

      It’s one of the coolest parts of the end game, imo. All the conversations and banter between Kratos, Freya and Mimir are great. Not to mention when you go to Muspelheim to do the trials, you’re charging in there as Kratos accompanied by Freya in her Valkyrie form.

    "No need to explain. Not to me. Not for that."
    Those are the exact words Freya spoke to Kratos when Atreus was sick, and he apologized for mistrusting her. He took them to heart.

    7:27 I love how the roles are reversed and as Freya was about to apologize, Kratos said the exact same thing, Freya said in the prequel, when he was about to apologize for being rude to her, after finding out that she was a God.
    "No need to explain. Not to me. Not for that."
    It's the beginning of them starting over again🖤❤💒. Kratos and Freya is definitely going to be my new favorite couple 🙌🙌. If you think about it, it makes sense. Freya was literally the only God (well Goddess) that actually helped him and didn't have to manipulate him to do it. I knew from the moment Freya saved Atreus, that they were going to click like seatbelts. If that was Athena or anybody else, they would have let Atreus die and told him to "have faith." Remember, Kratos is a Spartan and if the Gods of Olympus had kept their promise, never betrayed him, and showed him respect, he would have actually had no problem working with them💯. So when Freya did something serious like that, there was no question about it. It's actually a beautiful story, a man who spent his entire life despising Gods, is building a chemistry to settle down with one. Opposites but very similar indeed🙌🙌🙌💙
    Also that particular quote is something I can imagine Joel saying to Ellie had he gotten the chance in Last Of Us 2 @ 7:55
