I love when you mentioned being against speaking badly about your husband. This is something I've thought about, I will never marry a man whose friends disrespect women (men who make jokes about women staying in the kitchen etc). I also wont have friends who do that with their husbands.I want a mature man who keeps our problems between us unless we get a marriage counselor where we have a safe place to share our relationship problems.

I was raised going to church and was a believer up until high school when I fell away. My husband and I got married and we had a secular wedding. Over the last year I have come back to Jesus, we also have a 4yo son. I pray for my husband every day that he would open his heart to Truth. And I tell him about the word almost daily. We still have a great relationship but it has made things awkward now that we have different worldviews (when it comes to spirituality/religion). But I keep thinking of 1 Corinthians 13-16 which says to stay with your non-believing spouse so that they will be made righteous through you, and our child too. I am glad that he has been open-minded and hasn't shunned me or lashed out in any way. And we still have a great relationship regardless of our religious views.

I’m in a very similar boat as you. I was a very “distant” believer I guess you could say until the age of 27 when I was born again. And by that time I already was married and had 3 kids. My husband has never shunned me for it but he definitely isn’t on the same page. We go to church (sometimes which I need to be better about) and he will read the Bible and pray with me when I ask him to. We have a great relationship now as well but having Jesus in the center of it (with both of us consciously trying for that) would bring everything to a different level with our relationship and our family I believe.

This was so good ✨🙏🏽 I’m single but desire to be married and one aspect was submitting… I actually look forward to that. I’ve always had to make decisions and figure everything out so I look forward to having a covering and my future husband being the leader and main decision maker. Another aspect I need to work on is praying for my future husband, whom I haven’t confirmed…so sometimes it’s hard because you don’t know the person yet…It’s a huge responsibility and as his future helpmeet, I pray the Lord develops me more. 🙏🏽

Regarding the last point: is your husband really loving you if he always asks you to do something he knows you hate? I want to travel the world, but my husband HATES flying on planes. I don’t think I would be loving him well if I asked him to get over that and do it anyway because I find travel enjoyable. Instead, I find driveable trips for us and travel with friends. I would only ask him to fly on a plane if there’s a REAL emergency: if my mom who lives out state gets ill or passes or something like that. I don’t think it’s loving your spouse well to ask for something you know they hate. I think it’s selfish.

I definitely needed to hear this message right now. My husband is Canadian, I’m American. I moved to Canada for him, lived there for 5 years, but was ready to be w/ my family in Florida. The obsessive lockdowns for two years and the vaccine passport stuff heightened my emotions. I told him I wanted to leave immediately, and go back home. He expressed that he was not comfortable w/ moving at all. I told him that I was moving to Florida, whether he was coming w/ me or not. So he moved here against his will and I’m paying the price for it.
We’ve been fighting so much. (We almost never fight) Ever since our first month here, he’s been saying we need to go back. I thought it was just because he isn’t working. I kept reminding him that it may take a few months or a year, but he will get his work permit. But recently he told me that even when he gets his work permit, he will still not like living here.
That’s when I realized I haven’t been listening to him at all. We had a real discussion about what are plans are if we stay here, or what are plans are if we move back to Ontario.
It’s just hard because I’m so close w/ my family, and my in-laws are very uninvolved in my husband’s life. So as beautiful as Canada is, I felt like I had no community there.
Been praying to God to just lead us wherever we are meant to be at this point.

Hi Nastasia!! Have you ever read of the book love and respect by Emerson eggerichs? If not, it’s an amazing Christian read that has the best message!! Basically as women we need love the most, and men need respect the most. And the author shows the biblical basis for this. I’m reading in pre-marital counseling and our pastor had us read this. We are getting married this Saturday!!! Thank you for the timeliness of the video 💗

are these qualities I should seek for in a woman as a non-religious man?

    • @terry9238
      @terry9238 Рік тому

Good luck! It’s mostly fundamentalist religious belief systems that pressure women to follow rules like this. And those same belief systems also lay many obligations and restrictions upon MEN. So you’re not likely to find such a woman who will marry you unless you join, and practice, that kind of religion. Then you can find a woman of the same religion.

My husband and I just celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary on May 23rd. I love and respect my husband, but he is backsliding. I know he knows the Lord, but he isn’t where he needs to be with God. It’s not like it was when we first got married, or when we were dating.
I am trying to be the best godly wife I can be. I pray for him daily, and I don’t want Satan to destroy my marriage. I want Jesus to be at the center. I know that the Lord will reward me for following what the Bible says.

Hi Bethany! I would encourage you to shift your focus off what you perceive to be your husbands shortcomings & onto yourself and your own walk with the Lord. It’s really easy for us to point out the shortcomings in our husbands but oftentimes we do this (either knowingly or unknowingly) to avoid looking at our own faults.

Single women spend more TIME with God, so why aren’t YOU taking notes from them instead of dishing them out.
What makes YOU the example. Because wives think THEY are the wise ones, but they’re too BUSY having sex and a showing off to serve as much as single women. Then they want to pity single women are belittle their feelings saying ‘you GET 🙄 to SpEnD MoRe tiMe wiTh God’ - well then TREAT them like that

Basically ANOTHER married woman showing off about her life pretending that she has the authority to LECTURE single women.
Leave single women ALONE - you don’t KNOW if they will EVER get married. You’re just giving false hope so you can lecture and feel wise and talk about YOUR privilege.
