Tess (Therese Eghult) and Jill (@gumleaf_crochet) had Sweden meet Australia and together they created this wonderful crochet design; shaping every other round whilst having a blast and many many late night laughs between two friends sitting on the opposite side of the world from one another.

Hi, just giving my own tip here about round 10 - I did back-loop slip stitches to get over the other corners... and in the next round I crocheted over both round (round 9 + slip stitches), it looked great, imho :)

@@SistersInStitch I didn't like how my colors looked like with the regular one you showed us in the vid and I was too lazy to do all the weaving of ends, so I had to come up with another idea (beside just pulling the yarn/string between two corners and crochet over it in the next round, kinda like you do when you need to switch colors fast)
btw. going to make my own diary/sketchbook and will sew this one on its cover, then dust it with bronze mica powder, so it will look like those really old books :)

I am in love with this pattern!!!! Only thing was I changed from 10 to 9 by skipping the hidden stitch in second to last row. I had to make it even lol it was driving me crazy. Thank you for sharing this with us!!!

Hi I'm Cindy from Montana. I just learned about the granny square thingy going on and came across your patterns they are so pretty and soft looking. Is the yarn your using Catona? I have some but it looks so hard and stuff what I have, also I'm learning to getting in to making afghans and squares with the real thin yarns. I'm old fashion using the #4 yarns. I’m so happy to have you here and hope you will have lots of crochet fun. ♥️ For this series (The What were you thinking squares) we want them all to be able to match up so we are using the Must-have yarn from the brand Yarn and Colors, a mercerized cotton in fine/sport weight. It’s quite similar too Catona, just a little bit stiffer which gives great texture to the finished piece. But you can use almost any kind and weight of yarn for these, so choose what makes your heart sing and have fun with it. 💛👌 We are currently working on not one but two new squares for this series so more square adventures awaits.. 😃
