A little pattern note: apparently I was a bit tiered after the last round. You should end up with 52 double crochets per side (!) and not 53 as I say in the tutorial. 😇 Wish you lots of fun! All the best, Tess
You are so kind to share a video tutorial for free here. Thank you so much. Purchased my biggest yarn stash ever just now to make a blanket out of these squares. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Thank you again so very much. Love from Germany

I have only been crocheting for two weeks. After lots of little practice squares with the different crochet patterns I decided to give your video a try. I have very LOW expectations of being able to follow along as a beginner… BUT omg I did it! I watched you on half speed, did lots of rewinding but completed my (one color white) square today after about 5 days on a trip to Maine. Thank you so much. Your teaching skills are incredible and I am now addicted to crocheting. thumbs up, subscribed and notifications on….. fan for life.
I made mine along with the video and for whatever reason, I thought it would turn out about half the size, but mine is huge. It could be a sofa pillow! I think she’s using a lower weight yarn and smaller hook, but even as big as mine is, I’m super happy with how it turned out. My sister wants it for Christmas and I decided I would just build on the square until it reaches the size of a small throw/lap blanket. I wish I could post a photo for you!
This is the "jewel" of crocheting !!! I think once you learn to do something like this, yr crocheting confidence hits that level of bliss. Also, thank you for showing us how to sew in and hide the ends. Thanks you for yr kindness.

I think it says something about ourselves that we are annoyed by a cheerful person, at least that is what they say: That you have to find an irritation within yourself. But the amount of laughter, while nothing funny happens, also irritates me very much 🙉 Combination working without colleagues and uncertainty, I think. I see this in a lot of tutorials. Regardless, this was a great tutorial. But with the sound off 🤭 I'm sorry Sisters, some laughter is fine but it is a liiiitle too much 😘🍀

I really enjoyed the journey! I also enjoyed your passion and the fun you have while creating this piece. It was so much fun and the result is awesome!!! Thank you so much!
I have seen so many beautiful flowers crochet patterns on Pinterest and I had my eyes on them for so many years, 😊 some time I see on UA-cam channel and it is not English 😤, frustrated I got. I came across your channel one day, 🫣😇 the universe has spoken 😮, I was so exited, I mean I have been learned and know how to crochet since I was 5 yrs old, it the hobby that I most love. Naturally I love flowers . ( by the way this UA-cam is in my husband’s name). 😂 he loves what I do, but he is not a crochet person. I would like to show my gratitude 🙏 tell you how grateful I am for your talent to teach the most beautiful, complicated look crochet pattern to be so easy to follow. You spoke well and clear, you giggle along the way, I love that 😂. Specially free patterns 🫣🙏😇 , I am not a pattern reader, but it is very thoughtful and kind of you to do that. All of us human need to be kind at some point of our life, and you did it. Thank so so much for this wonderful opportunity to create something I truly love. I tell you a secret ( I told my husband this is my masterpiece)😅😂 😊
Usually I’m happy following a pattern but this video has made it so easy to crochet along with you. I might want to do all future work this way now! Thank you so much for sharing, for free, this lovely square. I’m making mine into a cushion.
I just started this square today and all I can say is WOW! I'm in love! I'm having so much fun doing all the different rounds and colors and I adore the idea of how it originally came together.. passing it back and forth to a friend. Beautiful pattern and the directions are very easy to follow! Thanks y'all for making this possible. I can't wait to finish❤
I loved this tutorial and my square looks gorgeous I’m going to turn my square into a decorative cushion !! I felt great sense of achievement when I completed the square as there was some tricky stitches and techniques but all was explained clearly 👍🏻🧶
The square was 12” by 12” I used James Brett 100% cotton wool in pastel colours can’t remember what hook size I used possibly 3.5 or 4mm and I crocheted a back piece in single crochet rows, then crocheted the edges together 😊
I just made one of these beautiful squares to see if I could do it and yes 👏 I was able to finish it completely 🥰 it turned out beautifully! I’m going to make a bedspread 🛌 it will be beautiful! 😍 only thing I would say is to mark the first and last HDC of round 11 because you will need to know where they are on round 14 I believe? lol that was the only hard part for me because I used my own colors. So I recommend to Mark your stitches just so it’s easier. Thank you ladies for this beautiful project!!! It’s not difficult surprisingly!!! 👏 👍 👍 😊
This is absolutely beautiful! I just bought 6 different colored yarns today so I could try & crochet a pillow cover that matches some fabric I have & this pattern couldn't be more pefect. It actually looks a lot like the main flower in the fabric! It's been so long since I've had to do so many changes, so I hope my piece will turn out as beautiful as yours. Thank you too for making the video bc I'm definitely a visual learner. I'm so excited & can't wait to start! 🥰 🤞
This is SUPER cute!! My daughter in law loves green so I'm going to need to figure out how to do this in different shades of green with a little gray or cream thrown in. She's expecting her 1st child in June so I'm working on the ABC bobble blanket right now.... I'll certainly try this next as I'd love to give it to her at the baby shower in April. Thank you so much for the pattern! It's just so lovely. ❤
A fun project indeed. Used a chunky wool and the square was used to make a bag at the request of someone who liked the pattern. Thank you. Love your work.
I can't wait to try this. You did such a lovely job explaining it all making it so easy. You make me want to make a couple blankets of these for my granddaughter's. 🥰 Thank you for sharing out if the kindness of your heart and live of the craft. It's so evident you love this too. ✌️😊
Absolutely beautiful, I’m on my 3rd square, experimenting with different colors. Going to make pillows, just love it! Well done, keep smiling, and laughing, we need more cheerfulness. ❤
I'm using this pattern as a center to an Afghan im making for a friend, using this as a core and to complete it im going outward with a standard granny square....i would love to show you when I'm done... This is my first attempt at the puffs and the treble (that was interesting lol) not to mention any sort of raised project I love it!!
Wow that sounds absolutely magical! Would love to see it when finished. Maybe you could email us a pic of it? 😍 So so curious on your color and yarn choices! Wish you lots of fun. 🌸🍃☕️😄
I’m a beginner & I would never attempt this if it wasn’t for your detailed instructions . It’s so important to explain very slowly & repeatedly every single step till the very end. Thank you for that.Wish me luck! From sunny California!
Oh wow, thank you so much for your kind words. It means so much to hear and we wish you lots of fun with it. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need any help along the way. 😃🧶🌸🍃
This is insanely beautiful. Extremely well explained. I only crochet in French terminology, first-time an English tutorial actually got me going and understanding. Yarns ordered, will be having lots of fun with it. Thank you for the tutorial, the written pattern and sharing your magic.
i dont know if im slow or if this is a normal amount of time for this project, but it's taking me 6+ hours and my hands are sore😭 but thank you for this video, it's very helpful and you explain things so well❤
Hi Bea, absolutely! Have you tried any of our flowers? They make for quick and cute projects that can easily be turned into a keychain or a bookmark. ua-cam.com/play/PLzulXu_xGzMxGtj7EGxSJCQ3xdVtYlObz.html ♥️🧡💛

Awww it’s never too late to spread love sweet 🌸🍃 Thank you so much for joining me in this game and making this into a super fun crochet adventure. Sending you the biggest of hugs ♥️♥️♥️
Oh my gosh, I just had to comment on this wonderful video. I had some free time this holiday weekend, and having been a knitter for 15+ years but always been a little hesitant to try crochet, I finally looked up some tutorial videos and made a few granny squares. I saw this video and thought, what the heck, why not give it a go? And your instruction is so clear and easy to follow that I've been able to make the square! I had to look up a few of the stitches but you're really helping me understand the different elements of crochet design and your video is so much easier to follow than trying to decipher written instructions. Thank you so much, I'll definitely be trying your other designs as well!
Awwww 🥰 Reading this comment of yours really makes me so so happy. Thank you! It means the world to hear and I wish you many more happy crochet moments.
this tutorial was AMAZING! truly! i struggle with written patterns at times, especially intricate pieces like this, and this video was extremely helpful. thank you so much!!
Hi Nicola. I’m so happy to hear that you had fun with it. It’s such a gorgeous square and I hope you’ll find a lovely place for it. 🌸🍃 Wish you a wonderful day.
Oi Roberta, muito obrigado pelas suas amáveis palavras. Estou muito feliz em ouvir isso e desejo a você muito e muito divertimento com este design. 🥰♥ ️ xxx Tess
I just finished 2 of these squares in hues of purples with a white for the lotus petal. They turned out perfectly for what I wanted them to--pockets for a shawl. Thank you so much for the awesome tutorial/pattern!
It’s beautiful design. I am a beginner but I am going to try. Your instructions are very clear. It’s a challenge for me. Thank you. Regards from Jakarta, Indonesia. Chandra Black

I just finished this first one as a test and she came out to 11 inchs on all sides this is a BIG gal and such a lovely one at that super easy thank you very much
I am about to start with the 27th row in a few minutes. I am so happy with the way it turned out though initially I wasn't happy with the colors that I had to work with. But now I love it so much that I thought of telling you before I complete it. Wish I could show you my work. Thanks a ton once again for this adorable and fun loving project. This was my first of this kind.
Hi Angelyn, I’m so thrilled to hear that. Thank you so much! What colors did you go for? 😃 If you want to you can always email us a pic at SistersInStitch@gmail.com 🌸🌿 We would love to see it. 🙌
I wanted to thank you for the pattern (and tutorial) for the Blooming Lotus Square pattern. I started it to include it in a granny square blanket with 12" squares and didn't read the story behind it. Through many nights of frogging and throwing crocheting needles in frustration, it is finished and gorgeous and I will be turning it into a wall hanging. (I wish there was a way to include a picture.) The tutorial was a Godsend (even if I was going to scream at one more "easy peasy lemon breezy") when it wasn't easy. I have come across another "What were you thinking?" pattern, but I think I will do a few simpler squares first. Again thank you Tess and Ina. It was a great adventure.
Awww thank you so much for your kind comment. It means the world to hear and we are so happy you enjoyed it.. Even through the lemons.. 😘😅😂 Sending you a big hug!
Thanks for the beautiful pattern and so easy your instructions are. Am already on row 13!. I've plenty of some beautiful soft tweed yarn all autumn colours , and so a blanket it will be!!!. Wish I could show it here once done! Just an update 😊 Regarding the formation of the square at Row 16 I think? , yeah. I found I had to watch each stitch, I personally would have liked, ( because I find reading instructions a bit challenging) 10 single crochet 2 half double, 2 double, and so on. Well I managed it !!! Am sure many will agree. But hay! Am doing it! Thanks😂
Ooooh that sounds absolutely magical! You can always contact us through our homepage www.SistersInStitch.com/contact or send us a DM on Instagram at @SistersInStitch 🌼 We would love to see it
I saw this absolutely beautiful piece and I just finished watching the video I loved it Im crocheting it today for a project that I have. What a relaxing piece. Thank you 🤗I know you created 3 years ago but for me it’s new.
Dankeschön für die kostenlose Anleitung. Ich habe es schon nachgehäkelt und es ist so unglaublich schön. Deine Beschreibung ist toll und verständlich. Ich bin happy, thank you so much❤
Love how this looks thought I could follow along and do it without adding the square part on back just do the lotus flower on its own ! But for stuck few rows in Is there a pattern just for the flower not the square add on ? Love how this looks ❤
Wonderful video! Gorgeous square with such clear instructions on how to crochet it! And the cherry on top of all my excitement is that you included time stamps in the description!!!! Thank you so much!
Hi and thank you so much for your kind words. I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed it. 🥰 And time stamps sure makes crochet life so much easier! 💛🧡♥️ Wish you lots of fun and happy crocheting. xxx Tess
Okay, I'm taking this on. I've been recovering from a repetitive motion shoulder injury (due to marathon crochet efforts) and I need to get back. The pattern is lovely, and into round 2, it's obvious that your instructions are clear. I appreciate the time stamps as well, and even though guys crochet and knit, too, I think "SistersInStitch" is a delightful name.
Hi Betty, I’m so sorry to hear that you have been hurt and are happy you are feeling better. Hope the Blooming Lotus will bring you some crochet joy. 🥰 Regarding the name: I totally agree with you, all people enjoy crochet regardless of gender. SistersInStitch was first intended for me and my friend Kay whom I started this business with as we saw our friendship as the crochet versions of sister-in-laws, and the movie sisters in jeans from back in the early 2000. ♥️ Two years ago, she decided to leave the brand and I’m now flying solo but have included all crocheters as my fellow SistersInStitch:es. 😄 Happy crocheting!
Thank you so very much for this excellent tutorial. I just finished my first square, in the green colour way and I love it. Your instruction and presentation is just perfect!

Thank’you so much for this vidéo! I learned a lot: new stitches and technics I didn’t know to make volumes. At the same time it’s so delightful like a cup of tea with cookies because you seem to be so funny and joyful … and I love the Colors which you use . 👏 👍 👍 😊
Awww thank you so so much for your kind words and helpful suggestions. We are so happy you tried it out and had fun! :)
Awwww thank you, we wish you lots of crochet fun and are sure it will work out absolutely gorgeously for you☀
@SistersInStitch They turned out better than I imagined! Thxs again!
Ooh so so happy to hear that! 🎉
Oooh congratulations, how wonderful! Wish you lots of fun and happy crochet moments 🌸🍃🥰
So excited to use this pattern as a focal center piece in a tote bag. I'm only using three colors but it's stunning
That sounds absolutely gorgeous!
Finishing the very last round now...what a journey !! Thank you so much
Just remarkable. I can’t take my eyes off from this pattern . I will surely try to make like this though I am a beginner . You hv described well
Hi Jaya and thank you so much for your kind words. It means so much to hear. 🌷 Wish you lots of fun!
One stitch at a time!
A fun project indeed. Used a chunky wool and the square was used to make a bag at the request of someone who liked the pattern. Thank you. Love your work.
Oooh that sounds like so much fun! Sending you a big hug 🥰
I can't wait to try this. You did such a lovely job explaining it all making it so easy. You make me want to make a couple blankets of these for my granddaughter's. 🥰 Thank you for sharing out if the kindness of your heart and live of the craft. It's so evident you love this too. ✌️😊
Oh Tammie thank you, that means so much to hear. I wish you lots and lots of joy 🌸🍃♥️
Absolutely beautiful, I’m on my 3rd square, experimenting with different colors. Going to make pillows, just love it! Well done, keep smiling, and laughing, we need more cheerfulness. ❤

So so happy to hear that, thank you! 🥰
This pattern has become my most favourite I keep making with different colour combinations what a fantabulous work you did thanks tons ❤
From sunny California!

i dont know if im slow or if this is a normal amount of time for this project, but it's taking me 6+ hours and my hands are sore😭 but thank you for this video, it's very helpful and you explain things so well❤
I would lovet a tutorial for maybe a smaller project, like a bookmark, keychain, a bookcover.
Hi Bea, absolutely! Have you tried any of our flowers? They make for quick and cute projects that can easily be turned into a keychain or a bookmark. ua-cam.com/play/PLzulXu_xGzMxGtj7EGxSJCQ3xdVtYlObz.html ♥️🧡💛

Just found this pattern and loving it thank you
Oh my gosh, I just had to comment on this wonderful video.
Absolutely stunning. I'm going to try this.
Edit: Going at it for a few days. Currently on round 13. 7/14/22

Thank you I really enjoy this work
My blooming lotus became all white and looks sweet
Gratitude
Oooh that sounds so lovely, the texture really shows when made in a solid color 🌸🍃👌
I just finished 2 of these squares in hues of purples with a white for the lotus petal. They turned out perfectly for what I wanted them to--pockets for a shawl. Thank you so much for the awesome tutorial/pattern!
So so happy to hear that Jess, it sounds like an awesome project! 🤩
Me as a newbie thought this is gonna be 'quite' easy but the whole process just get me breathless🥲
Awww hi! ♥️ Yes it’s not the easiest of our makes to crochet. Lots of fun things happening in every round. 😄
It’s beautiful design. I am a beginner but I am going to try. Your instructions are very clear. It’s a challenge for me. Thank you. Regards from Jakarta, Indonesia. Chandra Black

Tess
Just an update 😊
Regarding the formation of the square at Row 16 I think? , yeah.
I found I had to watch each stitch,
I personally would have liked, ( because I find reading instructions a bit challenging)
10 single crochet 2 half double, 2 double, and so on.
These are absolutely gorgeous. Your ideas are incredibly creative and beautiful.
Thank you so much 🥰
Dankeschön für die kostenlose Anleitung. Ich habe es schon nachgehäkelt und es ist so unglaublich schön. Deine Beschreibung ist toll und verständlich. Ich bin happy, thank you so much❤
Awww thank you so much, we are so happy to hear that.
Love how this looks thought I could follow along and do it without adding the square part on back just do the lotus flower on its own ! But for stuck few rows in
Is there a pattern just for the flower not the square add on ? Love how this looks ❤
Yes there is, you'll find it here under the extras-section: www.sistersinstitch.com/blooming-lotus-extras
Wish you lots of fun and happy crocheting.

😄 Happy crocheting!
gorgeous pattern … great teaching thankyou … the second last row was the most frustrating 😂 but i got there with a stash of stitch markers 🙏
Thank you so very much for this excellent tutorial. I just finished my first square, in the green colour way and I love it. Your instruction and presentation is just perfect!
Vc é fantástica! Obrigada por nos ensinar. Tenho 61 anos e amo crochê. Deus te abençoe. Vou fazer para presentear minha irmã. Desejo a você milhões de felicidades ⚘️

Thank’you so much for this vidéo! I learned a lot: new stitches and technics I didn’t know to make volumes. At the same time it’s so delightful like a cup of tea with cookies because you seem to be so funny and joyful … and I love the Colors which you use . Those mandala which have different rows permit to learn a lot different things on a single project ❤
Señora... lo hice...solo siguiendo visualmente lo que UD hacía. Porque los subtitulos tapaban sus indicaciones.. y me quedo muy muy lindo...y emplee la flor para hacer un bolso portacelular...muchas gracias
What is beautiful motif!! The tutorial was easily followed, also. Thank you!!
Thank you so much ✨🥰 We are so happy you had fun!
