  • Whoop whoop! Week five has arrived and it's time to crochet our fifth square design: The L.A. Sunflower. It's a beautiful floral square that combines the look and feel of a modern yet vintage design. In its center rests a two layered eight petal flower with darling little picots to connect it to its airy lacy frame; simply adorable.
For this week we will be using the same pattern for both the blanket and pillow, the only difference is the size of the yarn you are using Yarn And Colors: Super Must-Have or Must-Have. Scroll all the way down for the colorway information and the clickable links (the Quick Clicks) for each round which makes it super easy to navigate through the tutorial.

As we only speak English (and Swedish) the pattern are written in US-terms and this comprehensive stitch by stitch tutorials will be shown in that too. You can find the downloadable patterns: one in color and one as a printer friendly version, on our homepage at www.SistersInStitch.com/
There, you'll also find the Island Stroll CAL Stitch Guide which contains all the techniques, abbreviation and terminology lists you will need to help you out a long the way. And they do including UK and Swedish shortenings too.
    Happy crocheting!

That thread is beautiful! You are a natural teacher and your pleasure for crochet is tangible :). I’ve followed along using a plain beige cotton but I intend to find your thread (or its equivalent) in Australia. Your patterns are lovely :j.

Oh no, have you tried to block it? It could be the yarn you are using and/or your tension.
