Good video. My thoughts: The MOSFET discharge limit is sort of BS. I've taken the Krytac mosfet, which is a 3034 mosfet, out of the Krytac and installed it into a DSG build. I ran a 70c discharge 11.1v through the mosfet with no issues. Gun still works to today, IIRC. I've done this many times. The absence of a sector delay chip is a legit issue. No joke, the first Krytac I used would not feed until I installed a sector delay chip. The overuse of thread lock is insane. I stripped a gearbox screw the other day because of it. I don't like micro switches because the gearbox shell they're designed to fit in won't accept Spectres or Chimeras lol
Of course the mosfet isn't, the motor brushes will melt before you reach the current limit of a 3034 mosfet. I don't like tappet delayer chips, for me they have caused more issues than they have fixed. In high ROF setups they can actually cause air seal issues because the tappet plate is pulled back too early in the piston cycle. Krytac seems like KWA all over again to me...
I like when people put out what's wrong because then it can be fixed. think about it if everyone goes on about the great things but doesn't point out any issues. then those issues will never get fixed
ive worked in tool shops using the hex screws, ive noticed if its a socket head cap screw they are good and rarely strip but the button head cap screws like on the krytac usually always strip after being in for some time, sometimes even after the first time tightening the screw they just cant handle the pressure of loosening and strip or the head snap right off the threads
Well the M-Lok versions out now don't have captive body pins or a micro switch trigger but they have a higher rates mosfet and the PDW-M I got comes with a new CNC air nozzle with a o-ring and comes wired to deans out of the box and supposedly they are gonna start fazing those changes into their other models oh yeah and on all the M-Lok models they changed to a buffer tube screw that goes through into the gearbox to fix the receiver cracking issue
Hey, if those rounds on the box mag are real, the links make it technically a weapon magazine. Be careful not to have more than 10 rounds connected, otherwise it becomes a high capacity magazine, thus illegal under the NY SAFE Act.
It's nice to see an honest review like this from someone who likes and uses Krytacs enough to know what's good and what isn't in the long run. Most name brand AEGs are good for the right out of the box reviews most people do. Long term use reviews are so much more informative. By the way, which Sightmark optic you had that failed? Just asking because I have one on a real AR15 and haven't had any issues with it. Maybe it's one of those cases where quality is hit or miss and I got lucky.
I like how you did this because I was looking to get a KRYTAC but every video was just things that where good and I would like to know what is bad about them
Great vid man, I love how u pointed out pros and cons unlike some other youtubers. We love Krytac but they do have their problems because all guns have their problems. Keep up the good work man!
When the screws are thread locked, heat them up and it will soften the threadlocker. You can do it with a soldering gun to keep from heating the parts around the screw and you don't need to get them smoking hot.
If I recall correctly, you can get the mk1 lower receivers direct from Krytac, if you were to contact their sales or support team. I don't understand how the MOSFET can burn out, it's just a standard 3034, which should work with 14.8v batteries. MOSFETs can't cause overspin. Having a high discharge battery combined with a strong motor (like the Krytac 30k) and a relatively weak spring (even a worn m120 spring can have this problem) causes overspin. Overspin can be fixed by upgrading your spring and then ssing to get back to the FPS and ROF you had previously, or getting a lower discharge battery or a lower torque motor. I would personally get a prommy m120 which will not wear down as quickly, as this is the easiest solution. AB is another solution, but seems to be a controversial topic in the teching community. Bear in mind, I'm a new tech, but I've learnt enough to sound smart on the internet. I also am not a Krytac fanboy. I live outside of the US, and while I'd love to try one out, when it breaks replacement parts are going to be an absolute pain to get, so I've decided to just build myself a custom TM compatible rifle. I know you probably already know everything outlined above, but I think it's useful for someone who is considering Krytac who watches this video to know. If I've said anything incorrect, please let me know so I can fix it. Great work on the videos, keep it up!
It's funny cause when ppl mention it not handling more than 15c...as mosfets for the most part aren't strict to the #c. It's typical something of a range and not a specific max number. Airsoftology talked about burning out your gun via strong battery and for the most part unless you stick a 50c+ into it you won't see much trouble. Though it might put more stress on the stock parts but most ppl upgrade the internals eventually.
Richard Yuen Yea, the 15c rating for Krytacs come from the 20A limit which if you go over you can blow your fuse (or should blow your fuse, cus it's a 20A fuse) and if you get close to it you'll get overspin if you have a weaker spring than an m120. With typical airsoft form factor batteries you'll be safe with a 15c discharge rate because they have a low capacity, but some of the 20c lipos you can fit into a Krytac will cause you problems. Of course, if you have a stock mk2 and an 11.1v say 40c you won't have any problems unless you upgrade the spring which will cause your motor to draw more current so your fuse will pop, or if you downgrade your spring you will get overspin. If you want to drop your FPS and use a higher discharge lipo you should look at shortstroking, or replace your Mosfet with an AB one and then change the spring. And that's the complete guide to Lipo batteries in a Krytac, Written by Keith Anderson.
yep my krytac pdw broke down the corner of the lower reciever, same spot as you. didn't know it was repairable, had left it off for awhile, might look into repairing it sometime soon.
How about lack of recoil/blowback and anti dry fire? Tokyo Marui really lead the race with these features. Seriously the best the could do is a $1 mosfet? No trigger ecu with full cycle completion?
I know this is an old video, but just a tip, threadlocker will loosen up with a little heat. Obviously be careful not to use heat on plastic parts but metal bodies can take just enough to loosen it up
I agree with everything especially the hex body pins. I've seen 3 krytacs mosfets burn out and my brother just recently dropped his krytac and the lower broke in the exact spot you mentioned.
The reason the Krytacs overspin is because the motor has 16 turns per armature, and is comparable to a SHS high torque motor. Also, the neodymium motor's magnets are sup par, which increases the amount of overspin. A motor with stronger magnets and tpa will help.
I stripped and had to drill out my motor plate screw because of that damn thread lock. Now I need to buy a new motor plate, which I of course can't get anywhere.
Great video, have you guys tried heat to loosen the threadlock? Either a hair dryer or a heat gun should provide enough heat to allow the presumed red loctite to release. Put it back together with blue loctite after cleaning the bolts with acetone.
So I’m a krytac fan boy too, I have some complaints as well. First, the pain chips pretty easy. Second, there is a wire guide in the gearbox that is in the way of a polarstar micro switch and is hard to shave.
my mk2 spr lower cracked, couldn't get a replacement in Canada forever. looking into the lvoa, but no replacement lowers anywhere. but the spr lowers are a fair price now a day.
I’m a experienced player looking to get back into the sport and want to get top of the line aeg I’m looking at a Krytac LVOA-C and dropping a few upgrades into it any other guns I should know about? And I know about umbrella armory but don’t have the money

I'm fairly new to the Airsoft world & I bought for my first AEG a VFC VR16 :) I would like to know what you think about it & should I run it with a 7.4v or 11.1v LiPo ??! I don't know if it has a mosfet integrated :) Thank you very much ! Love the videos
my stock got wobbly on my mk2 crb it seems like it needs glue but I can't tighten it or loosen it or anything because the cap on the buffer tube is stuck help
Hey guys, I am thinking of buying a krytac, but here the Netherlands, they are priced a little below or above €500 (so about $550)do you think that they are still as good for that amount of money ? Kind regards, Sebastian.
My LVOA-C was not working. When I replaced the hop up with a stock G&G it stopped, however this hop up is not as good. I started working on the hop up and I got it working but now it double cycles, I am using a 11.1 lipo, is this really the cause of the double cycle? Thoughts?
Creepy Airsoft so it's like a $3 part, you insert in on your sector gear. It's easy to spot where it goes because there is a little cylinder sticking up on the gear and it goes between that and the center point where it rotates. Pretty much it lets the tappet plate be pulled back for a longer time so that the bb's can cycle better I believe.
one thing I dislike about them from working on them alot is the non TM compatible sector gear and another little thing was the extremely heavy barrel nut which I think is really un necessary
Dirty Dan AKA Lethal Danny Golden Blade You should look at the new VFCs, and you should also look into buying an upgrade platform instead, if you were so inclined.
Oc Airsoft ayy it's your boy. I don't know if you remember but we first met on a taiga airsoft video where I spewed some bullshit about most mags not being able to handle anything above 40rps, I then went and educated myself and on another video I told you I was going to do a 40 RPS ssg build (12:1 16tpa, both shs). I think I'm going to get the shortest G&P TMR from redwolf.com or ehobbyasia. Thoughts/advice?
Oc Airsoft Cool, I have 2 more questions: Would buying the G&P TMR off of evike be a mistake (the markings on it are actually very different to the Asian TMRs) and what other guns/brands would you recommend, specifically for a newb like yours truely?
I find it interesting that the broken lower excuse is always "the buffer tube does not bolt into the gearbox". Majority of vfc guns do the same thing, including the 416s.
Anything to say about the Krytac Vector AEG? I have heard so much conflicting information that I honestly have no idea what to think anymore. Some say the trigger is not responsive enough others say you can fire very fast on semi by feathering it. There have been FPS consistancy issues due to people allegedly using the wrong battery. Hell I cant even find a decent video of an accuracy test because people use different BB weights. The best one was with .25g bbs the worst one was with .20g bbs. Mind clearing a few things up? Thanks!
I totally agree I have one the first batch krytac mk1 crb too the biggest issue I've had is the pistol grip and the buffer tube screw which I just now replaced with there replacement because the old metal one was so cheaply made it crack all over for just shouldering the weapon great video! Definitely a needed one at that👍🏻
Heard that the krytac lmg piston doesn't hold up well to full auto can you confirm the durability. Making a purchase soon but hesitant after hearing such.
I am looking for the Krytac MKII SPR and I wonder, How is the paint holding up and how tight do the mags and stock fit this rifle - is there any wobble? And is it possible to run this with the 11.1V Titan nunchucks that are rated 16C? And Is it possible to adjust the joules with this mosfet and things like trigger response? That being said is the trigger snappy or more mushy like almost all other AEGs? I do like that it has a flat trigger design.. I would like an AEG that is just superior ootb, though I am willing to change a barrel, hop unit and bucking but nothing receiver wise really.. Do you recommend this gun or are there other AEGs at this price point or even higher that are just better and why?
I think in a few years Modify will be putting out their XTC line and getting better sales than Krytac. All of the great features of the G1 were kind of nullified by the extra work that needed done to the gun before it was fielded (wrong hop-up bucking, wires coming undone, etc).
I’m thinking of getting a MK11 CRB but I have an 11.1 lipo that has a 20c discharge rate. Should I buy a different batterie or will this not really be an issue?
apparently krytac is like the Nike of shoes here in England, they are good, really expensive, but you can find cheaper and better ways to get the same sort of thing. i think there is one guy i have ever seen with a krytac and he didn't enjoy using it without major upgrades
I have a question I can't get answered anywhere. Can I use the 11.5" barrel from the war sport on my MK2 CRB? I just bought my CRB ( first airsoft rifle ) but I wanted a barrel that's just a bit longer.
my stock got wobbly on my mk2 crb it seems like it needs glue but I can't tighten it or loosen it or anything because the cap on the buffer tube is stuck help what kind of glue can I glue the 2 pieces of metal back together its loose wear the sling point and the reciever meet
I think this is a fantastic concept. Like you said if nobody points out flaws how is the product going to evolve the way the consumers want it to. I do see a number of Krytacs here at the local fields. Not a fan of rifles myself but if I were( and that kriss may sway me) I would not hesitate to pick one of these up.
I just used flat head screws for the body pins, isn't hard, get the screws for like a dollar, it's also weird you don't carry Alan keys, I don't leave home without them.
was excited to buy one of these and couldn't get the color I wanted on amazon and then saw the Avalon crb mk2 prime eligible... the Avalon looks cool and front lite but the finish and out of box performance makes me want to be patient and get the krytac…… I feel like if I buy the Avalon I will end up with both and if I get the krytac ill just be a snob.... suggestions?

Most problematic thing with Krytacs for me is proprietary parts.
Has the lower receiver issue been sorted with the mk2?
You should do G&g wild hog next
When the screws are thread locked, heat them up and it will soften the threadlocker. You can do it with a soldering gun to keep from heating the parts around the screw and you don't need to get them smoking hot.

Hell I cant even find a decent video of an accuracy test because people use different BB weights. The best one was with .25g bbs the worst one was with .20g bbs. Mind clearing a few things up? Thanks!
He sure likes throwing his KRYTACS...
I've had to saw off a pistol grip because of the screws stripping
If you use a hair dryer it helps the thread lock still kind of a pain though🤷🏼♂️
LR Films I use a 11.1 20c I’m my mk1 spr and the only problem was it kept blowing my fuse. I put a 30 fuse in it and never had another issue.
Does any other companys make there buffer screw not go into the gearbox like krytac
apparently krytac is like the Nike of shoes here in England, they are good, really expensive, but you can find cheaper and better ways to get the same sort of thing. i think there is one guy i have ever seen with a krytac and he didn't enjoy using it without major upgrades
I have a question I can't get answered anywhere. Can I use the 11.5" barrel from the war sport on my MK2 CRB? I just bought my CRB ( first airsoft rifle ) but I wanted a barrel that's just a bit longer.
my stock got wobbly on my mk2 crb it seems like it needs glue but I can't tighten it or loosen it or anything because the cap on the buffer tube is stuck help
what kind of glue can I glue the 2 pieces of metal back together its loose wear the sling point and the reciever meet
ok I watched the part at around 12:18 I'll consider that to tighten everything
I don't know about you guys but mag compatibility was a issue for me
Special designed gears only work in certain guns which cost close to 100$
is the criss vector legal in germany if yes does they ship to germany
Really good review, appreciate this a lot. Thank you for doing this
I think this is a fantastic concept. Like you said if nobody points out flaws how is the product going to evolve the way the consumers want it to. I do see a number of Krytacs here at the local fields. Not a fan of rifles myself but if I were( and that kriss may sway me) I would not hesitate to pick one of these up.
They also like to lock up the trigger . Same goes with a lct
Why do you like micro switches?
How do you replace the stock
Fucking amazing video. So helpful. Do you guys have any experience with the VFC avalon and could do a similar video?
Would u run a 11.1v 2000mAh LiPo in the your lmg? I'm looking at that and the mk.2 trident.
I just used flat head screws for the body pins, isn't hard, get the screws for like a dollar, it's also weird you don't carry Alan keys, I don't leave home without them.
The brass barrels they come with are garbage, flithy and warped. The hop up rubber was covered in grease.
over spin isn't an issue.... it's called efficacy.
Oc Airsoft exactly.
Efficiency****
was excited to buy one of these and couldn't get the color I wanted on amazon and then saw the Avalon crb mk2 prime eligible... the Avalon looks cool and front lite but the finish and out of box performance makes me want to be patient and get the krytac…… I feel like if I buy the Avalon I will end up with both and if I get the krytac ill just be a snob.... suggestions?
