Best thing for those CPC splash guards that you refer to as "custom" is 3 inches of trim LOK at the top. They will not come undone once the double face tape start to let go.
these are 100% custom and not CPC and they wont come undone if you use the right tape and prep properly i have yet to have any of them fail on my cars and I hit them 5 times a week with the pressure washer under all 4 seasons of temperatures. the cheap tape other companies give is usually the weak link
Finally got around to installing these. Definitely worth the piece of mind. Live in jersey So the roads suck. I’m usually pretty bad with DIY stuff but the instructions were super clear.
yeah during development it was so cool to watch every step of the way on the cameras i attached to the car. A ton of time and effort went into these and they work.
I just got my 2019 GT 350R, I watched all your previous videos when your reviewed your red gt350... those really helped me decide how to go about purchasing my own. Definitely will be picking up your splash guards.
@@autofanaticcars thanks, already placed my order. Can't wait to get these on to mines... your videos, especially the 1 year and 2 year update reviews on the GT 350, is what really helped me out on my purchase. Especially about the part of not over paying for the car. I managed to pick up my new 2019 GT 350R about 4.5k below MSRP locally to me. Al though I did not care for some extras it also came with the black stripe, carbon fiber interior bits, and the tech package. But finding this car it was hard enough due to the mark ups across the country for one of these. But I am pretty happy mine came with the tech package after all. This car actually exceeded my expectations, I know the reviews of other raved about it... but it ended up being way better than what people can even describe in words.
After seeing these I'm really wanting to make some for my VW Polo GTI. Think most modern cars have a similar issue where there are exposed parts of lower sections.
I prepped the area including using 3m adhesion promoter. Sorry that I said they were CPC although I cut out a pic of yours when you had it on the table and the CPC from their website and then put one on top of the other and they are a 100% percent match. Even the 2 pieces of the 3m on the sheet came exactly as the ones from CPC. Probably a coincidence. Perhaps you should look into a patent attorney. Btw, love the shift knob you made for me. I get alot of compliments.
they are not the same as those in length and width thats what makes these unique and why they work so much better than the others. CPC sends cheap clear tape i do not use that because it does not work, mine are also made of a different grade of plastic, thickness, texture and the clips I use are different. much more thought went into what I am producing for R specific cars and guys running custom wider wheels and tires.
They look great! I put the CPC ones on my 16 GT PP when I put spacers on the wheels, and while they work, they are flimsy, smaller, and don't adhere very well. I'll probably be ordering a set soon. Thanks for all you do!
thanks for sharing your feedback, FYI 6 years ago i was the first to design splash guards for the S550 Mustang and i mailed samples of the early prototypes to Mustang vendors and im sure they got into the hands of some who seemed to have copied the initial design but they do not work on R fitments or modified cars as you clearly explained. This happens so often with the aftermarket. Since i spent so much time in the design phase as i explained in the video I decided to perfect my original design concept.there is a big difference in what I came up with and they just work as the video shows. If you order a set you will be happy. thanks for watching. AF
I'm pretty sure it was meant to be hallow for aerodynamics if you put these you'll be interfearing with the gt350r's performance, just to keep it clean.
R owners going from Sport Cup 2 tires to 4S tires should be aware that the 4S in same size as Sport Cup 2 is actually a wider tire and will have more poke. If you go from Sport Cup 2 to 4S on your R you can actually go to a narrower 4S and it will actually be the same width as the Sport Cup 2 that were originally installed.
I have driven the R models on the 4S and i honestly did not like them on the carbon wheels I guess I am spoiled with the Cup 2 feel, i would maybe use those tires with a custom forged wheel and run the 305/325 4S fitment most 350 guys run on these cars and everyone seems happy with that set up. tires sizes are weird from brand to brand and even series some undersized and some oversized makes no sense.
Is there a pdf of the instructions as well? I would like to know what modifications are needed to make this work and can they be reversed. A video of installation would also be helpful. Thanks!
thanks for the order on the Shelby models they come with tiny rear flaps that seem to work well have you considered those? the new batch of guards will be fabricated this coming week as the material shows up.
Just bought the splash guards. Do you have a video of the installation? I'm not saavy with technical jargon and would not want to cut into my PPF if I could avoid it!
Hi Mason each kit comes with highly detailed instructions if you have any issue or questions contact me direct, I did film the install on my car but unfortunately the camera flew off my car during a drive video and lost the footage, then the covid hit and its been hard to get a local customer to give me their cars to reshoot that video. I tried pulling mine off and let me tell you there on there strong so i may carefully remove one of mine just to shoot an install video for you guys.
Just got mine, is there an actual installation video for these? I read the instructions, but I think a video would be more helpful in how to attach the adhesive, etc.
super easy but i may do a video soon once i get another local GT350 to demonstrate because once they are on they are not easy to remove which i rather not on my own car. if you have any questions you can email direct and il help you out.
Looking to buy a pair but have two questions- if I decide I don't want them in the future how removable are they? Does this make it difficult to do a ppf? Looking to get one put on in the spring after storage. Have watched your content for a while now and just took delivery of a 350 Heritage! Yesterday was breaking in the first 150 miles which was an ecstatic experience but also realized the extent of the Sport Cup 2s throwing rocks. Thank you for all the GT350 content and insight! It is appreciated.

I have similar rock guards on my GT350. Recently I removed them to install PPF. I found a lot of little rocks collecting behind rock guards. I found this method is not so effective.

You specified R models or aftermarket wheel/tires. Does the base gt350 have different sized tires? Or are you just referring to the models that came with the cup 2’s from them being so sticky. Fr what I’ve read the base and R modes both have this problem
these are the ones you want standard 350 or R they kick up rocks badly and in one drive can destroy the side of the cars paint. We are having a 2 year sale visit website and order to save we can ship today or tomorrow for you.
we do not offer rear guards the GT350 has a little guard built in and the front is where the issue lies as you turn the front wheels rocks kick up along the side of the car
