"Jazz lives next door to gut bucket blues with Jack Pearson and he values both equally": well blues has been at the core of jazz during all the history of the genre, there's nothing strange in that
@@canadianbluesfan53 Had a business trip in Nashville a couple of years ago. First time there. 3 months before the trip, checked 3rd and Lindsey website. Perfect luck, Jack and his trio were playing the weekend I was there. Bought tickets "Immediately". Great night, unbelievable music. Even got to talk to Jack for a bit between sets. Super nice guy.
Oh yeah! 2 great players, but Jack is just liquid fire, seems like he plays like it’s a fretless. And Brent is focused and tight. The bass player played a killer solo, thanks for posting.
To put it succinctly what folks r saying bout jack , the not straining and ease of which he. Smoothly cuts up the riffs , well it's a good yoga to be relaxed and happy but to summarize jack has style and class
And here's the thing that really blew my mind , he shows up and kills it with Tommy Emmanuel on a , Drum Roll Please, A MADE IN INDONESIA BULLET SQUIER FULLY STOCK, and just blew everyone and everything away , it's all in his hands, A 100 dollar guitar and he has a few and he loves them , he could play a 2x4 with bell wire on it
I would hate to have to choose...they're both great and unique. Jack is definitely multi dimensional...great slide and real rock (Allman Bros) as well as deep traditional jazzer. Brent more to the country side natch, since he's the top studio stud...but can do it all too...not as heavy into real jazz...but dang. If we could play a thousandth as well....Tones, touch, ideas are different...love em both..
Mason might have some hot licks and pizazz but. That's what will wear out the musician and listener alike . Jack has endurance and. I believe that his flexibility is the mark of true excellence
Jack is a phenomenal player. His smoothness is unrivaled! I don’t think Brent should be labeled as just “hot licks and pizazz”. Licks and pizazz will only get you so far. Brent is more rough and aggressive but his musicality to me is better.
this is better then any prize fight on record! these two are kicking the shit out of each other and I'm loving it! I just told her she's going to have to wait!
Nice reference to the song. Know who that was about? John Sebastian’s on UA-cam saying they played a gig and went back to the hotel and saw a very young Danny Gatton playing in the lounge...and they were blown away...and that who they wrote the song about.
Great work to all
Somebody should give that bass player some love as well he and that drummer are tight

@@mickeekroth4427.. it takes a refined and practiced ear.. Not everyone can hear the beauty in jazz guitar.. Ain’t no sin..✌🏼
Yes and so is Brent versatile
Jack's playing just looks so effortless. His fingers just glide over the neck.
Brent & Jack that's a whole lot of guitar talent there , both world class guys .
Jack is the most natural guitar player who has ever lived.
Freaking Jack Pearson!!!!!
Brent holds his own, but Jack is on another plane of existence from the rest of us
Pearson is utterly fearless
Jack is the greatest these days untouchable humble monster of a musician he breaks all boundaries
Jack's improvising is second to none he is an outside the box kind of player
Got to love Jack's glissando arpeggiation sliding
Jack is like an old sneaky snake the way he sneaks up on you
Jack settled the mood and Brent came alive. Awesome conversation between these greats.
Jack is so laid back. I really like his hollow body guitar
Jack Pearson makes it look so effortless lol
It isn’t a contest. Nobody is better. They both are ridiculously good.
J.P. is the unheralded master. A monster musician with monster chops...
Jack Pearson: who needs frets ?
My two fav players on one stage......heaven sent.
These guys are two of the best in the business
Dang!....Just DANG!!
2 great guitarists.
Some of the best guitar playing I've ever heard, and some of the best musicianship too (bookmarking this one!!).

Amazing two masters
Those old Gibson arch-tops with wood bridges and P90s are so unique ... NOTHING else sounds that bad!

Brent and Jack are the uppermost in the talent department.

Both just killing it...amazing players.
Yeah they are amazing players. In this instance only Jack is killing it.
I disagee but it's a matter of opinion...I love Jack...Brent is a badass too.
BTW...I prefer Jack's playing overall...just more warm and organic...
well i going with brent, much multi dimensional , my five cents

They sound so good together as does Jack's ' es125t' hollowbody guitar.
Hopefully the Gibson company will bring this guitar back!
When ego leaves the room and talent shines.
Jack's pick tried to escape. It knew what it was in for.
lol
nice to see the masters at work
Absolutely amazing.
Amazing skills and feel !
Two badass players.
utterly amazing
Damn two of the best on the planet here.
Thanks for posting.
Wonderful players!
Haha! Brent decided to bring his "A" game.
That's just magical great playing.....geez!!
Sensational talents❤
Jack never struggled or had to make odd jesters,..... the Bruce Lee of guitar😎
There is no "had" to it. It's just a "want." Two different styles. Art shouldn't be made a competition.
@@JustinR941 Sure is no comparison-How about a 14 year old kid that would make Brent look like a beginner?
@@sjuozhunki What does that have to do with this video or my comment?

+Albert Wilson it's pretty fine I tell ya! ... thanks for taking time to comment!
They should pick up the next verve jazz awards ceremony that's some serious jazzing
pretty cool!
I think jack is the best guitarists ever
Billies Bounce towards the end
Yeah that was a nice surprise and I imagine they know all the Parker heads, maybe?
Yeah, there's thirteen hundred and fifty-two
Guitar cases in Nashville
And any one that unpacks his guitar could play
Twice as better than I will
Wow! that's some crazy shite!! Naughty Wicked!
Tim Herman aww comon Tim ,,, I bet you knock a few out of the park from time to time =D !

masters👽
holy crap is Pearson good!
The only similarity between these two men and me is our wardrobes.
Yes!
Fantastic playing, but how drunk was the camera person?
Jack, are your fingers even touching the strings, or do you have magnets in the tips?
I know... he's something to watch!! Just amazing.
👏🏻👏🏻🙏❤
Roy on bass!
@@keithclark486 Ha, ha! Nope, just a friend from my Nashville days.
Brent looked like he was banjo style picking with three fingers
That's how he always plays, he uses a thumbpick and acrylic nails
Add this one to your collection.....ua-cam.com/video/BdUbrUQ7lcM/v-deo.html
Love it, but where's the camera on the bass solo? Jeez - follow the soloist, not just Jack.
Roy Vogt!
Brent Mason an JP Whoa Hi O Silver
I know right...YE AH
You don't like bass player doing chorus?
Holy SHIT @ 4:48!!!!!!!
Jedi
Non aggressively soothes a weary. Battle worn ear
The only one that can compare to Brent mason is TE and you can’t compare them they play nothing alike. I’ve never heard of this other guy
Go watch Tommy and Jack play together. Electric, acoustic, it doesn't matter. They push each other hard and it's a pleasure to watch.
haha 4:50 Jack is funny !!!
monsters
😆
music man rd 50 in white ..just like chet atkins and jerry reed....best ever... kool
should be too often in spelling and instances of appearances
music man rd 50 in white WOW
Brent isn’t a jazz guy, but country is another story.
Brent not a Jazz guy? Well he sure knows how to play Billie's Bounce, and that's Charlie Parker! It doesn't get any more jazzy than that...
These guys are so frickin fantastic at guitar, but it sounds awful to me
